Barkskin DATA & BIO Real Name: Ouji Atsutane Street Name: Barkskin Metatype: Troll Age (Born): 19 (2061) Sex: Male Height: 8'5" Archetype: Mystic Adept (Summoner / Brawler) Metatype: B, Attributes: A, Skills: D, Magic: C, Resources: E. Description: Like all trolls, Barkskin is big, built like an ox, and possessing those trademark horns. His grey skin is covered in tattoos of dragons, demons, and yokai, alongside bruises and cuts from his last fight. He's remarkably poised, even in a scape, keeping his back straight and his head held high, and his self-confidence and pride oozes out of every pore. He rarely engages is streetspeak or swears, instead speaking in antiquated, overly-formal fashion. He is also something of a softie, upholding a code of honor that refuses to let innocents get caught in crossfire, and has a reputation for letting jobs go bad just to achieve that. He never lies, never steals, never cheats... feck, sometimes he even bows to opponents he's just pummeled with his bare fists. Still, there are plenty of jobs that don't involve his morality, or let his strangeness get in the way. As such, Barkskin has been quite successful as a bodyguard, where his natural intimidation stops most fights before they start. Background:   Bark was born in Barcelona, during the Year of the Comet. His family, of Japanize decent, had fled their homeland when trolls and orks were being rounded up and sent to Yomi Island for the crime of simply goblinizing, and Bark grew up hearing stories about how wonderful the island had once been. Of course, the Year of the Comet had been especially destructive to the Imperial State. As Bark grew up, he watched the empire crumble and lose territory... but it still survived. Under new rule, with new policies and open arms to metahumans, Barkskin and his family saw their chance to return. The only hitch? Money. Money makes the world go round, and that meant Bark's world stayed perfectly still, right there in Barcelona, Spain. He knew in his head that he had skills to perform more lucrative jobs. Less than legal jobs. He had been born awakened. He had been trained in martial arts. He was bigger and tougher than almost anyone. But his own family would never approve of that life. They insisted that he work hard, save up, study, and find a nice job in a corporation. After a decade or two of that, who knows? Maybe then he could go home. Bark was pretty bad at studying. But he was decent at math. And by his calculations, even if he did get hired into a cushy office job, he'd never save up enough to take his whole family back home.
