No initiative rolls needed. By default, your enemies are surprised or didn't notice you yet - see individual post descriptions - and you can act first.

I meant, that the enemies are surprised in the common term, not in the games terms. Don't roll initiative. Do actions for one round and then, the enemies act.

May I ask when the other players are going to post?

Breaking Contact in real life and DnD 5e.
Breaking contact in real life usually breaks down to providing sufficient suppressive fire that your pursuers hesitate. Interestingly in a home invasion its usually about shooing enough of the attackers that the ones left decide to run away. Although, I was in one scenario, were my family had an escape plan and so went out the back door as the home invaders kicked in the front door. The action economy in 5e makes it tough to retreat (unless you have something special). Disengage/Move means that your attacker can Move/Attack. A move/dash causes an OA, and then the attacker can Move/Dash to get back in range. Rogues are a notable exception (yeah Khat). In that they can Move/BAash/A:Attack. So, they can provide some suppressive fire or out distance pursuit There are a variety of spells that improve movement (e..g, Expeditious Retreat, Long Strider) or impede movement (e..g, Web, Wall Spells). But a group really needs to co-ordinate.

It was a training scenario. I’ve never been in a real life home invasion.
