Yeah, the deadline is relativly far away because Jan is packed a bit full with responsibilities at my end. But I figured longer time for people to see the ad and mull over wether they'll be trusting me with their future entertainment or not hahaha

Also announcement: I have decided on a small rules update. To steamline the adventuring a bit I'll occasionally roll some skill checks for the players in the DM updates. You know, for instance when everyone in their right mind would roll perception anyways. (Or the DM at a table would say "everyone roll X")

I think this would be beneficial for all, because it will serve to eliminate "Grundlewik the Gnome peered into the darkness of the cave, trying to discern if enemies were hiding in the shadows.... (perception: 1! nothing to be seen ))filler posts" and get you to the juicy bits faster.
This won't eliminate the need to roll such things on your own initiative, though.

Blurb about yourself: My name is Chocoladevla, at the Crossing for more than a year now and I grew up in the 80'.
Kind of a nerd, like Dr Who, Steampunk, play games at Town of Salem, Final Fantasy 7, Card Hunter, the Vanishing of Ethan Carter, stuff like thatSteam and I still have a lot of time to roleplay online.
Besides that I work with psychiatric youth, which might explain a lot of my characters having a twisted personality, or something odd, quirky .

Here she is, my Cleric Dwarfette: ~

Step 1: Write 5 background and concept elements that you feel are important to your image of the character.

Bg 1:
Eadlynn did not make a choice to become a cleric, her parents were Dwarven Clerics and as their only daughter and heritage she needed to follow their footsteps. The first couple of years she learned so much from her Father and Mother, and when she was ready, she went into the Sarenrae Temple to study and learn about life. Troubled by failing a lot of holy lessons and sessions, she wasn't sure about her calling anymore

Bg 2:
Eadlynn has a beard, and within her Clan it was something to be proud of, but within the Cauldron City it seemed to be something odd. Eadlynn was, and is proud of her femininity, but the first years outside her clan she felt misunderstood, sad. She did not understand that beauty was not to be found in everyone's beard, and it was the start for her poetry.

Bg 3:
Eadlynn has two sides, her optimistic side that was obvious and clear for everyone she just met. She was helpful, showing a lot of insight in other people's problems, and she was known for her friendliness. Her other side was slightly dark, not evil dark but she needed to get her feelings out, and she needed to write. She writes poems about 'death', 'lonelines' 'depression' and a lot more subjects like that. Getting that out, made her stronger as a person, she needed the creative outlet to be able to keep friendly and loving, to keep the beautiful balance in life.
Lately her Cleric magic is 'off', as if something became stronger inside of her, and it scares her.

Bg 4:
Eadlynn respects her Father and Mother, and will always defend their wisdom. She will spread their wisdom whenever she can, in a broad spectrum of subjects. She knows for example that 'a ring can never become a square', and 'the iron is will never be as hot as it was forged'. Eadlynn is not very bright, but she knows an expression for almost every situation, and is not hesitant to tell everyone.

Bg 5:
Nobody exactly knows why, and Eadlynn does not talk about it easily, but she got kicked out of the Temple. To be fair; she was asked-to-leave. This was very humiliating and painful for Eadlynn, and it just happened recently. She could stay at the Temple for a week or two at max, and than there was nothing else to do than to return to her parents with dishonor and shame.

Step 2: List at least two goals for the character.
At least one of these goals should be one that the character has, while another should be one that you, as a player, want to see developed over the course of the game.

Goal 1:
Eadlynn wants to combine Sarenrae and poetry, make her Deity reachable for the common people. The Clerics she knew, were always at a distance to commoners and she wants to free herself from that position in life, she wants to share her artistic vision to tell people about Sarenrae

Goal 2:
As a player I am curious to see how she is going to do this, this ambitious plan of her.
She is young and full of dreams, and there will be a point she will be so disappointed in people who don't appreciate her poetry. I want to let her grow in character, see how she copes with 'real adventurers' and I want to combine her character with the occasional poem or haiku to emphasis that aspect of her creativity

Step 3: List at least two secrets about your character.
One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet. This will help me in creating plots that center around your character.

Secret 1:
Eadlynn was kicked out of the Temple, and she is deeply hurt by it. It was painful, and it wounded her heart, the bitterness about the whole event was still so raw. Sister Mary-Ann found her stash of poems, it was as simple as that. She took it to Father Calmert and she was called to explain the evil tendency. There was a hearing, and she was asked to read a couple of her poems, but they did not even let her finish the first one. Eadlynn was never granted to explain the words, the sentences dripping with sadness and depression. She was interupted time after time, and she was never given the chance to explain she needed the balance, she wanted to shout at them in frustration; that she used words to describe the darkness to keep loving the light. And the result of that horrible day was very clear to all the High Priests, Eadlynn was evil, too dark to be able to stay at the Temple. She as assigned to a room next to the stables and given two weeks to pack her stuff, pray for salvation and she was allowed to say goodbye to her friends.

Secret 2:
Eadlynn is getting more and more trouble to practise her magic as being taught by her parents and her Temple. She never speaks about it, but she fears the wildness inside of her. Her magic is changing, getting more untamed and Eadlynn doesn't know anymore how to control it.
She is a Cleric, ad she will always be a Cleric in her heart,
but her magic coming from deep within seems to disagree

Step 4: Describe at least three people that are tied to the character.
Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile.

Tied 1:
Mr and Mrs Lorearthen, Clerics of the the Cauldron City. Her parents were well known Clerics, and asked to guide various of missions, to keep the fighters healthy and safe. They were wise and stern, loving and direct.

Tied 2:
Sometimes when they had to buy stuff in town, she left written poetry for others to find and read. Oliver Chestersons, the bakery son, found one of her poems and confronted her with it the next time they met. They started to meet eachother at a regular basis, without getting caught, and even though he is a Halfling she grew very fond of him.

Tied 3:
Sister Mary-Ann, hearing that name brings tears of bitterness into Eadlynn's eyes.
She did not have to betray her, she could have ask about the poems instead of running to the father. Eadlynn hid them under her matrass, and never expected them to be found.... Her faith and trust in humanity was crushed at that time, and she blamed Sister Mary-Ann for these new confrontating feelings

Step 5: Describe three memories, mannerisms, or quirks that your character has.They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.

Eadlynn is very artistic, she is not a good musician but that does not withold her from singing. She loves writing dark poetry.

Eadlynn always sees the good in people, no matter what they did, or are doing, she is forgiving and loving

Note from the Author The poems are pure fluff, I do not have any intentions to create awesome poetry, and if other players/NPC's do not like them they are completely in their right, because the poems are pure lame, kinda crooked and pure character fluff

RP Sample Eadlynn was sent away, and she was waiting outside the medical ward to try and get some news. Trying to calm herself she was still full of adrenalin, and when Sister Christina approached her she had a hard time getting her breathing under control. "What on this realm were you trying to do child?" Eadlynn tried to swallow, and had to think of an answer. There was simply not 'one' answer, she could not get her words coordinated enough to make a sentence. A sentence that the Sister would understand. "may I recite a poem Sister? To try and explain what..." "NO! Heavens no! Your friend was wounded, and now he is frozen. How could a poem explain that?" Eadlynn agreed, and disagreed because she did heal Simon. He fell, he was hurt, she healed, that should have been the whole story. Instead of the healing there were sparks of ice, and she saw the ice crystals cover the wounds. She used the right words, the right gestures and she was even touching her necklace. It should not have happened. The voice of the Sister was as cold as the healing Eadlynn had given "please leave child, before you kill someone" and the echo of her footsteps were crushing all of Eadlynn's dreams. She did not mean to hurt people, but... Eadlynn was getting lost within her darkness, and loosing hope of ever finding light again. Touching the door of the Medical Ward she started to whisper to her friend Simon "I am so sorry... I need to find people who can guide me, I never know if I am evil till I find evil to talk to. They will be the only ones who will be able to answer me, tell me what I am. I am a Cleric, I have always been a cleric. My parents believe in me..., I think I am a Cleric Why am I feeling so dark inside..." 'for all the pain I have caused, I will seek the light of forgiveness, for all the dark's curses I will try and shed a light'

Appearance: Tall with a normal build. Brown chin length hair and short well-trimmed beard. Thin face with a sharp nose, long thin fingers.

Background: Acolyte (Member of a secret organization of Clerics)
Nailfin belongs to a secret conclave of Clerics who are devoted to the Domain of Arcana known as the Order of Oracles. They worship an unnamed At least his/her name has not been revealed to the followersdeity and keep their secrets close at hand. Nailfin stumbled into this group by accident but was immediately drawn in by their wise and charismatic leader Father Domino. Although he has since perished, Nailfin still honors his memory and often asks what the wise Father would do in given circumstances. Nailfin has recently left the safety of his conclave to hunt down a rogue member who infiltrated their ranks only to steel their secrets and secretly murdered several members. This has left the organization in chaos.
Traits:

• I Idolize Father Domino, and speak of him often.
• I often quote or misquote sacred texts

Ideal: Power and Knowledge - I seek to learn all that I can of my new path.
Bond: My domain is considered heresy by my enemies, who seek to destroy its teachings.

Hook: A member of my Order has fled to the Fire Cultists and threatens to reveal our secrets. I must hunt him down.

Nailfin approached a small town, the name of which he did not yet know. All he knew is that the tracks he had followed passed this way several days earlier. The hour was getting late and storms were beginning blow in. He prayed to the unnamed god that the town would have a tavern to take refuge for the night. Guided by his faith, Nailfin wandered the streets only a short while before finding what the divine guidance had led him to.

Nailfin entered the poor looking 'Three-Leg Dog Tavern' not expecting much. He was not disappointed. A poor bard attempted to entertain a measly crowd of less than a dozen drunken patrons. A single maid, of elderly years a few teeth slowly walked from table to table filling tankards. A middle aged overweight keeper, probably the maids son, sat behind a table keeping an eye on everything. Spotting the keeper, Nailfin approached the inn keeper to arrange for a room. "Yes good sir, my name is Nailfin," he began. He rolled his r's as a habit, something the Order did to help identify its members. "I'm looking for boarding for the night. Nothing special."

"Well then Nail FIN," the keeper said, "Your in luck! We ain't got nothing special round these parts. Just a simple straw bed with enough room to walk around it. Cost ya all of 2 silver if you want a meal with it."

Graciously Nailfin agreed to the price and took a seat to eye the bard. As he listened to him attempt to play a lute, something stuck out as odd. The man was clearly untrained as a musician, but it seemed that there was something more to him than seen with the naked eye. Then on closer observation, he noticed it. The man was using an enchantment to alter his physical appearance. Ignoring what was seen, Nailfin studied his mannerisms and attempted to not give any indication that he was aware of the deception. The man had a nervous twitch that he had seen before. His right foot insisted on tapping out a specific syncopated rhythm to the music being played. Nailfin recognized it at once. This was the man he was hunting. But he dared not make a scene now in front of everyone. Shurley he himself had been identified. If that was the case, Nailfin was positive that an assassination attempt would be made on himself that very night. He would need to be prepared. If he could kill this perpetrator in his own self-defense, he could accomplish his task without fear of breaking any laws. That would be ideal. With this thought in his mind, Nailfin slyly smiled as he took a sip from his own tankard and crafted his plan......

Blurb about yourself: I've been a D&D DM and Player since the mid 90's. I joined RPGX in January 2015, and have since played in several games, as well as DM/CO-DM a few. I also help DM our New Player Solo Games. My character Ivan Krakonosh made it to the finals of Outplay 2015. I have been interested in this particular module since it was originally released but never had a good chance to get my hands on it. (Recently decided to pick up Out of the Abyss instead, and am running that). As a player I tend to gravitate towards support roles. I always try to be a team player. I do have a lot on my plate at the moment, so daily posts from me would be unreasonable to expect, but a few posts a week I can easily do.
