I'm sure you can run it in M&M no problem, but FATE is more of a matter of preference. It has a stronger focus on the narrative and story rather than the rules and mechanics which I think would only bog down the game. Compels are excellent for this as One Punch Man has a lot more personal drama than most comic books or shounen Mangas.
Besides, I actually don't really like d20. |

before I go ahead and do a write up, is a character crossing over from another "reality" (AKA from a different IP) acceptable? I was kicking around the idea of trying to roll up my character from Destiny after getting kicked across multiversal space-time by some unkownable entites' Super Space Magic, and winding up "here". wanted to get your ok before writting it up, if not I'll see what i can come up with for a different character.

Name: Gylther, The Walking Storm
High Concept: Bare handed monster hunter with the soul of a thunderstorm Trouble: "hey diddle diddle, straight up the middle" is bout as subtle as tactics and planning get with him. not dumb, just brutally direct in combat Description: massively muscled with tanned skin, a huge mane of black hair, and stormy grey eyes, Gylther often gets thought of as the personification of a thunderhead even before folks see his powers in action. he's cocky and gregarious, with a booming thunderous voice. quick with a smile and a quip both in and out of combat. grew up working in his parents bar, first as a dishwasher, and then as he grew into himself as a bouncer, he left working there for Heroing after his powers awoke when he was struck by lighting while watching a storm on the bar's roof. found that he has a knack for this kind of stuff, and truly enjoys being a hero. Power: Super strength, massively Durable, and able to generate Lightning across his arms, and legs. Struck by a weird multi-colored lighting bolt while watching a storm from the roof of his parent's bar, when he woke up his powers had awoken, and with a few days of experimenting he started to figure out how to... at the very least not electrify/crush what ever he was trying to touch or use. Aspects: "God dammit, I LOVE MY JOB!" -Gylther loved being a bouncer, and he Loves being a Hero, every. damned. minute. of it. "dunno why I got these powers, but better make use of them." -he's never really questioned why he got powers... and doesn't fully understand how they work. "He's not -that- big" -thoroughly confident in his ability to directly overcome any opponent. Writing Sample: "Mom, dad... I'm going to the register with the Hero Association." Gylther's parents regarded each other silently for a moment, he waited for their response, only a small peal of electricity arcing from one hand to the bronze bell mounted on the door betrayed his nervousness. "Are you sure, son?" his father regarded him gravely "even after how many Heroes were lost during the Last God-level threat?" Gylther nodded furiously, his great black mane of hair shaking as he did. "Of Course! The world needs heroes, and with... what ever happened during that storm, I'm obviously meant to be one of them!" The sentence finished as almost a thunderclap in volume, his features almost frantic with excitement. "Can you wait one day for use to process our reponse? Sense it appears you've decided to go what ever we say..." Gylther's mother said quietly, nodding towards the duffel bag sitting next to the doorway. Gylther quietly rumbled, "Of course, the train to the city doesn't leave until tomorrow anyway. is there anything I can help with tonight here?" here we go, what do you think? |

This sounds great. I really enjoy the series.
Need to think about other aspects. if you have any suggestions would be interested to hear them. Last edited by Bhelliom Rahl; Jan 6th, 2016 at 11:47 AM. Reason: Updated Writing Example & Aspects |

@felloffalot, summerdruid: I look forward to seeing your apps!
@Gylther: Looks good, but I would focus more on who your character is as a person and what his life is like. Does he have any quirks? What does he like to do? God level threats are also extremely rare since they threaten the extinction of humanity as opposed to a city or five. @Bhelliorn Rahl: Arthur Drake sounds a bit too powerful for C class and I don't like the idea of him being a reincarnation of a God. That idea is played far too straight and I'd prefer at least some sense of irony to it, like his parents telling him so only to build up his confidence for instance (there are a few ways to make some clever reversals to this). Pig God, one of the original S class heroes in the series was also about eating everything. @Ulvarr: Keep in mind you'll be starting out in the game as a new C class. @everyone: On your aspects and such , don't focus too much on your powers. I'm looking more for who they are as a person and how they are connected with the world. They had a life before registering as a hero, what was it? Do they have any friends, enemies, etc? Thanks! I should have the app up in a few days.
I would have had it up earlier but the New Year happened and I'm Scottish so was expected to celebrate with a fair fegree of effort.

Name: Roland Stone, alias "Wise Blade"
High Concept: Earnest Knight-Errant Trouble: Many Seek the Sword Description: Roland wears his blonde hair short and approaches everything with as much dedication as he can muster. He has been trained in both the martial and scholarly arts, but has never before had cause to use his talents. The disappearance of his master has led him to join the Hero Association in hopes that someone there can help him find him. Power: Roland is a trained swordsman and wields the Sword of Storms, a mighty longsword that can unleash powerful wind and electricity in the hands of the right user. The sword is well-known among swordsmen, and now that its prior wielder is gone many have a mind to claim it for themselves to rebuild the world according to their designs. Aspects: Searching for his Master - Roland's master swordsman disappeared while engaging a mysterious being, leaving only his sword behind. The Pen is Mightier - Despite his being a student of the sword, Roland's foremost training was in his intellect, and knows his way around a library. Protect the Sword - More than anything, even finding his master, protecting the Sword of Storms from evil is Roland's most important task. Writing Sample: "Congratulations on being accepted into the Hero Association." The man behind the desk spoke without emotion, neither mocking nor earnestly praising. "I understand that you already had a request?" "Yes," Roland said. "There was an attack a few months ago, a shelter nearly destroyed, but the monster was never found. It was why I wanted to become a hero." The man behind the desk didn't speak, and instead studied Roland passively. "I was hoping to find out whatever you knew about it." Two seconds ticked on the clock behind Roland, above the door, before the man answered. "I'm afraid our recordkeeping hasn't been quite the best since the disaster. I can have someone check for you, but it would be best not to get your hopes up." Of course it couldn't be that easy. "Well," Roland said, rising from his seat. "I thank you for whatever help you can give me." The man nodded but didn't rise, leaving Roland to see himself out. As Roland was closing the door behind himself, however, his ears caught the sound of pencil on paper. So accustomed to the world of paper and books, and senses so keen from his training, the man may as well have been writing on a blackboard for Roland to see: "Observe Mr. Stone". |
