Rhazor Blackhand "Aaaargh!" Rhazor screams when the tentacle pulls him to the railing. He drops his crossbow and seizes a rope lying around with his left hand. He uses the short stop to draw his rapier and chopping up the tentacle which is wrapped around his body. "Take this!"

Confor The speed with which the battle had gotten out of hand shocked Confor. They were in trouble, of that there was no doubt. <Just leave the blowhard to his fate. Help the one who can still be saved.> But Confor recognized the quiet voice in the back of his mind as his patron's, and that, perversely, unfroze the warlock. Moving towards the edge of the ship where the pompous warrior-wizard was struggling against the pair of sea-spawn, the half-elf fired off a blast of eldritch energy at the weaker looking foe. <You should learn to follow good advice, boy.>

OOC @delpinator, please let the players know which surviving sea spawn have been injured by my spell and/or other people's arrows/bolts, so players can pick their targets. Similarly, please let us know which sea spawn have caught which character.

Then he takes a breath to center himself and fires two more arrows after the monster that has Arrogaio down in the water. The first strikes the waves beside the sea spawn, but the second one lodges right in the monster's tentacle. With an "N-T."

Whatever his other questionable qualities, the man is no coward, nor shirker. Engaging with the main group, he raises his sword high, and it bursts into green flames. Then he brings it down on a sea spawn with crit for 12 totaldeadly effect. When it hits, a 2 damagesplash of the fire jumps over to an adjacent enemy. Nearby, Duha continues to seem more like Briggs's assistant than Arrogaio's.

Cha-kra Under the circumstances, it appeared as if Cha-kra was fully content with launching further arrows down onto the sea spawns. Again he waited for the perfect opportunity to shoot, and this time when the creatures left their cover the Thri-kreen's arrow struck true. If Arrogaio had inspired the mantis to join his valor in battle, it certainly didn't show.

rhazor attacks the tentacles that are attempting to grab him managing to hit a major artery as green blood spills across the deck. confor shoots a bolt of eldritch energy across the deck managing to distract the creature before arrogio does significant damage to it. A bolt of fire singes the other sea spawn attempting to swipe its tentacles across the deck at arrogio. snap kick and cha kra fire arrows at the severely injured sea spawn. brings finishes the attacks of the heroes killing the one going after rhazor. the sailors drop the severely injured sea spawn. The last two attempt to go after arrogio as they move forward to grapple him. one is successful while the other misses. They move off the ship and attempt to pull arrogio into the sea.

Rhazor Blackhand "NOOO!" Rhazor shouts at the sea spawn which grappled Arrogaio. "You won't get him! Not on my watch!" In fact, this is quite a brave statement for someone you was nearly drowned a few seconds ago. Well, honestly, it is more stupid than brave, but Rhazor isn't in the mood for logical thinking as the primeval part of his brain has taken over control by adding the monthly ratio of adrenaline to the blood all at once. His heart is beating like a giant drum and his eyes only focus on the tentacles. He feels like a raging barbarian. invincible! "DIE! DIE! DIE!" The rapier slashes into the tentacle which is wrapped around And can't dodge, I hope!Arrogaio's body, leaving deep wounds ans splattering blood everywhere. "RAAAAARGH!"

Confor Confor reloaded his crossbow and aimed as carefully as he could...and rolled a 9 with xbowmissed anyway. I wonder if my desire to see the champion and beacon dead is affecting my aim? His spells had done little damage to the creatures, but at least they had worked! Perhaps it is something about the boat?

Cha-kra From up inside the crow's nest, Cha-kra witnessed the dramatic moment of Arrogaio on the cusp of getting dragged overboard and Rhazor heroically coming to the aid of the flamboyant frontliner. Before the insectoid's lack of expression however, the endearing scene of comradery was only met with the impassioned approach of Cha-kra nocking another arrow, taking aim, and sending the projectile on its lethal course. Just as his shot pierced into the frame of just another misshapen seaspawn, the mantis still didn't show any reaction that could let on whether he cared about the well-being of his fellow adventurers at all. If anything could be said about the Three-kreen's almost mechanical stoicism, then that it wasn't very endearing at all.

But the alleged Champion of Skuld has other plans. He sheathes his sword, which is hobbled in the water, and expertly slips an arm around the rotting fish-man to put it in a half nelson. Then he heaves the thing aboard the ship, pushing it ahead of himself to present it to the others. Arrogaio flicks his neck to whip his dripping mane out of his eyes, while loudly spitting salt water off his lips. "I brought you all something," he says. "Is it - how do you say? - a 'keeper?'"

snap kick lets two arrows fly which indeed strike true though not enough to kill the spawn it hisses as the arrows hit. rhazor shouts at the attacking sea spawn his anger overwhelming he slashes into the tentacle as the limb falls off and the sea span goes limp.
confor begins to question his aim wondering if the ship had affected his aim or if it were something more.
cha kra with cold calculation finds the sea spawn that had attempted to grab arrogio. briggs stands ready to assist and stabs at the sea spawn that had missed. Arrogio grapples the last remaining sea spawn that had attacked and pulls him into the middle of the ship to show the rest. The sea spawn screams and attempts to claw and use it's spine to escape but the silvery barbs from arrogio goes off stopping the creature from causing harm.

The caption begins to clap. walking towards the creature. "well done and we seem to have one for questioning though i doubt anyone speaks the foul language of these beasts."

"men grab nets and we shall wrap this creature up like a fine fish." he points towards a small fishing net that appears to be well used and possibly frayed. " I noticed the rocks didn't move in your spell during the fight or any of the arrows piercing it's face. perhaps it was indeed an illusion. Should we go ashore and let you look around or did you wish to explore the rest of the beaches for an alternative path."

"If this thing could speak," he responds to the captain, "I doubt it would tell us anything other than the torture of its damned existence." The fighter abruptly draws a javelin and runs it through the monster's skull. With a Prestidigitationwave of his hand, Arrogaio is magically dry, clean, and handsomely coifed. He turns to follow the direction of the captain's observations. "Indeed, Captain," he confirms. "I wondered if anyone else had noticed the telltale signs of illusion. It now appears that our original path to shore is clear. Turn us back that way, while Duha verifies that the way is clear."
