I say don't worry about the Lower Deck. Valerious should roll to try and grab Kazza. If he fails, Khat will try - not good odds, but a chance. Then the rest kill the beastie, and Kazza needs to catch herself.

Can do. My understanding is that if Valerius or Khat can grab hold of her, she doesn't need to make any checks to land on the envelope or grab hold of the netting. So, I might wait to see if Valerius manages to grab hold of her before attacking and hopefully killing the bird.

I didn't want to railroad your actions, I just wanted to offer options. Any other actions would have been fine, too. But I though that jumping up to Kazza and holding her would be the nearest solution and the players might want to know the rules for this.

How far/long to get down to the lower deck? Assuming Kazza's 45 ft. speed and 'falling' the last 20 ft. Can she do it and still take an action?

Climbing over the railing of yhe crow's nest, opening the hatch and 'falling' down to the main deck takes one full round.

@LeDragon, I’m going to do what I would do in real-life, because Khat’s +0 strength is going to make any Str(Athletics) roll dicey.

As I understand it, Khat’s harness has two 10ft lengths of rope attached to allow securing to a single point and then moving to another. Khat is going to brace herself with her legs against something (e.g., railing, post) next to where Suluruk is going over and then toss over the rope for Suluruk to grab.

In DnD Mechanics, I’m hoping this will allow her to use push/drag/lift weight limit (330) rather than carrying capacity (165). Although, I think that Suluruk will need to climb the rope, rather than be pulled in, because I think that Suluruk plus his gear is greater than 330.
