VictorIt was a true statement, they really had very little to offer the new world. At least nothing he knew of came to mind. They were foreigners in a foreign land and had only been here for a few days at best. There was nuch to learn and even more to do in order to rebuild their civilization. Somehow they had to convince others to either join them or to let the old worldwrs join the new worlders.

Victor wished there was more time. Time to seek out other domes of old worlders and join forces with them, time to learn more of their own surroundings and the new ecology, time to meet with other villages to gain their trust and friendship. But the fact still remained that they would have three to four days at best before the patrol would find their dome and report back, or to capture the patrol and hope for a few extra days before being discovered.

"We also have old world craftsmen, but it sounds like a lot had changed around that as well. It was also fairly clear that Adigal's fortress had little need for that type of help either." The prospect of being raided by a larger force angered Victor. A peaceful negotiation would be more preferrable to possibly starting a war that they were sure to lose. "Perhaps Dukka and his bandits or the other villagers have more information we could leverage," he suggested, though it could just as easily have been taken as a question.

"You know, that's actually not that bad of an idea," Vyxl said slyly, "We could find out where tensions lie, gather a small strike team, and then attack one of the nations outposts, posing as one of their enemies. They'll be sure to act on that, and hopefully be too occupied to come after us." He knew it was no where near what the Aasimar was suggesting, and it pleased him to know that he was plucking at the morals at the core of a half angel.

"Either way. It's something we'll have to decide when we get back."

He then looks over at Kosk, speaking in a language unknown to Victor, his face contorted in ways to show pleasure, as well as respect, but in only a mere sentence or two.

Kosk WolfhookKosk answered Vyxl in kind, with a few growling syllables. Turning back to Viktor, he said, "Evari? Don't know her well, really. Good in a fight. Not many like that though. Her kind," he gave a mystical wave, "Aren't many of them." He stood up and started pacing restlessly, ready to leave, to do something. There was too much talking going on for his taste.

VictorIt was pretty obvious that Kosk was not one for planning or thinking things through. It amazed him the man was still alive, but then again, until just a few days ago the primative man had likely never set foot into much civilization. "On that note, we have a while before the book is delivered. If you want to explore around the area that's fine, just don't start any trouble. Especially with those odd looking dwarven men," Victor stated as he rolled up the map for safe keeping. "I don't have any of the local money left, so I am going to see about helping out around the tavern here for a few hours to see if I can't procure us some dinner and a drink before we leave."

The Assimar waited for the other two to indicate what they planned to do, slightly nervous about what they might get into over the next few hours.

"I'm sure those Dwarves are the least of our worries. Anyway, you're right. Lots of time to kill, I think I'm going to go out in town to see what else this place has to offer." Vyxl stood up, and began to walk out, stopping at the door to call back at the other two. "If you need me...well I guess you're S-O-L. I'll be back around the afternoon."

At that, he made his way outside, giving a slight nod to the old man. He looked around for somewhere that might pass as a legitimate place of business, it honestly didn't matter what they sold, as he was only there to inquire about the worth of the old coin. He would look them up and down, and ask something like "Ever seen anything like this before?" as he held out some of the gold and silver from ages past, of which they would probably inquire as to where he found it, and he would respond "I found it out in the wastes, about spent all night cleaning it up. How much do you suppose a single coin like this is worth?"

Although it wouldn't be the complete truth, it wouldn't necessarily be a complete lie either as he did relieve people of their money in the wastes, then cleaning it from its blood and dirt as he made his way to Boume.

Victor's offer to help out is accepted by Estys.
"It's alright." he says. "I'd suspected you weren't with the legion. A few small errands will square you up though, what do you say?"
The Aasimar hands him a slip of paper. "My friend Rien's got a farmstead a mile down the western road. Take this, and bring back supplies. That'll square us."

Vyxl
------
Questioning the shopkeepers in the market square turns up little information on Vyxl's coin. The market gardener doesn't recognise it, the lady selling flowers and small intricate sculptures thought it was nice but of no value, and the tinker thought it could be shaped into a lovely medallion.
it wasn't until he passed a covered wagon that he learned anything. Standing upon a wooden crate was a man spruiking his wares, a selection of tiny vials. Cures most illnesses, he'd claim. Relieves back pain. Migraines cleared in minutes. Scurvy and rickets would disappear completely. Venomous animal bites? Not a problem, with just one sip a man could find himself immune to such ailments!

Interrupting the traveler, Vyxl poses his query.
"Why sir, with just one of those you could purchase not one, not two, but three of my miracle draught! Guaranteed to resolve any ailments you might suffer now or in future!"

Kosk WolfhookKosk was not much for waiting. He planned to stay where he was - someone should stay here and wait, he thought - but he couldn't manage it, he was too restless. He stopped his pacing, resolved to do something useful, and left to find some game to hunt. Can always use some extra food.

VictorVictor thanked the barkeeper for his generosity and understanding as he accepted the paper and headed out the door. It might not be the most interesting of things he had ever done, but it was quite a bargan in his eyes.

Victor looked around for the others half heartedly, knowing they had already agreed to go separate ways for the time being. He shrugged his shoulders and rolled his neck the took off down the road toward the farmstead.

None of it made any sense, sure these people wouldn't recognize the old coin, but gold is still gold, and that should at least be worth something. Feeling determined he pressed on, surely there had to be someone who still covets the precious metal.

Of all of the people in the town, it was the street peddler who saw the worth in the coins he held, but the worth of the vial in the peddler's hand
Dice Sense Motive:
1d20 12
seemed like a con in itself. Vyxl didn't enjoy the fact that his gold was now worthless, still he wouldn't give up on the rest of his coin. He made his way to try to find a blacksmith, surely they would have some sense to the precious metal, and if all else failed he would smelt down the gold and make a fine cup for himself.
