Really, Taurin? A drinking contest? She took a breath, intending to chide the young men about their foolish behavior, and then stopped.
They are all alive, and healthy, she knew. A hundred checks that day alone of their various life threads had reassured her of that. And she herself was well healed, after her ordeal. She still had some whitish scars, and likely always would from the worst of the wounds she inherited, but the pain was long gone, the muscles repaired, and the stiffness chased away by exercise and sunshine. All may not be right in the world, she told herself, but perhaps the boys have earned a respite from your wounding tongue.
Inno was still not pleased with herself for her words to Charles, earlier. Peace, sister, she thought to herself. The headaches they earn tonight, they will dance with tomorrow. She smiled. [/i] And I won't take those away,[/I] she thought. You earn them, you keep them.
Inno let the breath out she had taken, and leaned further into her hand. She let the noises of the tavern brush over her, and closed her eyes. She didn't like crowds, but the smoke and smells were as distracting as the voices here, and all of them drowned out her own voices, and tamped down on her fears. She let them work, and let the boys at the table crow and preen.
"Drink all you want, you silly little jays," she said quietly. "But tomorrow, don't bring a feather my way because you can't fly." She shook her head side to side, but smiled as she did. "I'm not straightening the feathers you bent."

Charles jangled his coin purse, thankful for all the sharp-eyed allies around him. This thing would already be gone in this den of thieves. He thought as he took the halfling up on his challenge and ordered several rounds of drinks. "You're on!"
"You may have a hollow leg, little brother, but I'm still double your height and triple your weight! Biology is on my side, and I won't hear a word of handicaps or smaller mugs." He laughed and almost threw an arm around Inno before his life flashed before his eyes. The near-death experience only sobered him slightly as he moved to rib the woman.
"Oh, there will be no flying tomorrow. Perhaps some bleary-eyed staggering after the sun is well into the sky, though. You should join us! I bet you can hold your drink, and you know Aurora would have drunk with us. Live a little! We have a lot to be thankful for, and soon enough, nowhere half this nice to do it in! You too!" He said in Canan's direction. "This is a party!"

"Hmph." Ghovinda grunted at his companions eagerness to dull their minds with blind drinking. He was surprised that Inno seemed to condone it, but her response also made him feel justified in his decision to avoid it.
Instead, Ghovinda stood up and silently walked out of the bar to the relative quiet of the porch outside. Despite the fact that it was quite late, there were still people, carts, and animals wandering through the streets bustling along for this or that reason. Was there no rest in this city?
Nonetheless, the moon was out, and the stars. And under their blanket Ghovinda found a calm and quiet, even amongst the inescapable din. He took a deep breath, leaned back against the wall and began wondering to himself about what was to come. What he needed to do...

As the others reveled around the idea of a drinking contest, including Kelda thankfully, Graegor rose and left the confines of the bar. The noise from within dulled to a subtle roar as he exited the building.
He found Ghovinda there, looking out upon the city street. He nodded to the enigmatic man, wondering what had brought him outside.
For himself, his was mind was still too abuzz with all he had learned to put his thoughts aside. With his sword slung over his back, he pulled his coat tighter around himself and stepped out onto the street.
He was not sure where he was headed, but just felt the need to walk and to think.

Class Abilities: At 1st level, the magus gains a reservoir of mystical arcane energy that he can draw upon to fuel his powers and enhance his weapon. This arcane pool has a number of points equal to 1/2 his magus level (minimum 1) + his Intelligence modifier. The pool refreshes once per day when the magus prepares his spells.
At 1st level, a magus can expend 1 point from his arcane pool as a swift action to grant any weapon he is holding a +1 enhancement bonus for 1 minute. For every four levels beyond 1st, the weapon gains another +1 enhancement bonus, to a maximum of +5 at 17th level. These bonuses can be added to the weapon, stacking with existing weapon enhancement to a maximum of +5. Multiple uses of this ability do not stack with themselves.
At 5th level, these bonuses can be used to add any of the following weapon properties: dancing, flaming, flaming burst, frost, icy burst, keen, shock, shocking burst, speed, or vorpal.
Adding these properties consumes an amount of bonus equal to the property’s base price modifier. These properties are added to any the weapon already has, but duplicates do not stack. If the weapon is not magical, at least a +1 enhancement bonus must be added before any other properties can be added. These bonuses and properties are decided when the arcane pool point is spent and cannot be changed until the next time the magus uses this ability. These bonuses do not function if the weapon is wielded by anyone other than the magus.
A magus can only enhance one weapon in this way at one time. If he uses this ability again, the first use immediately ends.Arcane Pool | At 1st level, a magus learns to cast spells and wield his weapons at the same time. This functions much like two-weapon fighting, but the off-hand weapon is a spell that is being cast. To use this ability, the magus must have one hand free (even if the spell being cast does not have somatic components), while wielding a light or one-handed melee weapon in the other hand. As a full-round action, he can make all of his attacks with his melee weapon at a –2 penalty and can also cast any spell from the magus spell list with a casting time of 1 standard action (any attack roll made as part of this spell also takes this penalty). If he casts this spell defensively, he can decide to take an additional penalty on his attack rolls, up to his Intelligence bonus, and add the same amount as a circumstance bonus on his concentration check. If the check fails, the spell is wasted, but the attacks still take the penalty. A magus can choose to cast the spell first or make the weapon attacks first, but if he has more than one attack, he cannot cast the spell between weapon attacks.Spell Combat | At 2nd level, whenever a magus casts a spell with a range of “touch” from the magus spell list, he can deliver the spell through any weapon he is wielding as part of a melee attack. Instead of the free melee touch attack normally allowed to deliver the spell, a magus can make one free melee attack with his weapon (at his highest base attack bonus) as part of casting this spell. If successful, this melee attack deals its normal damage as well as the effects of the spell. If the magus makes this attack in concert with spell combat, this melee attack takes all the penalties accrued by spell combat melee attacks. This attack uses the weapon’s critical range (20, 19–20, or 18–20 and modified by the keen weapon property or similar effects), but the spell effect only deals ×2 damage on a successful critical hit, while the weapon damage uses its own critical modifier.Spellstrike | the magus learns to use his arcane pool to recall spells he has already cast. With a swift action he can recall any single magus spell that he has already prepared and cast that day by expending a number of points from his arcane pool equal to the spell’s level (minimum 1). Feats: Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Katana) | Benefit: You can choose to take a –1 penalty on all melee attack rolls and combat maneuver checks to gain a +2 bonus on all melee damage rolls. This bonus to damage is increased by half (+50%) if you are making an attack with a two-handed weapon, a one handed weapon using two hands, or a primary natural weapon that adds 1-1/2 times your Strength modifier on damage rolls. This bonus to damage is halved (–50%) if you are making an attack with an off-hand weapon or secondary natural weapon.
When your base attack bonus reaches +4, and every 4 points thereafter, the penalty increases by –1 and the bonus to damage increases by +2.
You must choose to use this feat before making an attack roll, and its effects last until your next turn. The bonus damage does not apply to touch attacks or effects that do not deal hit point damage.Power Attack | Benefit: Whenever you deal nonlethal damage with a melee weapon, you can make an Intimidate check to demoralize your target as a free action.
