I edited Bob's power slightly. He now "Absorbs" a monster's trait/power and can use it himself. His first monster only gave him increased strength--I'm thinking he looks like Puri Puri Prisoner when he transforms right now.

Sidenote concerning the scanner: I read somewhere that One is considering giving King latent powers that will come out eventually. I like this idea, though I also like him not really having any powers and is just bluffing people to death.

Considering the raw terror he instills in monsters, I don't think it would be odd to say that he had some sort of mental power. No good if he can't stand a hit, but the whole point of the series is that people become stronger if they want to be heroes, so it wouldn't even be cheap for him to become one for real.

Whether or not King gets actual powers I'll still find him an interesting character. If he does get powers I'd prefer it to be late in the series (webcomic or not). You get a hint of it in the webcomic, but it's debatable whether it was in his imagination.

Application Name: Scat Attack Jhoni Mangus High Concept: Star-seeking Lounge Singer with a voice you can swing to Trouble: Not...actually a Hero. Oh, well. This is sort of awkward. See, Jhoni wants to be a famous Jazz musician. Not a famous superhero. See, jazz players get adoration on a stage. Not the panicked cries of a debris-strewn streets. The only smoke they get in their lungs is the one from the cigarettes of their bass player. The single responsibility is showing up to the show on time, and even that gets some leniency. And no murderous monster was ever the nemesis of a jazz musician, that’s for sure. Is it fair to make a guy save people when he doesn’t even want to be a part of it all? Well, it’s not. But with his chaos-causing voice not even the grungiest run-down back alley club is going to let him sing. So if Mangus wants to get his voice known, let-alone even putting out a single? He’s going to have to hit those mean streets. Oh, ah...geez. Those are some mean looking streets. What a hassle. Description: Mangus is short, stocky, and easily confused for a small pile of bricks. Before he popped that ‘super’ cherry lozenge on his tongue he was a bit pudgy from too much late night bar food and final set free drinks. Now, he’s blocky from the constant stress of trying to be a musician-turned-super hero. At least he still has his hair, brown and straight that he never lets grow out beyond an inch. Blurry blue eyes that suffer a bit from the night owl’s bag, a forward and almost protruding nose. He makes up for it with a killer voice. Scat Attack’s costume is a blue and white zoot suit with a bandana pulled up to cover his face, even if his nose does make it bulge a bit. Honestly the thing makes him look like a tarp but it was the most heroic looking costume in his closet. It usually comes with start-studded gloves for a bit of that jazz hand flair. Jhoni is a man who dedicated his life to a passion, and then found his method of making a living off that passion promptly denied to him. You can imagine he’s a bit salty over that. A dour and gloomy mood has pervaded the man’s life. A depression caused by the destruction of his art...and his art of destruction. Laziness pervades equal measure with his heroics. He’s a singer, not a fighter. There’s nothing fun or enjoyable about being fighting monsters and saving people. You’d have to be crazy to want to do it! Or forced into the situation through events that are spiralling far out of your control. He’s just trying to make the best out of a bad situation, please just share some sympathy. It’s not his fault if he doesn’t seem enthused while saving innocent bystanders from bloodthirsty beasts or mad bombers. He never intended to be here either. Power: The unfortunate test-subject of an experimental throat lozenge, Scat Attack took the one dose out of all the trials with a little extra oomph in it. Now his voice causes pure chaos with every bar sung. Whenever Jhoni harmonizes, he creates the resonant frequency of a random object in his vicinity, causing it to vibrate at such a wavelength as to create a self-sustaining loop that will make the afflicted item shake itself to pieces. Nicolas Tesla was a badass. Now imagine that happening on every note and octave to the surrounding area. Turning a jazz song, into a veritable field of destruction. Just don’t ask him to play the saxophone. Aspects: ...But Someone’s Gotta Do It- Scat Attack has the uncanny ability to swoop in at the nick of time. Probably because he was waiting until the last possible second for someone more appropriate to step up. Check out the Free Demo- Most people wrongly assume Jhoni is a superhero with a musician gimmick. In fact, he’s a musician with a superhero gimmick. The only place he can play his tracks live with acceptable collateral is fighting crime, and he can only hope one day he saves a passing record producer. Can’t We Just De-escalate?- He’ll always try and talk things out first. But that’s not because he believes in the good of everyone, but because it gives him a chance to not have to fight.

The deadline is up! I wholeheartedly thank everyone who applied! There wasn't a lot of interest relative to most games, and as much as I'd like to just send everyone who posted a PM, I can't carry that much workload unlike a few super GMs on this site.
