Sounds interesting but I need to read up on the 2.0 rules first before I make a decision. I'll throw my hat in for being a Goblin Rouge probably. Maybe one who only speaks in bad rhymes?

Appearance: Like most goblins, Max is short, scrawny and green. This goblin went bald early and stayed that way due to masses of chemicals burning his hair clean out. He wears a ratty set of robes with a pack on his back nearly as large and heavy as he is, filled to the brim with vials and small tools made of scrap metal.

Character: Max wants to create explosions. To make big explosions he needed to be a better chemist, and to be a better chemist he had to experiment making explosives and ensuing explosions. He is thus, living his dream job and his dream life. Typically he does whatever he is told as long as he gets to blow things up. He is rather easy to get along with as long as people can understand his rapid speech in a pidgin of goblin, common and phonetic sound effects.

Backstory: Max, being the true genius of the goblin pack that he was, spent most of his young life assembling toys and pranking items out of scrap and fungi that he could find in caves. growing up, he does much of the same, but other people typically hand him stuff to pound together and make explosives or smoke. His last name was earned from his disposition in cobbling highly unstable things together for more effect.

Background: Barkeep & Pathfinder hopeful (though pathfinder would be more of a goal than a background)

Appearance: Bonnie is short even for a gnome, standing a mere 2’ 6” and weighing an astonishing 21 pounds when wet. She has a pale platinum blonde hair that is nearly white under the height of the noonday’s sun in which she wears in long pigtails tied up near her scalp with pink ribbon that hangs lose along the length of each braid, giving her her nicknamed bunny ears.

Her face is youthful and bright, usually with a smile cast upon it as she eagerly goes here or there seeking out whatever has caught her attention at the moment.

As for her garb she has recently taken to wearing a thick pair of goggles with several additional lens that can be shifted around for better magnification, although one would note that it also has several different colored lenses and when questioned she’ll mutter something about needing to see the world through different colored lenses sometimes. As for armor, she had heavily modified an old suit of leather armor so that it is cover in dozens if not hundreds of pouches all over its front and side, each holding the different alchemic materials and resins needed for her alchemist trade. Under her armor, she usually wears a pale blue woolen blouse and skirt with white lilies embroidered along its hemline. Thick boots, well thick for a gnome anyway, poke out from under her dresses hem from time to time as she skips to here or there…

Character: Bunny is eager to get out there and see the world, maybe make some money and at least make a name for herself if not becoming a world famous alchemist in the process.
~ She approaches the world, and its dangers, with childlike eagerness and abandon.
~ She likes sweet and fruity flavored alcoholic mixtures and the hearing of good stories (especially stories of horror and monsters) and good times had.
~ She dislikes bitter ales, begrudgingly nursing one till it dies and she can move on.
~ She dislikes rude or “nasty” people and outright hates liars

Quick Backstory: Bunny grew up at her parents tavern and learn many a thing from her many, many uncles and aunts of the years. When she was old enough she started busting tables, working up till when she was allowed to tend the bar from time to time and even stealing the quick drink or three. Her true passion came to her when her mother taught her the secrets of the family draft and from then one she began to learn and craft her own odd mixtures and admixtures from a drought that could lay a man flat over a few minutes to the cure of its inevitable hangover the next morning.

It wasn’t long into her alchemic studies that she learnt of the pathfinder society and the opportunities being a part of it world bring.

How does Bunny know Keleri? By name only. She heard that the noble woman was looking for help from an uncle at the bar and set out the next morning to see if she could help out any.

Story: technically yes, but no… I bought it hoping to dm it, but after getting home and flipping through a few pages and after seeing that the monsters needed for the first encounter were in the bestiary and not in the adventure itself I decided to chuck it into the corner with the rest of the adventures I’ve collected over the years to collect dust and cobwebs till I’m sucked dry and in need of adventure ideas if not maps…

DescriptionGaius Libo, a name which is well known among the taverns and drinking hall of Magnimar is a man who has performed for the common people of the city for years. With a choice in clothing that tends towards the flamboyant and the well known orange and blue bandanna which he uses to hold back his hair. Standing at a respectable five feet and ten inches, Gaius is close to average height for a human but it isn't his height or indeed his bulk which makes him stand out from a crowd. Instead it is his holding of an appearance remarkably similar to that of the mythical Azlanti which tends to make people take a double take. While his skin and hair and features are remarkable in their similar to those ascribed to Arodan in the tales he spins (by something more than happenstance) the emerald green of his eyes set him apart and ensure that nobody would truly mistake him for Azlanti.
PersonalityFlamboyant, sarcastic and eloquent are merely three words in a tome that could be used to describe and outline the personality of Gaius Libo. It has always been true that Gaius feels most alive when stood in front of a crowd and weaving for them the tales of old and bringing to the common person the knowledge of the old heroes and legends, word of Arodan and his Empire or the deeds of Varisian folk heroes. Having been born and grown up on the streets of Magnimar, Gaius had seen how little light there could be in the lives of the poorest citizens. The greatest joy in Gaius' life comes from helping those people who rarely get the chance to enjoy themselves.

Among his friends Gaius is known as having a dry form of wit which often focuses on observations of the world around him and even his own actions. These observations to somebody who doesn't know Gaius could perhaps be seen as being overly harsh but these jokes come from his concern regarding the plight of many people. Indeed much of the money he makes playing throughout the taverns and drinking halls is donated to people he notices need it though this is always done anonymously. It is not Gaius' way to want what he has done to be well known and his well cultured image of a popular and successful bard is one that he always seeks to maintain.
BackgroundConcepts/Elements
1 - Gaius Libo is a semi-famous bard who plies his trade among the lower classes and poorer parts of Magnimar.
2 – Gaius ensures to always give the majority of his wealth on giving back to the poorest within the city but does so anonymously so as to not affect the public image he has carefully crafted.
3 - The education of the poorer classes of Magnimar and giving back to the city that raised him is the central pillar of his life and the recent threats to the city have caused him to want to protect them more directly.
4 – Gaius was brought up as an orphan within the city who ran with the child gangs and only escaped that life by being brought in by a kind older bard who saw in him a spark of talent.
5 – Has a very dry sense of humour which tends to manifest in the making of sarcastic comments and making quips which tease those whom he cares most deeply about.

Goals
Character's – His biggest goal is to ensure a system of education for the poorest in the city is set up so that more of those in the lowest classes are given the opportunity to learn and choose a life rather then being bound into a life of servitude.
Player's – I would like to see Gaius develop himself and step into a role as a leader and pushing for a better position for the lower classes in terms of education. Perhaps see the unrealism of his wishes in the psuedo-medieval society due to a lack of wealth to move around.

Secrets
Known by PC – Gaius is quietly the backer for half a dozen charitable missions spread across the city which try and educate as many of the poorest children as possible.
Not known by PC – While he lived much of his youth very poor he was not born that way and his parents had been affluent before they lost it all when their oyster fishing business was undercut by rivals with little to no morals.

Memories/mannerisms/quirks
Memory – Gaius' brightest memory is that first night living with Septimus the minstrel who took him in from the street. The tales he told Gaius of the achievements of the Chelaxian people, of Varisian heroes and Shoanti tribes. Forming in his mind bright images as his imagination was finally fed after many years of starvation.
Mannerism – When performing in front of the children of the local area, Gaius always adds even more to his performances, using his talents with magic to bring to life much of the stories he talks about. Using dancing lights to act out armies marching against one another, stirring the hair of those listening when he talks of the breath of a monster on the neck of some hero or other. Trying to help bring to life his tales of the past to attempt to inspire these children to make the best out of their lives.
Quirk – No matter the length of his hair at the time, Gaius always ensures to wear one of a collection of bright silken bandannas. This has become something of a trademark for him and orphan children will often chase after him asking him what outlandish colours he will choose next.

RP SampleAs the serving girl approaches the table Gaius glances at her before throwing back the dregs of his ale and without seeming to look he holds out his tankard to have it refilled. The sudden and abrupt action shocks the girl so much she nearly drops the jug of ale she is carrying to the raucous amusement of his compatriots. Allowing a slight smile onto his face he doesn't turn to the poor woman but simply talks as if she wasn't there.

"It would seem that the staff in here are scared of an observant man. So much so that they jump a full three feet when somebody makes their jobs easier!"

So saying he stands and turns with a flourish bowing to the now totally flustered serving lady and catching his tankard and the ale jug before it hits the floor, the woman having been so shocked she actually dropped it. Pouring himself a drink he puts his tankard down he spins and with a flourish offers the lady back her jug and a sizeable tip.

"I apologise dear lady, but it isn't everyone who can deal with my sheer force of personality, Gaius Libo is the name, you may have heard of me? Ah I see you have. Spend your tip well young lady I just get back to my friends"

Appearance and Character:

Shandra Wilhelm is quite a beautiful young woman to behold. Only twenty-four years of age, she holds in her heart, a deep sense of childlike love and affection, along with a mysterious and uncommon wisdom, uncharacteristic for a woman of that age. Adventurous, she delights in discoveries and learning new things. Mysterious lore, treasure and artifacts prick her interest above all other ventures. The unseen sides of life, magic and superstition enthrall the young woman, barely graduating from university. She is beginning to understand her capabilities, her budding celestial powers. Learning her value and her worth among the comings and going of society life, she holds herself in quite confidence. Her touch, her guidance, her careful and delicate demeanor, has incredible soothing capabilities. Teamwork and cohesion are her delights. She admires all different walks of life, and enjoys cultivating and supporting each of them; from the adorable little goblin friends she has met around town, to the great half-orc brutes she once sported with in school. She has an air of the wise and caring older sister when she engages with dear friends, and out in social gatherings. Peaceful, calculating, and all seeing at times, she gazes into the distance and surveys for potential dangers, along with gratitude for the natural beauties. Naivety, strangely, is not a characteristic of the young Shandra. She innately understands many things, many life lessons, that would normally befall any other woman of her age.

Vulgarity is scarcely tolerated. Uncouth and disrespectful individuals are studied and evaluated carefully if she finds herself dealing with these types of behaviors. If they threaten her friends, she is the first to step forward and confront them, calling out their critical and necessary attitudes. A purity streams through her blood, and a shining light in her eyes. Corruption and injustice are nagging ailments that tug at her heartstrings. She has somewhat of a savior complex, the defender of the weak, and the protector of the inflicted. Her dearest friend Keleri has approached her with a very dire request: To overlook, guide and protect a small team of adventurers, in search of a missing and very precious family heirloom. Shandra has accepted the request vehemently without the slightest hesitation!


Background:

Shandra has a secret … a mark behind her ear … and a deep tie to her best friend, Keleri, since the harrowing accident in the gardens when Keleri almost lost her life.

The two girls were playing in the family’s garden one hot summer day, and Keleri took an unfortunate fall. She was watching her step, tripped backwards on some undergrowth and fell on a spiked gardening tool … impaling her chest. Shandra screamed bloody murder! She was absolutely frantic and ravenous with fright. Keleri was fading fast, precious blood streaming out all over the grass underneath. Shandra being only ten years old was petrified with agony, unable to help her dying friend, slowly fading in her grasping hands. At this very moment, whisper came from behind her ear, "Are you ready?" the voice said. Shandra jumped up with blood still dripping from her hands. "Are you ready to begin your service?" Shandra spun around, still in the throes of sheer hysterics-- noone was there. Again she heard the voice in her ear, "You know what to do, blessed Shandra." "NO I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO--PLEASE TELL ME!!" -she screamed out to the open garden in torment. "Embrace her … you’ve done it before … " the mysterious voice retorted.

Time was running out. Shandra’s mounting panic was absolutely overwhelming! Precious seconds could not be wasted. She took hold of her emotions. Nothing else could be done. She knelt down over her friends fading face, begged, PLEADED for more guidance. --Finally, clarity struck her.

Shandra, with both hands, swabbed the streaming tears from her eyes, clasped her wet hands together ever-so tightly, then circled her lifeless friend’s eyes with her anointed fingers. With this, Keleri suddenly awoke as if struck by lightning, gasping for air. Shandra propped her up immediately and withdrew the impalement, covering the wound again with her hands. A moment passed with Keleri still fighting for her life. Then, a ripple of white light EXPLODED from between the two, streamed up and out into the clear sky above, and washed over the glistening garden in all directions. Birds fell silent. Nature quieted to a hush, and all lay still as the light slowly settled and dissipated, down to a delicate hum.

Keleri was revived and healed instantly in that fateful moment, her wounds closed up, singed shut, and cauterized clean. The two girls embraced each other with an endless moment of serenity for what felt like hours passing by. The garden noises eventually returned to normal and nature continued on as before. As the two girls wept in each other’s arms, the quiet voice returned to Shandra’s ear once again, "Your tears are Sacred, Dear Child. Do not ever forget. You begin your journey now, Loved One. You have been marked from this day forth. Share your gifts, Great Being. Do not be afraid to shed your tears. Do not falter now, Brave One, for the times are changing, and all will be tested ... in the darkest of moments."

Keleri and Shandra raced back to the family house and never told a single soul of their harrowing tale in the garden. Shandra will never forget the voice whispering in her ear on that day, the day she came very close to losing her dearest friend. Days passed, and she eventually discovered a mysterious mark, engraved just behind her ear.

Shandra and Keleri went along to school together and eventually to university. Both girls excelled in academics, while Shandra took a fancy to the performing arts. Her mysterious powers grew, slowly, more potent, more powerful as the years passed by. She kept them hidden the entire time, only dabbling with them quietly to herself and with Keleri. In truth, her divine powers frighten her, but she is becoming more acquainted each and every day.

Class: Wizard (Transmuter) - Bram has always been fascinated by the changing world around him: people grow old and die, mountains get ground into sand, civilizations rise and fall. What occurs at the moment of change? Bram thinks he knows, if he could just find the arcane key that will unlock this timeless mystery.

Background: Esoteric Scion

Appearance: Bram stands 3'5" tall and has a ruddy complexion. He got his name from the shock of tangled rust-colored hair that topped his head when he was born. His dress is conservative for a gnome, his stockings match and he tends to wear combinations of colors that don't clash with his wild, unkempt hair.

Character: From Bram's journal, dated five years ago: I have seen change. Fire burns wood and what it leaves behind is not wood. Lightning strikes and the smell of the air is different. Worms crawl through corpses turning them back into earth. What causes these changes? There must be a spark of magical energy that prompts them. I seek this elusive quality in all things: the cause for changes. If found, I could arrest the changes, or sculpt them to my liking. I must find a tutor....

Backstory: Bram's tutor, an elderly human wizard named Helion Marchand, has helped Keleri in the past. She has come to him now, desperate for help to find her missing family heirloom. He offered one of his proteges, the gnome transmuter Bramblelocks Knockerbreeches, to aid in its recovery. He's a tad wet behind the ears, my dear, the wizard's missive had said, but he has the makings of a fine wizard. I'm sure he can help with your plight. Story:Intentionally, I have avoided reading any of the playtest modules, so, no. However, in the interest of full disclosure, I am planning to play a 4th level human bard in Caveman's playtest of In the Pale Mountain's Shadow.

Appearance: Calis is 5'7" and slenderly built. He has bronze skin and bright green eyes with thick, dark lashes. His features could be considered delicate--high cheekbones, a very clearly defined jawline with a narrow chin. His wavy black hair falls around his face and just past his shoulders when loose, though he braids it neatly in a tail as often as not.
Character: An impish prankster who lives by a code of personal loyalty, rather than any sort of conventional morality. Calis' goal in life is primarily is to see the dreams of "interesting" people come to fruition--by any means necessary, even if they hate him for it. Though he does not act for his own gains or possess much of an ego, Calis does have a certain sense of pride, and is loathe to accept the charity of others.
Backstory: The once-powerful Sacerdos family has fallen on hard times in recent generations, and most of high society has cut ties with them. Only the Deverins have remained steadfast friends to them--and might have helped them out of their misfortune, were the Sacerdos not so intent on clawing their way back to the top under their own power (and some very questionable means).

But for Calis, who was born after his family's fall and has no memory of what they seek to reclaim, "the top" holds no interest. Frequent invitations to the Deverins' social gatherings have given him a glimpse of high society, and it strikes him as boring. But that doesn't mean everyone who lives in it is dull--Keleri Deverin, for example, is far more intriguing than his parents or any of their ambitions.

Although Calis has no inclination to help his parents in achieving their goals, he also has had very little choice so far; he's not in a position to support himself if he leaves now, and the thought of finding some kind soul to rescue him makes Calis too uncomfortable to even contemplate. The narrative of 'self-reliance' that his parents have been preaching his entire life has taken root much more deeply in his heart than the ambitions they tried to impress on him. So he has learned the skills and played the parts that his parents have required of him.

Appearance: Mordecai is a stout Gnome with stubby arms and legs. His grey hair barely rounds the side of his head and a thick mustache sticks out frayed nearly 5 inches from his mouth on both ends, with a disconnected beard below.His big round green eyes show a childlike amusement not lost in the old mans thoughts.

Character:Mordecai is a quizzical old man who feels more at home tinkering with herbs and oils while many of his fellow gnomes moved towards higher calling. Living in Sandpoint for most his life, he has made quite a name for himself as an alchemist. His tinctures tend more towards the destructive than helpful, though the children love watching the fireballs that erupt from his chimney during every surprising new broth. Mordecai isn't one to think of anything as a failure, just a new invention waiting for implementation. In his most recent years a yearning to travel has taken over, and he wishes to find exotic alchemical components beyond what can be bought from Sandpoints local marketplaces.

Background:Mordecai always saw his life as a chance to bring joy to others. It took him very little time to learn the tricks of alchemy that everyone wanted to see, a burst of fire, a flower turning to ice or dust, each new experiment with the intention of bringing someone to the same wonder he experienced upon discovery. He began life as the son of a street performing tribe wandering the cities, but was left during a confusing scuffle with local guards of Sandpoint. He wandered the streets for several years learning how to find food and entertain for money.

It was during this time he picked up a penchant for alchemy. The local medical shop owner had a soft spot for the young urchin gnome and would teach him how to make brews for healing and even some fun ones to increase his profession as a street entertainer. Mordecai wanted to grow up giving the same hope to other children in the town.

After spending years collecting money Mordecai was able to buy his very own shop, and here is where the experiments got out of hand. With money coming in from a business he had much more to explore and would often clean out the small trade shops for all manner of goods to further his inventions. Any time he needed extra money he would simply go back to entertaining and selling basic potions to medical shops and explosives to fireworks stands and mercenaries in need.

Mordecai gave himself quite the problem while preparing for the Swallowtail Festival. Working for a fireworks stand, Mordecai attempted a concoction which left his shop roof "Ten feet further north than originally built". Tasked with replacing the roof, Mordecai asked the mayor of any needs he could fulfill which would pay for the roof repairs. Mrs. Deverin was more than pleased to point him in the direction of one Keleri Deverin. The mayor promised that in exchange for this personal favor Sandpoint would help repair the shops roof

Thought I would throw my name in. New to pbp and relatively new to pathfinder. looks like a game worth investing in though.
