@JonnyGulliver,

Even is I did not get the reference, the machinist and scientific aspect of the character would not be fitting in with the setting that I am going for. However since I do know who you are going for and know the story of Nash well (too well actually) it is definitely not appropriate to the kind of game I am crafting.

And if he is as jaded as this app and I know Nash to be then it would not be a good fit... unless you just threw this app in here to amuse me, in which case you succeeded marvelously!

But sorry, no Nash with boom sticks here... we will be at early to emerging firearms at best in most domains.

Though hauntingly beautiful, this woman emits a strange and off-putting vibe, and drifts mindfully with a slow, almost pained gait, as if dogged by chronic pain and old wounds. When she speaks it is slowly and thoughtfully, with a scratchy whispery voice that tends to crack.

Her clothes likewise seem just as tattered as she. A keen observer would note that she has a host of scars and ritual Quori tattoos that would indicate she must've been a great and mighty warrior in the Last War, and hints at what may have given her her present wraith-like condition. She can't be older than 40 but she seems to have aged far beyond that, as if the very life essence was sucked out of her.

But like any veteran of war, what she lacks in youthful speed and vigor, she makes up in wisdom and calculated maneuvers. Though rare these days, anyone who sees her in battle will note the calmness and the cold precision in which she sways in and out of melee, like a well-honed dance. The economy with she she moves is truly majestic in it's own strange way.


Deets. WIP. Must get my beauty rest. But first, feedback on concept before I continue forward. Does this work for your campaign, Xman?

Overall the concept can work, even the Empty Vessel aspect of it. Just hope you don't run into any Quor...

One more thing, which I am sure some of you have stumbled upon, when modifying the Google Doc, just be sure to edit and save only. If you 'Resolve" the comment or reply it will essence close the comment thread. Otherwise, if there is anything that anyone needs in terms of clarification on the mechanics of manipulating or editing it, then post it here and it will be taken care of.

Good question... I had initial set the deadline for Phase 1 to occur at the end of this week, with the following week for Phase 2 and selection on 01 February. Based on the conditions, I may choose to accelerate any of those, since the response volume and frequency has been better than I expected. At this time, I am sticking with the above timeline.

Anyway, my intentions is that this be a way for you to see who you would be most interested in playing with and then develop stuff IC to create meaningful ties to those characters. As you can see, the incentive for casting a wide net is that both players and I will get to what kind of voice you will bring to the character and their relationship to them and others.

So I have left this amount of time is to give everyone the opportunity to demonstrate and achieve that.

Update: So to that end, I would like for you to put in secret text here, a rank order of the people/characters you would like to see in your party. You do NOT have to state why, but can if you would like. This can be done at any point in time during the Phase 2 process and you can change your preferences until I close it.

Update 2: I am getting what I need from Phase 2 in the current Session, so there will be no breakout sessions required as I originally thought. You guys are the greatest!

Follow-up: Thanks for that. The 2nd part of my question, exit Strategy? Or (as I suspect from what I know of you) is Phase 2 actually the start of the game (for those selected)?

Appearance: Six foot three inches of threat, sleek coiled muscles, and long black hair. Although no weakling, he is built for speed rather than brute force. In a dark alley, all you see is eyes, if you are lucky. In sunlight, his hair is so jet black that it almost has an iridescence. Adults seem to find him frightful, while children, of all races, find him fascinating and childlike, although awfully tall. Once he begins speaking, the grown folk tend to come over to his side as well, charming and witty, with a smile that splits his formerly intimidating face.


Personality: Smooth and easy going, unless an enemy is in sight: Demons, undead, thugs, tax collector - then his total focus snaps into place and he is a killing machine.
His goal is to take the target down before it can hurt anyone else, himself included. With living, merely foolish human targets, he has learned to do this in a non lethal way. The hardened oppressor goes down permanently. That transition was as not difficult , but came naturally to him even with the sharp edged blade he favors.

When combat is not on his plate, his easygoing and friendly nature overcomes his dark visage and tall stature. For a confident dealer of death, all the kids seem to see something else and congregate in groups around him. The grownups soon learn to do the same. If the fan-girls would stop trying to pet him, that would be just fine. He like women, but they can be a distraction.

Short background: A traveler, a wanderer, a hunter. Some Gypsy folk helped him find his way from place to place. Vistani they called themselves. Friendly, but very mysterious. They hinted a prophecies having to do with hi, Seamus could not entirely caused himself to believe them. McManion was a social animal and often discounted as a fop or tough among other populations, but these Gypsy folk took him seriously.

He was anything but a simple fighter. His skills were in slicing and dicing, but his interest was in learning, history, and the ways of people of various types. It mattered not. His was an easy, and undirected existence. Or it was, until the small town he visited was destroyed almost overnight by a herd of zombies. He escaped, and that began his self taught exercise in killing undead. The proper skills and weapons must be developed.

Upon leaving these gypsies, he merely wandered about attempting to getting the lay of the land, earning coin as a guard or rescuing some helpless soul before moving on. At first, it was adventure and learning that drove his path. Now there is something more. Although he is not certain yet what it is he hunts, still, the hunt for Evil, Undead, Tyrants or Demons, fills his time, so that simpler, more peaceable folk could live their lives in safety.

He had once been approved for Clerical training, but the goddess he would serve seems not to answer here. Wherever here really is.


In this City of Darkness, he has had to pass as a native, as fully human. Outside the wanderers, few friendly folks have been met so far.
Oddly enough the has heard of some with whom he shares a common passion, destroying Demons. What makes it odd is that many of them seem to carry Demon Blood themselves. Manion knows not yet whether they can be trusted. But then, Paranoia seems to be the password here in this land. There is more here than meets the eye.
