Game System PF 2e - Starting with the beginner box adventure, and segwaying into Troubles in Otari, a three part module. By the end of that you'll be level 5 and Gauntlight becons.

Plot Summary The small seaside town of Otari is known for its fresh fish and skilled sailors, but above all, it’s a big logging town, providing valuable wood to the nearby metropolis of Absalom. But for you, Otari is home. You grew up playing on the docks, getting lost in the nearby woods, and hearing the fantastical stories of travelers from faraway lands, tales of terrifying dragons and virtuous knights. Such adventure always seemed so distant—until today! Word has begun to spread around Otari that there’s a problem down at the Otari Fishery. Some are saying that some sort of beast is lurking in the basement, feeding on the stores of salted fish. Folks are worried that whatever is eating the fish might get hungry enough to eat the fishers next! You’ve received a letter from Tamily Tanderveil, the owner of the Fishery. Inside is a desperate plea for help. With the town guard busy protecting the loggers, she needs a few brave souls to venture down into the basement of her warehouse and put an end to the beast that’s feasting on her fish! Do you have the courage to face the menace under Otari?

Character Creation This will be a standard Pathfinder 2e game, with the following restrictions: At level one Ancestry, Background and Class (ABCs) will be limited to those in the Beginner Box. Any items, feats, or spells that are not in the beginner box will be subject to my approval. Anchestries: Dwarf Elf Human. Backgrounds: Acolyte Criminal Deckhand Farmhand Gambler Scholar Warrior Classes: Cleric Wizard Rogue Fighter. After level 1, I'll be more open to more options, but I want to keep it simple for the start. The Pre-gens from the BB are absolutly fine to use. Cleric - Dwarf Fighter - Human Rogue - Elf Wizard - human Characters can be built using either the rules int he BB or the core rulebook with the above restrictions. I'm happy to have players who are new to Pathfinder, Pathfinder 2e, or role playing in general on this one.

FAQ Characters are not required to put your name in! We can cover character creation once we have people. Players new to PF2 are absolutely welcome, may even get priority depending how things go.

I have not played 2e yet but have read the rulebook.

Previous RP experience is a couple games of PF 1e on these forums and a lot of dnd 3.5 in person back in the day.

Question. Just looking through the players guide in the beginner box. It gives you ability score increases differently them the core rulebook. Do you want us to follow that or use the core rulebook but restricted to things in the beginner box. I am not sure it produces different results but wanted to bring it up just in case.

Like Whispers, I've played PF1.0. Would you take players who haven't played 2.0 yet but are interested in learning?

Interested - can we use a pregen character from the box? I would like to use a spell caster. I promise that I have Not read the adventure.

@Sorcerious: The beginner box presents the characters slightly differently, it only worries about the modifiers, but the underlying stats are the same. Building a character with the BB rules, or with the normal PF2 rules will end up the same, or close enough to not worry about.

I'm absolutely happy to take people who haven't played PF2 before, this is the perfect place to have a look at it.

@thawizkid - If you want to go with a pre-gen, go for it.

As far as applications go, I'm looking for interested/commited(?) people, and probably I'll go first come first served but I'll leave it a week and if there's lots of applications may look at characters next (or take a bunch of new to PF2 people through or....) we'll see.

Interested in joining this group! I have played a little bit of PF 2.0 (one or two short lived games) but, like others here, have more experience with PF 1.0 and D&D. Still intrigued to actually dip my toes into the new waters.

Would like to play either a fighter o Rogue.

Hey, interested as well.

Like most of us, I'm well versed in DND and PF, but I haven't touched PF2 at all. Then again, it's always nice to try out a new system, and this game seems perfect for that!
Long story short: I'll be happy to delve into the bowels of the fishery and slay that... Dragon? Hungry cat? Fishery owner trying to scam the insurance company?

Ok. I'm going to go with you 6 (if you're all still there ). Let's start working some Character ideas.

I've updated the top post with the broad strokes. With 6 players there will be some doubling up of rolls. Anyone who wants to play a pregen let me know and I'll work out sending you the PDF character sheet.
