Well I told my self I wouldn't but then I knew I was going to anyway. This sounds like a game I will make time for. Ships, pirates, drowning oh my.

Name: Tandith Arnor
Race: Human - Varient
Alignment: Neutral
Class: Ranger/Rouge (because I'm not really sure what makes sense with the back story)

Personality: As the eldest son he was always given responsibility and trusted to work by his own devices this developed an initiative that could grow into leadership he Tandith allowed it. Growing up on a small island with only his direct family to talk to he isn't the best conversationalist in the world but thanks to his mother he has manners and respect for others.
Traits: Has his eyes set on the long term goal but wants to experience the wider world before settling back home.
Bonds: His father installed his dream of what their island could be on his sons. Tandith has that vision and with the knowledge his mother gave him he knows how. He wishes to return to his island home and raise a family of his own.
Sink the White Cap, the ship responsible for his families death.
Flaws: A rage has been building in Tandith ever since he found out what happened to his family. Any word of the ship the 'White Cap' will bring on a senseless drive for revenge that will most likely end his life.

Background: Custom 'Diver'
Skills: Athletics & Survival
Language: choose one language common to the area you have been for the passt two years.
Proficiencies: One gaming set.
Feat: Having trained your lungs for diving you have a larger capacity for air and can stay underwater longer than most. When rolling for length of time you can stay under water always roll at advantage, unless disadvantaged.

Finished save for the back story tweaks.

Deadline is 25th according to the OP - so probably still open?

As a background question, the Norse Gods are the ones worshiped - is this universal, universal among humans or just that any folks worshiping other Gods are considered heretics who could not deal in normal society? Or some other option? I'm mainly wondering how accepted Thor is among those who are neither giants nor giant world straddling serpents and whether other pantheon Gods will be more or less allies who argue or mainly competition who barely admit the others exist.

Other Pantheons are certainly around, consider them the same way that Buddhism and Christianity both coincide in the world. They're not hostile towards one another, talking about Buddha in the Vatican is abnormal. If you want to use another deity as your go-to, feel free!

And yes, the deadline is the 25th. You have all weekend!

I'm happy with Thor - and it would need a complete rewrite of Sweyn if I changed. Thanks for the clarification.

Ignore my previous application please.

Name: Olathok
Race: Half-Orc
Alignment: Lawful evil
Class: Fighter (2) / Barbarian (1)
Background: Sailer

Personality:
* Never have been the one to give orders but always follow them hasn't disheartened Olathok and he was always happy to follow so long as they didn't get him or other friends dead. When on the boat his mind is on his job, when on the dirt his mind is his own and free to dream or ponder other avenues than tying rope or slicing throats.

Ideal:
* A good and honourable death.

Bond:
* Olathok, having worked on many ships, is quick to latch onto a group of like minded people.
* Finding out the meaning of the vision and fulfilling it. A ship and crew to call his own. Men and Woman not affraid to die for him.
* Always willing to take out (Kill or dismember) an employee of the company that turned Olathok into a refugee. Loves upsetting their bottom line.

Flaws: Having being indoctrinated from a young age into believing that a good well fought death will get you into a special alcove in the Afterlife. Olathok is prone to looking for fights that may kill him.

Spent the last years of his life reaving until he discovered an ancient Dwarven Artifact showing him a glimpse of the future where there was more to life than looking for a good honourable death. Olathok left the ship on which he had had serve for nearly ten years to join the archeological mission in hopes of gaining riches and glory that would make him legendary and feared through out the islands.

Olathok Evil Aligned:

I like lawful evil because it means although they are evil they still follow a strict code of rules. Olathok has no qualms killing an innocent person or even a child but it doesn't mean he'll attack anyone who calls him stupid or questions his courage.
Coming from a ship where you have to rely on the others around you and do your job or everyone may die, working with good aligned characters is no problem even if that means Olathok needs to sneak away by himself to kill off someone in the way of progress that the others 'know' should be killed but won't because their weak consciousnesses won't allow them to.
He also understands that having people like you means they may respect you and that most of the time a loyal ally is better than a fearful and bullied servant.
TimeI will strive to flesh this out, but most of the information will be the same as what is in our negotiation for the character.

Name: Djabaran
Race: Minotaur
Class: Ranger
Background: Sailor
Age: 22

Appearance: Other sailors marvel at Djabaran's ability to wear scale mail and still Mariner fighting style FTWswim and climb with ease. Minotaurs, of course, are not exactly uncommon here in the archipelago, their natural inclination towards the sea drawing them like... well, like sailors to a bottle of rum. However, some debate has arisen recently about whether there might be subraces of minotaurs native to the local islands. Any time a minotaur shows up with an unusual hair coloring or horn shape, rumors abound. So far, no definitive proof has been found. Djabaran himself has the standard dark, coarse fur and bull's horns. He is never without his sailor's gear (gaff hook, bill, rope, and so on), nor without his pair of short swords.

Personality and History: However, he is not the swaggering bully that is the stereotype of his kind. While other sailors are practically rioting in taverns, Djabaran spends a great deal of time by himself, either on land or in one-person craft, exploring the nooks and crannies of the "settled" islands, and gazing towards those that aren't. He has wanted to see them since first arriving in the Archipelago five years ago, and now it seems like the perfect opportunity to do so has come his way.

While waiting, with ever-growing impatience, for some way to make it to the inner, southern island, Djabaran has taken on various jobs. He has been a deckhand, a guide for wealthy tourists (tiresome but lucrative), and a guard for important shipments (employers appreciated his taciturn stoicism). He has traveled, fought, and sweltered besides members of every race and nation. Despite this diversity of experience, he has made few lasting friendships.

One of the few is with Trimartas, Captain of the Dawnseeker, a small, swift trading vessel where Djabaran served as bosun for a few seasons. Trimartas is himself a Minotaur, but seems to understand Djabaran's alienation from the rest of his race, without being affected by it. Indeed, Djabaran is half in awe of the older Minotaur's leadership skills—he knows that such feats are beyond him. But he is grateful to have a mentor and friend in one so accomplished.

Traits: Taciturn, intrepid
Ideal: Discovery of new places is my calling in life.
Bond: Trimartas, a Minotaur merchant ship captain I've worked for in the past
Flaw: Impatient
