There's a difference between having no eyes and being unable to perceive light. They see through the force. They are only 'blind' to force-invisible creatures and in force suppressed areas. It doesn't even preclude not being able to see things that do not themselves have the force(objects, droids, etc). If a Miraluka cannot see a projection then a force vision or farseeing power would similarly be unable to see projections, screens, and droids. In fact I just noticed their Force Sight entry mentions being able to 'read and write as a sighted person'. |

Final ruling: I don't like this, the rules for this race were written too wishy washy. One minute they say you can't see anything that doesn't have a presence in the force and in the next sentence it says you can read and write. I still don't see that as being the same as using a terminal. My recommendation is to find a different species. I have yet to read anything about a force user sensing computer data.

Name: Gillom Flen Species: Ithorian Class: Scout 4 Appearance:Gillom is a typical looking Ithroian male. His skin is light tan in color, eyes are black. Gillom dresses in a non-descript reddish brown tunic. He doesn't appear in public with out his wooden staff, also not without his blaster at his side for added protection. Personality: Gillom has a friendly disposition and caring attitude with every one that he forms friendships with. He tends to have a deep connection with all living and can 'emphatically feels' things around him at times. Though he doesn't know how and why he can do it or what is called, although he believes that it might come from his peoples 'goddess' the mother jungle. So from a vary young age he has felt that deep connection with all living things around him. Character History: Gillom was born, raised and lived on one of the many herd ships that float above his home world of Ithor. Growing up on one of those herd ships he felt a strong bond with the life in and around, and below the ship that he grow up on. So he learned what he could about all of his worlds flora and fauna, and honing his emphatic abilities the best he could. As his Father was a mechanic aboard the ship and his mother was a doctors assistant with in a medical facility aboard one of the other herd ships. Gillom always dreamt to travel beyond the hardships and his home world to explore and see the galaxy, after he would see the many off world visitors that came to his world. When he finally came of age he left to explore the galaxy, leaving his home world behind. He traveled around the galaxy plying his skills as a mercenary to whom ever pays the most for those skills. Along the way he learned more about the galaxy and what was beyond the next star, eventually making his way to the outer rim. Character Specific Writing Sample: As Gillom faced down the gang of outlaws, beside his team. He focused on his surroundings as he reached deep inside with in, to anticipate any surprises that the criminals might through his way and threaten his team. That he could warn them to watch out for any. "Let the women go and we will stop firing on you." Gillom informs the band of outlaws, negotiating with them to let the women that they kidnapped go, that they were hired to kidnap. "That's all we want, an we will let you walk away unharmed." as a blaster bolt whizzes past him, pining him self an his team down. He then fires his blaster rifle at the nearest outlaw, hopefully hitting them with the bolt. One of the outlaws fires directly on Gillom, nearly hitting him with blaster fire. "No we will not hand her over to you, hammerhead." the leader of the outlaw gang yells out to Gillom from his position behind a wall. With the insult on his species Gillom remained clam and focused, to not to retaliate against them, as another blaster bolt whizzed past his shoulder almost hitting him. That one of the other outlaw gang members just fired upon him, trying to end the combat between the two groups quickly. Gillom reached out and focused on a near by light object with his mind and moves it towards the outlaw that he fired on before, hitting them with it. As one of the outlaws opens fire on Gillom's and his teams location, hitting one of his team mates. Reeling them backwards, injuring them. Gillom focus on another object nearby to thrust at the outlaws that hit his team mate with blaster fire. He throws it at the outlaw knocking them out. "Hand over the women and we'll stop our attack on you." he informs the remaining outlaws. "We surrender and you tell that jedi not to harm us." the outlaws call out from behind there position, of there cover. Gillom has a look of confusion and shock on his face being called a Jedi, despite hearing the name, though never learned about them or encountering one of them either. As the outlaw gang comes out with the women that they was hired to kidnap to hold as ransom.

Hey Pen,
I'm starting to build my droid, did you have a cost in mind? It's hard to know what my options are without an end goal. Thanks.

My theory comes back to the RCR description of Force Sight. Which allowed a person to use the force to "see" the locations of objects and creatures.

Okay it's taken a slightly different path with the changes I've made but I think I'm on a good track.
I'm looking at making a Nagai Force Adept. I say Force Adept instead of Jedi because he is vehemently not a member of the jedi order. Is there any chance you'd be willing to let me exchange the starting free Lightsaber and Lightsaber Proficiency for something appropriate, like an extra skill or two and Weapon Finesse(for his racial weapon Tehk'la Blades)? |

I am still messing around between a few ideas. One of them is a droid. How are you handling droid stats? I assume 1000 dollars as per book to make plus whatever spare money we have from character creation?

To all the Droids out there, please follow the rules for creation in the core book, Option 1 page 186. It gives all the steps necessary for creating a droid, your class money can be rolled to buy upgrades. If you follow Option 1 you shouldn't need to worry too much about it, it makes Droid your species and you get to take a heroic class.
Aximus, I am fine with that, but you would have to have a lost in space type of history to be Nagai, as your people would not have been in the Galaxy for a few thousand years yet. You can take an extra skill and Weapon Finesse in exchange for the lightsaber stuff. Application table is updated as well as the Q&A section.

I'm super into this. Plus, it would round out my applications: Edge of the Empire (FFG), RCR original game, and SAGA edition!
I'll sleep on this and put forward an application tomorrow.

Is the starting stat array going to be different? For droids using the prearranged from the book drops the lowest score. Same here?

Droids can use this array: 17, 16, 15, 13, 10

Name: Bok
Species:Nikto Class:Solider Appearance: Bok stands the same height as an average male, however his build is much slimmer. Ignoring the toughened leather-like skin, horned head, and pitched black eyes, Bok looks like a wiry muscled man, an athlete whose life is to ensure that he is fit enough to meet any challenge. A long ragged scar bisects his left eye from his top spikes to his chin. He goes to battle clad in the heaviest armor he can get his scaled hands on and carrying his favorite weapon, an Arg'garok, from a Gamorren criminal who also gave him the ragged scar down his face. Only fate saved him from being half blind. Personality:Bok is a man of passions but he lacks many of the graces needed for civilized society. Politics and double speak have no value to him and the only answer to a challenge is a reckoning in honorable combat. Once the outcome is settled, Bok sees no reason to hold a grudge. The winner has been decided by strength at arms and that is the end of the matter. Bok has strong beliefs about the way of the world. With the galaxy in flames, Bok sees a new chance for his people, freedom and the right to choose their life. The Hutts had enslaved his people for uncounted time but that time may be at an end. He seeks to gather wealth; weapons, armor, credits, vehicles, ships or any other item that he could use to wage war. He sees himself as a prophet of the future, come to raise his people from slavery to freedom. Character History:Bok was raised in servitude of his Hutt lords. As a young boy he was trained for his future service. Computer skills for use in the field, Mechanics to maintain the items of his masters, and countless battle drills teaching him all manner of weapon skills. Upon reaching adult hood, he was pressed into service. His early tasks were simple, guard the palace, punish any who seek to steal, or otherwise follow his lords word. As he showed skill, he was given more and more challenging tasks ranging from collecting past due money to hunting down traitors and spies. His status grew and soon he was in a position of relative power within the ranking system. As the threat of the dark jedi turned to more and more nightmarish creatures, some of the Hutt lords offered their personal armies for hire and so Bok travelled off world for the first time. Meeting other people, the Jedi, and cultures taught Bok the importance of freedom and free choice. Returning to his masters, he worked for several years longer before he amassed the wealth necessary to buy his freedom. Leaving for offworld, he did odd jobs before finally settling down with the Fangs. While not the most lucrative business, his natural ability and access to military gear has him looking at this as one of the best chances for his people's freedom. Character Specific Writing Sample: Bok watched his breath cloud the air in front of him as he looked up the steep mountain slope. He had been tracking a Gamorren named Warlug for over a week now. The Hutt lords wanted him made an example off to the others who would think to try and run from their debts. As he settles down to rest, he thinks back to the briefing. The security tape squelched in front of him as he look down at one of the local bars. A hairy Gamorren sits alone at a table sipping some kind of hard alcohol when two collectors approach from behind. They take up positions on either side. The audio doesn't carry to the tape, but it is clear from the posturing what is happening. The three men look tenser and tenser and it won't take long for a fight to break out. As a serving girl stupidly approaches and starts serving drinks, the argument turns violent. A spilled drink, a insult too far, a unbelieved threat. Who knows what it was, but at that moment weapons were drawn and used. A brief struggle ensured with the Gamorren emerging wounded but Gamorren. Grabbing credit chips and weapons, he quickly leaves the three bodies behind as he leaves the scene. Looking across at the man at the table, "So this my target? Gamorren wanted for debt and murder? Where did he go?" The man slide a small tablet across the table to Bok. Picking it up, it gives a brief report. Left seen leaving the city to the north. 12 hours ago spotted by a trader turning from the road into the mountains. Looking up from the tablet, Bok simply nods before leaving the table. Looking up from the gravel in front of him, Bok caps his water bottle and with a small groan gets back to his feet. Turning to the rise, he starts to move again. Tired legs and shorted breath from high altitude wear down on him, but it won't be long until it is decided. Finishing the steep climb, Bok looks at the small cave entrance. Such a grueling journey for a small target. But it was one he had been ordered to carry out. Approaching the entrance, the piggish man comes to the entrance. It was clear that he had been watched during his ascent but there had been little cover to make the approach in secret. Pulling his own weapon, the two stare down. Calling up, Come down and settle this Warlug. Your death doesn't have to be now. Silence stretched out into seconds before turning into a half minute. Sighing, Fine. We do it your way. Closing the distance, Bok makes sure he stays out of reach for a few seconds. Warlug was carrying a weapon of his people, an oversized axe that was sure to cut him in half if it made contact. Speed and inside its reach would be key. Feinting a jab, Walug responded with a quick slash back. Circling, the two warriors feinted and parried, each knowing the other capable and that even a minor wound could kill in this land. Slowly Warlug's swing slowed and Bok knew he was wearing down the warrior. Making another jab, he steps close to get inside the swing of the weapon but sees the ruse too late. Throwing his mace haft up, the thick metal handle slows the axe for a brief second before it is chopped in half. Blinding pain flashes, and Bok is thrown to the ground. Looking up as blood and pain spread across his face, the hazy silhouette approaches. Growing desperate, he lashes out at the last second with his foot and hears a solid crack as he smashes the others ankle. As Warlug tumbles down, the slippery gravel surface gives little purchase. Sliding away for the edge, Warlug gives one last squeal of fear before disappearing over the edge. As Bok stood up, he grabbed the axe from where it had landed. As blackness clouded his vision, he can only thank the setting sun how lucky he had just gotten. |

Species: Nagai Age: 27 Class: Jedi 3 / Scoundrel 1 Appearance: Though often considered to be an 'exotic looking near-human', Chano is actually very typical and plain-looking for a Nagai. Tall and lanky, standing at a hair under six feet and possessing a gymnast build. His skin is ash-white and smooth and his hair onyx-black. His hair is kept relatively neat in the front but left uncut in the back as a testament to what he has survived. Chano has a way of speaking, soft but powerful, that grips your attention. Personality: Chano loves to hear people talk and will often spend his leisure time meditating in public areas just letting the noise wash over him. He is comfortable letting others carry a conversation but when he speaks it tends to be with conviction and passion and something about his voice seems to sway opinions. Though he doesn't shy away from necessary violence he prefers resolving issues through discussion or misdirection, or failing that a small application of Force to make the problem go away. That said when it becomes clear a fight cannot be avoided he tends to responds with overwhelming force. History: Writing Sample: Last edited by AximusLokar; Jan 21st, 2016 at 04:06 AM. |

In the clarity of morning, a few more questions have occurred to me:
What sort of posting rate are you aiming for from your players? What sort of posting rate are you aiming for as the GM? Is it your style to leave the player's direction entirely up to themselves, or do you like to have a more active hand in guiding them forward? As for systematic questions: if starting wealth is rolled, is there any benefit in taking the noble's Wealth talent from the Lineage tree? Would you be alright with having a player take the Natural Leader feat from the FUCG and being a member of a separate organization as well as part of the Fangs? |
