Place in family Bernice's son-in-law, married to her middle child, Arabella High concept Respected, retired former police chief. Trouble Not slow at telling people when he thinks they're wrong. Also has little respect for those who don't work for a living. Aspect Brutally honest. Age Early 60s Career and hobbies Tom was a highly respected police officer. When he was a detective, he closed several major cases. However he was a victim of his own success and kept getting promoted. Eventually he got promoted to police chief, a position he hated as it took him away from crime solving. Tom was always professional and served the community well, until his retirement. Hobby wise he likes watching the old 1950s sitcoms. The Phil Silvers show is a particular favourite. The one time he was completely speechless was when he got to meet Dick Van Dyke as part of his job. He also likes to dance, and enjoys cooking. Immediate Family His marriage to Arabella is a happy one despite the age difference. Two sons, Andrew who works as an ADA, and Jack who works for the coastguard. IssuesAlthough the age gap has never bothered either Tom or Arabella, other family members did have a problem with Tom being about 10 years older. Even tried to prevent the union. Tom never entirely forgave her father trying to bribe him to leave her. His penchant for brutal honesty has not exactly endeared him to other family members either. Whilst staying with the Smiths his grandfather's pocket watch went missing. Whilst of little monetary value, it was of great sentimental value. He would love to find it so he can pass it on to his eldest too, as his father did. He was unable to focus on searching for it at the time, as he was recalled to deal with a major case. The inheritance Tom doesn't give a crap about it. He would much rather Bernice gave it all to charity.

Hi Acathala. Thanks for the interest. Tom looks like a fine addition. We might have to rephrase some of the character aspects to be more Fate-aligned, but their a good indication of the concept. Maybe Tom could be one of the critics of Rowan's career choices. Anyway, applications will close in a few hours, and we'll move on to the next phase.

Just an update for the curious; I haven't had much luck working out a character I like enough to want to play long-term, so I'm going to withdraw for now. Feel free to hit me up if you need players at a later time, though hopefully it doesn't come to that.
Enjoy the game, everybody!

If you have room for one more I would be happy to toss in a down on his luck gambler, though in all fairness I have never played the system but there seems to be an SRD so I am sure I could figure it out

Hi OneDarkness. Go ahead and run your character concept past me (via PM please), and I'll seriously consider it. I think we have room for one more.
