Name: Walter Ace Anson
Gender: Male Age: 24 Class: Hunter Starting Pokemon: Houndour, Carvanha, Deino (rare) Personality: An easy going cop really, he jokes around, says all of the stereo typical cop lines "It must be illegal to have a pretty face like that." When it comes to catching criminals and thugs, however he takes his job seriously. Walter always plays the good cop, never overstepping his boundaries and always playing within the law. Walter likes to help people in need and always rushes to someones aid when called for help, regardless of if that puts him in danger. Background: Raised on the flotilla it was only natural for Ace to want to protect his home when he grew up. To that end he became a police officer. In the academy he was at the top of his class before graduating and being given his partner canine pokemon. As the others were given Growlithe, Walter was given the option to choose from other canines. He chose the Dark / Fire type Houndour and the two have been friends ever since. Houndour is never kept inside of its ball, unless he is forced to be. When some of the flotilla was attacked by Sharpedo, many officers were called to remedy the situation. After many battles the pokemon eventually fled, leaving behind some of their injured and young. That is when Walter met his Carvanha, after battling he hit it with a ball and it was captured successfully. When at home he tends to let the fish out of its ball and into an aquarium. Deino was captured when Walt got a call about a wild pokemon biting people. Walt watched the Deino bite random objects like the floors and other strange objects before announcing himself. When he did the pokemon approached and bit off Ace's belt spilling pokeballs all over the ground. Next the pokemon lifted a pokeball and opened it, thus triggering its own capture. Name: Lana Cornett
Age: 25 Gender: Female Occupation: Mechanic/engineer Class: Capture specialist/Engineer Starting pokemon: Horsea, Omanyte and Joltik Personality/Description: Lana stands at around 6'0 with a well tanned skin and dyed red hair that falls just shot of her shoulders, held from her face with a pair of clips at both temples. She has a curvaceous figure trimmed by plenty of time running from ship to ship and good co-ordination with it. Lana's a very friendly person, the kind to always shout a greeting to someone she knows, and her job takes her all over the flotilla. Her soft emerald green eyes and the Robotic arm that's attached to her right shoulder are perhaps the only hints that she ever wasn't this generally happy go lucky. Background: Lana was born on the flotilla, her parents were divers and fishing folk, they divided their time between gathering food, diving for valuables when the flotilla passed over such areas and caring for their daughter. As soon as she was old enough to know one end of a spanner from the other, she started insisting that her father teach her to help keep the engine of their boat running and her knowledge only expanded from there. By the time she was in her preteens she was apprenticed to one of the main engineers of the flotilla, always at the old man's heels and absorbing information like a sponge. Lana became a common face around Meander, usually the first to come running when a ship started having issues. When she was thirteen, she went fishing with her father and found a young Horsea had become entangled in the nets. After a while and several shots of ink to her face, she managed to calm down the panicking water type. It's flailing had injured it, so she kept it in a tank on their boat, caring for her until she healed. By the end of a week, Snipes had become a constant companion to Lana. A few years later, she moved into a room on one of the re-purposed cruise ships, making enough working as an engineer to get by comfortably. Her eighteenth year was....tumultuous to say the least. Her parents managed to salvage a helix fossil on one of their dives, one with enough material to re-create a living Omanyte. Nautilus soon become Snipes' companion, joining Lana on her jobs, or when she went for a swim. It was around this time that she become enamored with battling, occasionally swinging by the arena ships for her time off either taking part herself or making small bets. It was around this time that Lana was working on a long time issue with one of the ships, working with maybe a dozen other engineers while they were at a port to qualify what supplies would be needed. It was maybe only the second or third time that Lana had ever been ashore and she may have taken the opportunity to slip away from the harbor to explore the city. Outside of the more familiar is somewhat shifting layout of Meander, Lana soon found herself lost. Inevitably, she ran afoul of a group with "nefarious intent" is the only way she'd ever describe it when asked. Though Snipes and Nautilus defended her as best they could, she wasn't the most skilled trainer and the leader's Houndoom was too much even for the two water types. Before anything could really happen, Lana managed to flee, the sounds of the battle drawing law enforcement. But out of spite, the leader ordered his Houndoom to open fire on her, burning most of her right arm and a good amount of her shoulder with it's toxic flames. Lana was escorted back to Meander in a bad way. Her arm was on fire, and no amount of burn heal was helping. One officer even mushed up a rawst berry to slather over her arm, but it was a minor relief at best. The next 6 months was akin to torture for the poor engineer. She locked herself away, unable to work, unable to quench the pain. She openly threw herself into anything that could abate the pain, regardless of what her friends or family thought. She settled into a state of dull acceptance, this was her life now, like it or not. Salvation came at the next landfall for Meander at the massive port of Unova's Castelia city. Her parents forced their way into their daughter's near barricaded home and dragged her forcibly out of her solitude. Lana was at first resistant, even hostile to their actions, but when she realised what they were doing she was dumbstruck. Both her parents, and many of her workmates and friends, people who had seen what the still glowing burns had done to her had all got together and organised and paid for a procedure to replace her burned limb with a cybernetic one. Normally a service only offered to actual amputees, but Her parents had argued and pleaded her case, so it was allowed. When she woke up after the surgery Lana wept with joy. SHe was still in pain (heavily dulled thanks to the painkillers) but it was no longer the burning, searing pain that had plagued her months. Lana's gratitude to those around her was overwhelming. She made a promise to herself, her pokemon, and everyone who had aided her recovery that she would never fall like that again. Slowly, as she got used to her new appendage and recovered from the surgery and her previously self destructive lifestyle, the old happy Lana returned, working out and about the ships again, smiling laughing and joking with her workmates and playing with her pokemon. She felt like she had a new lease on life and embraced it. She wasn't completely the same. The phantoms of pain still haunted her, and sudden turns in the weather caused her pain, however brief it was made by the flotilla's weather watch. She was into her 20s and fully recovered by the time she found a little stow away on one of of the boats. After investigating a claim that the boat's generator was running through juice faster then projected, she located the problem, a hungry little Joltik. She lured the little bug type, later christened Aztech, away with a 9-volt, stowing him in her pocket and claiming the job was easy enough that she wouldn't charge. He became her most frequent companion around the boats, his electricity proving handy for a lot of the jobs. Though it took her some time to convince Snipes and Nautilus to not be so wary around him, the water types naturally on edge around an unknown electric type. Name: Edward King
Gender: Male Age: 19 Class: Telepath, Telekinetic, (Oracle?) Starting Pokemon: ![]() ![]() ![]() Personality/Description: Edward is a large person, standing 6’3” and has a small body on a large frame. He is often viewed as the creepy or scary guy standing in the background. He isn’t a creep, just looks like it. He is the quite type, wearing plain clothing. He spends a lot of time staring off in the distance or at other things that interests him. He tends to avoid people at times, mainly when he tires of accidently overhearing their thoughts. Background: Edward’s parents were both Psychics with useful powers for the floating city. Both were detectives in their own right; one working for the police and the other for the tax bureau. It was no surprise when their children started to display the psychic gift. Thanks to their parents Edward and his twin sister were able to understand and develop their powers with little difficulty. While in school Ed did well enough, he seemed to avoid anything that would be considered challenging. The exception was for weird or odd things. Edward is fascinated with the curiosities that get overlooked and things that are generally misunderstood. He occasionally likes to collect these uncommon things, almost feeling a bond with some of them. With the hodgepodge of vessels in the floating city gave him access to all sorts of out of the way places and hidden corners. Alyssa Reesind
(Ah-liss-ah Ree-sihnd) Gender: Female Age: 28 Class: Researcher/Breeder (Researcher primary) Occupation: Pokemon Caretaker (Effectively pokemon equivalent of human daycare/animal kennel) Starting Pokemon: Hull the ![]() Sassy Nature (+SpD, -Speed) Ability: Lightningrod Lady the ![]() Timid Nature (+Speed, -Atk) Ability: Flashfire Bullet the ![]() Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA) Ability: Sturdy Appearance Allyssa is slighter and less built than many inhabitants of the floating city, only standing a moderate five foot six at the crown of her head. She is more or less average in weight, though quite wide of hip and thick of leg, attributing towards a slight tip towards the 'more' side of the scale. Her skin is lightly tanned from typical exposure and is spotted with a multitude of various tiny nicks or scrapes, as well as some scars from previous encounters with Pokemon that had gotten a bit too rowdy for anyone's good. Her hair is long, thick, and loosely wavy, naturally a tangle of dirty blonde locks. She often prefers to tuck her unruly hair away in intricate braids, buns, or ponytails, styles to keep her hair from getting in the way or nipped or clawed at. Despite her efforts, she often suffers from 'flyaway' strands of hair around her forehead and the nape of her neck. Her eyes are almost always deceptively relaxed looking, partially lidded and a light, mixed shade of green-gray hazel. She dresses for a combination of utility and comfort, keeping very little on thoughts of fashion, at least on purpose. Her standard attire usually consists of blue jeans, a fitted, elbow length shirt or sweater, a pair of sturdy boots reaching to the shins, and a bandana tied loosely around her neck or waist. Personality Allyssa is a mixture of sweetness and bitterness blended into one. While she is generally a very affectionate and gentle individual, she suffers from bouts of bad temper and stubborness, though she tries her best to keep the former from others around her, fearing others will dislike her for it. She is a very loyal individual, both to her friends and family. This loyalty, however, can also lead to displaying Allyssa's vindictive, vengeful streak. Once someone has offended or otherwise upset her or someone she cares for, she is very unlike to forget and even upon forgiving someone for their discrepencies, she treats them a bit more cautiously. While cautious and a bit self-conscious, Allyssa is incredibly comfortable around most Pokemon, even large or frightening ones. Having been around Pokemon so closely for so long, she bonds easily and tightly with Pokemon and views them the same as human friends or family, rather than the simple pets or tools of battle some trainers treat them as. She is highly curious and loves to learn about new Pokemon or techniques, as well as delights in the moments she gets to share her knowledge with others. In line with her love of learning new things, she carries a thick book of paper for various notes, scribblings, and sketches of things she encounters or experiences. Background Allyssa's affinity for and love of Pokemon and everything about them and the new experiences the world has to offer stem largely from the fact that she was raised among Pokemon breeders, alongside countless litters pf a wide variety of Pokemon. From the time she was a small girl, she was exposed daily to Pokemon, ranging from those as harmless as a newborn Meowth to far more intimidating creatures like fully grown Gyarados - the latter of course under far more intense supervision. This upbringing, as well as encouragement of her curious nature, left her with a resounding ease regarding Pokemon, as well as many physical reminders that while they can make fast friends and powerful allies, can also be quite dangerous. There are very rarely any Pokemon that terrify the woman, though many do inspire her with the proper sense of caution and respect. However, as with everything, there are exceptions to the rule, her expection being the tenacious and aggressive Beedrill. Around the edge of nine or ten, Allyssa had a very negative run-in with a small party of Beedrill and to the day still finds her blood chilled when she hears the buzzing that heralds them. On the opposite side of the spectrum, she has a fondness for stout, solid Pokemon, such as the Nidoran and Rhyhorn families. Some of this favoritism may come from the fact her first Pokemon was a Rhyhorn from one of her breeder parents, which she showers with attention in her downtime from her job as a Pokemon Caretaker. Her next Pokemon was a runty Growlithe whom her parents were unsure would survive. Determined to see the Pokemon through, Allyssa convinced her parents to let her help nurse the weakly Puppy Pokemon to health. In the end, the Pokemon did manage to pull through, yet remained far more demure than the typical Growlithe, as well as having a distinct habit of tagging after Allyssa. Her Skarmory as well was a somewhat unusual acquisition, a Pokemon whose trust it took Allyssa many months to earn. Upon one day finding the Pokemon searching for food - likely following the scavenging Wingull that hung about many of the ships of the Meander - she began to feed the Pokemon some of the leftover food she had with her at the time. In the same area not long after, she came across the same Skarmory again and the acts before were repeated. For a long time after she encountered the steely bird over and over again, each time indulging it's scavenging with whatever suitable she had on hand. Feeding the Skarmory became as much of a routine for her as the rest of her duties and eventually the Pokemon seemed insistent on following her home, likely intent on finally finding the source of all the food. Posting interest and a few questions - 1) Exactly what system are you using? I have the book for Tabletop Adventures BETA 1.34, but if you have something else is it possible to link to the resources? 2) What's the application deadline?

Thanks for the interest clone. We will be using Tabletop Adventures. I think it's version 1.34. I'll double check after work. Right now assume the deadline is January 29th. For now I just woke up and will decide that latter. ^^
Edit : Checking my copy, It is 1.34. I think there is a version that goes up to gen 6. So if I can find that I'll give a link to it. Last edited by PandoraAwoken; Jan 15th, 2016 at 07:10 AM. |

Johnny Brockton Age:19 Gender:Male Class: Fire Breather, Arcanist, Marksman Occupation: Food Stand Operator, Part-Time Trainer Starting Pokemon: Houndour, Fletchinder, Beedrill Appearance Johnny is a very thin guy and slightly short at 5'6", though he is more wiry than frail. His hair is a deep auburn and defies all attempts to keep it from sticking out, and barely stops short of concealing his emerald green eyes. He tends towards darker and muted colors for clothing, and usually prefers hoodies to keep his hair in check. On the back of his left hand there is a tattoo of a four-part red/black diamond with the numbers '5' and '9' in red ink over the black sections. Unless directly engaged he tends to be quiet almost to the point of sullen, but once he steps into the conversation he can get extremely heated in the defense of his ideas. Background Even in the floating city of Meander, or perhaps because of it's nomadic tendencies, the powers of Science and Progress are hard at work. Among the more domestic ships are a number of research vessels, practically labs dropped wholesale onto barges, pushing against the barrier of humanity's knowledge. On one such ship the Human Evolution Institute is working tirelessly to define what separates the practically otherworldly lack of limitations in pokemon from the more mundane animals and humans. To that end they study the rare occurrence of psychics, mystics, and other supernaturally gifted individuals. They also conduct tests on anyone willing to undergo examination to discover if they too possess any latent gifts(or who could use the cash and have a week to spare). One such individual is Johnny Brockton, native born to Meander. As is the case with many Johnny had little interest in the institute's lofty goals but did have some time to kill one lazy summer and the allure of a new surfboard sealed the deal. He was just as surprised as the examiners when he turned out to actually posses a measure of pyrokinetic ability. Surprised, and not particularly pleased. Since tapping his talent the open ocean has made him slightly uneasy, akin to mild vertigo, and made it impossible to enjoy his previously favorite pass time. Moreover the discovery, entered into their database which the city authorities had oversight on, put him into the same 'hazard' category as a charmander('but a well trained one!', as the research assistant who informed him was quick to point out). Because of his new status he was required to relocate to a ship with an apartment complex built to house trainers specializing in fire-typed pokemon. However rather than becoming angry or depressed over the radical change in lifestyle he has opted to own his new abilities, symbolized by the diamond tattoo on his dominant hand symbolizing 'Incinerate'. He has kept up with weekly examinations and exercises run by the institute to help offset the added expense of specialist housing, and runs a food stand at the nearby training center largely consisting of meat on sticks hand-fried on the spot. While he hadn't originally planned to take up pokemon training when everyone in your neighborhood is a trainer, and most of your clients are their pokemon, you end up picking up a few things. One of them being a stray dog that showed up one day staring at the rows of meat-on-a-stick behind him with a pair of puppy dog eyes that could melt a steelix. After a couple days of tossing it table scraps figuring it to belong to a less-than-observant trainer in the area he discovered that it wasn't registered and was apparently a stowaway from a recent landfall. Unable to turn it away he took in the houndour, now named Pepper. Over the years he learned a bit more about raising pokemon, spending more and more of his off-time training, and picked up a few more strays. A Fletchling(now a Fletchinder) that had landed on the boat before becoming too afraid of the open ocean to fly back to land, and a Beedrill that assaulted his stand for nearly a week before he got annoyed and threw a spare pokeball(from a customer using it to pay for food) at it more to keep it from damaging his stall than because of any particular desire to expand his 'team'. Lia Manning
Age: 22 Gender: Female Class: Type Ace (Water) / Athlete Occupation: Fisher-woman /Part-time Trainer Background: Captain's Daughter: Adept Athletics, Novice Command, Pathetic Occult, Tech, Medicine Ed Starting Pokemon: Milotic, Spheal, Palipitoad Appearance: Lia towers over most other women her age at five feet and ten inches tall - though she's not the tallest woman on the flotilla by any means - and several years of working as a shiphand has left her at a muscled 150 pounds on her medium frame. Eschewing jewelry and decorations, Lia's go-to outfit is the jean coveralls and long-sleeved shirts that she wears to work. A headscarf prevents her nearly-shaved head from burning in the sun. Lia has a black and white tattoo of a coiled Gyarados on her back that she covers when she's on duty. Her arms, lower legs, and hands are scarred from her dangerous occupation as well as her side hobby. Lia is deeply tanned and squints a lot despite her sunglasses from time spent staring into the water. She has obvious tan lines around her whiter eyes and Several years of working as a shiphand has given her a strong body from moving and lifting heavy crates, fish, and lines. Her voice is slightly raspy and carries a southern Kanto accent from her parents. Personality: Lia is calm and relaxed in general, able to shrug off conflict with other people fairly easily. She has a strong work ethic and prefers to see jobs through to completion. She sees water living as superior to the day in - day out drudgery of a constant landscape, given her lack of experience and her familiarity with water Pokemon makes her prefer to hang out with them. When she gets angry, look out! She can get into a scrap as well as any sailor and her wrath is like a storm on an ocean. She enjoys swimming and athletic activity, keeping her body strong and sharp for anything that comes her way. Background: Lia has known no other home than the constantly changing Meander. Born to a captain of a fishing trawler and an ocean scientist, Lia running about with other children among the ships and boats that docked with the fleet. At an early age, she learned how to fish and swim from her father the captain and her mother home-schooled her, focusing highly on oceanography when she could. Lia rarely went ashore even when Meander anchored itself for several months, content with the offerings of the flotilla which were vast. When she was young, she rescued a Feebas from her father's nets while fishing in fresh waters, feeling sorry for the Pokemon. However, the teasing from her friends for having an ugly fish for a Pokemon was more than repaid when her friend changed into a giant water snake. For whatever reason, like the ugly duckling, people admired the Milotic far more than it's original form. Looking up the information, Lia figured out that her Feebas must have been abandoned by a person interested in coordinating that was trying to get a Milotic, but wasn't interested in raising the ugly fish enough for long enough to get one. It's attitude didn't seem to be affected by this, for it was a very bold Pokemon, always curious and adventurous. Her mother died young in an accident, and Lia joined her father on his fishing boat to help bring in income and keep a relationship with her remaining parent. However, she is starting to feel dissatisfaction with her life as it is and wonders what else she could do. Lia would like to find recognition for her training with water Pokemon, even among the Flotilla's many water-using Pokemon trainers. In addition to her Milotic, Lia found a friendly Spheal that followed her everywhere during a trip to a glacial shore for shipping ice. A day after Lia's ship pulled out, Lia discovered her friendly Spheal frantic and tangled up in fishing nets it had gone into due to the fish smell. Lia's Tympole was a birthday gift from a friend that didn't realize the water type was a fresh water Pokemon that could not easily swim about in the ccean. The Tympole must have been traumatized in the past by something, for she is a very timid creature, as cautious about everything as her Milotic was bold. However, Lia's discovery that Tympole's evolution was immune to electrical attacks helped endear her to the Pokemon that required more care than the others. She evolved soon after, and with encouragement, Lia thinks she can turn into a very strong battler.

Both Magikarp and Wooper evolve at level 20. I figured Gyarados was on your "semi-rare" list, so I evolved the fish. I figured having a 21 foot/500+ pound sea monster would be allowed in the Flotilla since Lia wouldn't be walking him over the ships and he could likely scare away smaller Pokemon rather easily.
![]() Is it okay if I evolve the Wooper to Quagsire? Wooper evolve at level 20 as well. I was unsure if you wanted us to have more than one Pokemon evolved if we have early evolvers. I also realized I could not take Water Ace until I got another Water Type. There's a surprising amount of Water Types that have stuff against Grass/Electricity. More than I thought, anyways.
