I was so close to do that with a 3.5 game! Then the party I was about to play with lost half its players due to real-life stuff and I had to take on a more "normal" role..

Lord Sebastian

Bast
Lord of Horse and Hunt
Far from Court is the best place for me to make my mark.

Race: Human Sex: Male Class: Swashbuckler/HunterAge: 42 Height: 6'2" Weight:185

Always a little too scruffy for Court, and dressed to finely for the fields, yet Sebastian finds himself at home wherever he is. He exudes a raw maleness that makes women want him, men want to be him, and [Except for those attempting to kill him or manipulate him; although even some of those have succumbed.(almost) all desire to befriend him. Despite his rugged good looks he never comes across as a threat to man or woman, noble or commoner. Unless, at the last moment, he does intend them harm. This has been most uncommon, at least until he was forced out by those who would harm him or the Kingdom.

Seeing himself treated well because of who his father was, Sebastian requested, and was granted a position as a Junior Officer with the Ranger Corps. He returned to the Royall Court after ten distinguished years with the Army, visiting often at the Ducal Court. Still, he is just as likely to be found outdoors and on the hunt. After the hunt is complete, he can often, too be found in a Fancy Exclusive pub or run down lowlife ub,, it seems not to matter, where he is when his thirst awakens.Pub chatting with the people there.

Wasn't on the site then, so that doesn't count!

Name: Greystone
Race: Grey Troll
Class: Druid>Menhir Savant>Dream Touched
Party Role: Support Staff/Crowd Control/Healer

AppearanceWith chin raised and eyes gently closed, Greystone's horns softly parted the leaves that brushed against his grey, mottled skin. The densely shaded glen slowly gave way as his tall lanky form "tromped" into the clearing. Taller than most, Greystone towered above the other rock dwellers, standing nearly 8ft tall. But if asked by those who knew him, it was the green sheen of moss that stained his grey, clay like skin, they noticed first. "It seemed like it was a part of him," For others, it was the small patches of mud, caked upon his hands and feet. "Tiny mushrooms and little shoots were tangled and matted in his hands." The dark, claw-like wooden staff he carried, the leathers and pack he wore, almost all seemed out of place by his uncouth appearance. But sometimes, when the spirits took him and aroused his curiosity, he would draw the flared end of his staff close to his face like a mask. "Held like that, it seemed he could look right into you with those piercing blue eyes."

PersonalityGreystone was fond of wandering deep into the high country of his homeland. Sometimes he would chance upon a henge of stone work where his thoughts would linger. The quiet spell that followed could last for days when he returned if he let it. But outbursts of laughter were not uncommon but could come at inappropriate times. "He could surprise you, that one, with his hardy laugh and deep, gravely voice! But his words were always kind, I thought." Often he was tapped by his kin to trade amongst the valley folk as he was more akin to dealing with outsiders. The experience of working with others helped soften his rough edges and helped kindle an interest in languages. As agreeable as he might be, there were other days where his tone was distant and somber. "Like he was staring into another world." At those times his words and actions took on an odd and cryptic tone. "I've seen him hold up that staff of his and cover half his face and speak in the strangest way." But he was always kind to the "little ones". Without prejudice, he would tend to the injuries of man, animal or plant, depending on his inclination. "But he had a sorrowful temper and tone for those who would seek to hurt others, feeling a compulsion to help protect those less able to do so for themselves."

Background/Motivations The tribe that Greystone belonged to was nomadic and favored the high country and deep forest. When the hard winter months held fast, they would head to the lower hills and spend their time trading with the locals. They were honest folk and shied away from conflict. The "Grey-Folk," as they had come to be called, wandered the Flint Stone Mountains and wore no banner or crest on their handmade outfits.

Greystone shared various duties amongst the clan, but when the chance came to wander where the elders gathered amongst the great stones, he would go. The "Far-Seers" as they had come to be known to him seemed to commune with the stone itself and would sit there for hours in the deep glen. He would sit there with them for a time until hunger called him back and he would leave them there, covered in the autumn colors left by the trees they sat beneath.

One day, as Greystone gathered wood, he was visited by one of the Far-Seers, Greytounge, and he said, "It is said that there are those who are called by the very mountains themselves.... If called, how would you answer?"

Geystone stared at him in silence, then said, "I would drop this wood where I stand and heed their call."

Grytounge nodded his head approvingly. "Then let it be said that you shall spend a time in the high country and we will shall see what becomes of you upon our return."

In this way, Greystone had been chosen and so Greystone left for a time to walk in the mountains beneath the shadows of the great standing stones he often sought during his wanderings.

Greystones' time in the high mountains may have lasted longer than he'd imagined. At first, it was the wild things that claimed him as he watched the seasons pass. His body lay covered in their droppings as he was consumed by the very earth around him. Before long, a darkness gripped his heart that brought a terrible fear and he thought to flee, only to stumble and fall. Alone he passed the time in silence as he wept at as his shame until a light filled his eyes. He followed the light deep inside and beyond the darkness. In this way, he found the very heart of the stone itself and he stayed there.

When he opened his eyes it was dusk and the land had returned. He was covered in earth and green where he stood. He watched as the wild things crept around him. No longer did he see just the animals or the trees, but the very life energy that surrounded them. It was not just these things that he saw, but those things that had also passed from this life and yet lingered, unawares. When he returned to his tribe he was welcomed by the elders, but the rest of his clan had all but changed save a few.

Upon his return, he found that his interests had changed such that he was approached one day and asked a question by Greytounge. "All things come and go... it is the nature of things... to change. How is it, then, that you seek to help those still caught in this cycle?"

Greystone thought and said, "It is not just their light, I see, but their hearts as well. Who am I to deny their desire? If I may bring aid to those that seek to grow... in light, then I fit myself to their need as best I can." He paused, "And if I can find those still lost in darkness, who am I to deny them passage from this world where they may finally know peace?"

"Then it is time for you to go and tend to those you seek," Greytongue said, "Return to us if you will, when your time with them is done." And so Greystone left his tribe in the mountains with the blessings of the elders and the gifts afforded to him by his clan to venture through the lowlands into the lives of man.

Called in this way he ventured into The Gilded Feather the nicest tavern in Lansk. He sought to help find one of the "little ones" that was lost and to bring her home as safely as could be managed.

I'm sorry but I can't seem to find any time for myself here lately. I work full time at a tire shop and come home to take care of my 82 yo granny in the evenings. She is home bound and needs my help.

I wish I had the time to play in this but it seems ill advised for me to try it for now.
