Just a note that your Application Template doesn't mention "Rumors" as a requirement, but your Application Status section states that several characters are missing it?
Essentially, the rumors are the creative writing sample I was looking for, so they're required. A lot of folks have either had the same misunderstanding and/or went the extra mile and included an extra bit of creative writing on top of the three rumors. I'll go ahead and make a note in the main post to be more specific about it--thanks for bringing it to my attention!

I've gone ahead and added your application to the list. Let me know if you spot any discrepancies!

Character Name: Asteria "Of the Sky."
Race: Human (variant)
Background: Knight of the Five Gods. (Marine background. Reminded me of Spartans/Spartan Military training)
Class: Paladin: Oath of the Dragonlord
Epic Path: The Gifted One. (2nd choice: The Vanished One. Can change things to work with character history. 3rd choice: Any)

Character Description (including any art or Hero Forge builds):

Brief Character History: : Asteria is the fourth-generation member of her family who are descended from a group of Amazons that found their way to the shores of Mytros many years ago.

The original group of Amazons eventually married Mytros men and would become citizens of the city. It was never spoken as to why they left their homeland of Themis Island. Or why they chose to settle down in Mytros. However, they did pass on many Amazon traditions, stories and beliefs that are still practiced to this day by the current descendants of the original group, including Asteria.

She’s proud of her heritage and of her sister-warrior ancestors but Asteria aspires to be more than just a warrior of Mytros or an Amazon warrior. She also grew up hearing the stories and deeds of the Dragonlords. For Asteria, Rizon Phobas was her hero and looked up to her, because of her Amazon like qualities. Not only does Asteria want to be a Dragonlord like her hero was, but to surpass her and become the first known and not forgotten female leader of the Dragonlords. This inspires her to train hard so that she can reach her goal.

True to Amazon tradition, Asteria began her warrior training at a very young age. It became clear almost right away that the young child easily caught on to things. She had mastered the use of various weapons and armor along with horsemanship. She also completed her academic training by the time she reached the age of 12. When she came of age, both Asteria and her family realized that she has gone as far as she can go in her training.

Not sure what to do next, her family consulted a local fortune tell for guidance, a young woman who has lived in the neighborhood for many years, yet never seemed to age. Known simply as Echo, she has never been wrong with her advice she has given to others. It was revealed that Asteria should go to the Temple of the Five where the Knights of the Five Gods reside. There her destiny waits.

Ture to Echo’s guidance, Asteria completes her training at the Temple, where she learned to sail ships, drive chariots and wagons, build up her endurance, keep a level head during combat, and to be self-reliant yet be a team player. She then took the Oath of the Dragonlord, thus turning her dream into reality.

Asteria also knows this path is going to be a hard one: becoming the first known and not forgotten female leader of the Dragonlords is going to take everything she has, and then some. But she’s willing to do endure any hardship to make this happen.

Creative Writing Sample:

Rumor 1: Divine blood flows through Asteria ’s veins. After all, the gods walk among us. Who’s to say that sometimes a mortal catches the eye of a god? (This is the general belief as to why Asteria is good at everything she attempts to do. It’s the divine gift that she received for having the blood of a god in her.)

Rumor 2: Dark packs with one of the fiendish powers that lurks in the Nether Sea. That’s the only explanation why that commoner is good at everything. There’s Dark magic at work here. (Jealous and envenoms Nobles can’t accept the fact that a commoner is more talented than those of Noble blood. So they made up a story to make themselves feel better and to rationalize why Asteria is so gifted.)

Rumor 3: She once carried several injured comrades, by herself, for several miles to safety. She’s an Amazon! (True, mostly.) (Asteria did in fact did carry an injured person to safety, but only one, not several. Asteria is also descended from a group of Amazons that found their way to the shores of Mytros a few generations ago. She’s proud of her heritage and of her sister-warrior ancestors.)

Cyrus
right-aligned image

Character Name: Cyrus
Race: Variant Human
Background: Far Traveler
Class (and intended subclass / build desires): Rogue (progressing to Odyssean)
Epic Path: Vanished One (Gifted One can also work with a modified background)

Description:
Cyrus is a handsome, charismatic man of average height with a wiry build and thick black curly hair. He has green eyes that flash with a mischievous sparkle, a regal looking nose, and a well groomed full beard with streaks of lighter hair in it. He stands with the poise and grace of one used to command, although his clothing does not denote great wealth and is in fact quite odd compared to modern Thylean styles. He currently wears a simple scarlet red robe of knee length with a thick leather belt around his waist, and a pair of sandals that strap up his calves to just below his knee. On his waist is a well polished xiphos and he carries a harp in his hands.

Brief Character History:
Although Cyrus remembers little of his past outside of his devotion to Versi, Cyrus in fact was one of the original Dragonlords. Riding on his mighty dragon Frulvodshul with his magical golden shield glowing brilliantly in the sunlight, spear in hand and helm upon his head, Cyrus was renown as a master tactician, spearman, musician, orator, and athlete during the First War. He personally lead the assault on the main kingdom of the Gygans in the Cerulean Gulf, during which Frulvodshul was mortally wounded and the two plummeted into the sea. During their descent, Cyrus's golden shield was ripped from his arm and sent soaring into the air, reported to be the only evidence found of him after the total victory of the Thyleans of Mytros but has since been lost in history. Cyrus fell into the sea unconscious, and would have surely died at the hands of Sydon who was eager to use his power over the waters to utterly destroy the Dragonlord. It was only by chance that he was rescued by the water nymph Versi, the Oracle, who fell in love with the handsome Cyrus and charmed him into being her lover. Cyrus lived in ignorant bliss in their small cave by the hot springs where the Oracle lived, and enjoyed an idyllic life of love, leisure, and simple pleasures. His relationship with Versi had a magical affect on his aging process - what felt like a day with her was a year on mainland Thylea. The prophecy had come however, and his love Versi explained that Thylea was in danger once again and that Cyrus was critical as one of its saviors. By this time, however, Cyrus is a shell of what he once was - five centuries of soft living and leisure has eroded much of what he was, and he had almost forgotten his past until Versi restored some of his memory. Now he is determined to clear the fog of his mind and regain his title as a Dragonlord to save Thylea once again, before returning to his lover's side for them to spend centuries more together.

Rumors:
(1) Imposter - Some who have heard the prophecy of the Oracle believe she and Cyrus are lying about he being the returned Dragonlord.
(2) Weak - Centuries of soft living has weakened Cyrus greatly, and he is a shell of his former self. (TRUE)
(3) Insincere - Due to his dramatic presentations in public at times, some question whether Cyrus is sincere about his motivations.

Aldric Everlight
right-aligned image
  • Character Name: Aldric Everlight
  • Race: Half Elf
  • Background: Folk Hero / Charlatan (Folk Hero on the tin, Charlatan in reality)
  • Class (and intended subclass / build desires): Bard (Lore)
  • Epic Path: The Gifted One
  • Character Description (including any art or Hero Forge builds): 5'7", slender, with long dark hair and cloudy green eyes. Gently poitned ears are often seen poking out from his hair. He usually dresses in fine attire. Black with silver trim, however his clothing is designed to be practical. The rapier at his side has an intricate design on the guard... though closer inspection reveals it to be an unused blade, or at the very least, primarily decoration.
  • Brief Character History: Born Ebber Richards, he came from a long line of Richards, men who had always worked in the stables... he had started out no different, from a small town where work was simply passed down to your children. He did not live a very happy life, for he always dreamed of grand adventures. So as soon as he managed to save up some meager coin, he waited for the local caravan to come in for trade... and when they left, he left with them, never looking back.

Taking the name Aldric Everlight, he was known for telling amazing stories around the campfire of great adventures that he had been on... which was to say, he had never been. It didn't matter if they believed his tales, though... what mattered was that they were enraptured by his stories. What he didn't know, however, was how his yarns would eventually get him into some trouble...

The caravan had to travel through a far to the east. It was here they learned of another, more prophetic tale. One of an ancient red dragon that had been awoken, and was terrorizing the land. The guards jokingly suggested that Aldric deal with the beast, since he was a grand adventurer... but the joking stopped when they reached the first town and found nothing but ash and cinder. Aldric had never, in all his life, encountered even a small beast... but a dragon? Those were creatures of legend and horror all wrapped up in one massive package. At the very least, he wanted to see one! So when the caravan stopped at another town, seeing how they were having a rough time, and offered to give them some aid, instead of simply trading, Aldric snuck out to see if he could peak a glimpse at the dragon.

The caravan stayed for ten days, it took Aldric three to encounter the beast...

The local King couldn't afford to send soldiers after the beast, so he had hired a group of adventurers to deal with it... consisting of a great warrior, the fighter Typhon Asko, and his company, the savage barbarian Rygul, the evocation wizard Rhyss, and the Inquisitive Rogue, Martel. The four had ventured out and struck the beast while is slumbered, assaulting it in it's lair... but the party bit off more than they could chew. They damaged it greatly, but were nearly fully engulfed by it's flame...

Several miles away, Aldric heard the roar, and could see flashes of the battle as lightning, ice, and fire flew all about... he merely watched the mountain in the distance in awe, as the dragon emerged, rock and debris exploding around it... the creature truly was both majestic and terrifying, as it flew higher, and higher... and then lightning struck it, and it tumbled, falling for a moment before catching itself... it rained down fire-- and several feet next to Aldric, a shimmer of light... and he could feel the heat of the flames. He stumbled back as the wizard, Rhyss, appeared, gravely wounded... he collapsed beside the young bard, but his eyes remained open... darting... as he tried to see the battle he had been forced to teleport from.

The dragon turned about in the air, and Aldric couldn't take his eyes from the beast... when suddenly, it's head jerked to one side... and it changed direction... right toward Aldric and Rhyss. It was then Aldric could see two other figures, one, the barbarian, Rygul, on the creature's head, striking with reckless abandon, and on the end of a rope, attached to the creature's tail, and trying to climb it, the fighter, and leader of the band... Typhon.

The creature opened it's mouth again... and Rhyss threw up his hand, with a cry... and a bolt of arcane energy erupted from his palm, lightning crackling in the sky... it struck the beast in the jaw, snapping it's head back, flames being released into the air, as Aldric prepared to run-- but then the creature impacted with the ground, hard... and slid to a stop in front of the bard. His eyes searching frantically for a way out, until he realized the creature was dead. Never before had Aldric seen something so massive... and never before had he been so terrified in all his life.

He moved to see if he could aid the injured wizard, watching the dragon... afraid it'd wake up or something... but it never did... and upon reaching the wizard's side... he found him, eyes open, hand still outstretched with the use of his final spell. Having succumbed to his wounds... he would have to tell the other two. Or so he thought... he found them, their bodies badly burnt, and now also broken... the impact having been the final blow. With a heavy heart, Aldric buried the adventurers, marking the graves with simple pieces of wood... he wasn't sure of their religious obligations...

Then he took one final look at the dragon... it was certainly enough for him to swear off adventuring now... that was horrific! But as he turned to leave, he noticed a small group of men, a scouting party from the nearby town. They had heard the battle, and once things had quieted, they had come to see what had happened... and here was Aldric, standing before the great dragon. He couldn't help himself, when they asked about what happened, and when someone claimed what he felt was obvious, that Aldric had single handedly slain the beast... he didn't deny it.

He was practically carried back to town on the shoulders of cheering men, who quickly told everyone of his deeds... and asked for more detail-- and Aldric did as he had always done on the caravan... he weaved a mighty tale of how he had heard how the town was suffering, and how he could not allow it to be so... he spoke of how the beast had killed adventurers that came after it before... and how he had to end its rampage. The crowd ate it all up! They loved him! And for a time he did stay, living like a King in the town. But there was always the fear of someone finding out his secret and that guilt of living a lie. So he came up with another. The road called to him, he told them. He had to go. So with much fanfare, he left... trying to outrun his reputation... and perhaps create one he could honestly say he earned.
  • Creative Writing Sample:

Rumor 1 - He slew a great dragon all by himself! - Aldric has never been in a real fight in his life, letting others do the fighting for him. Despite his draw to adventure and desire to tell its many stories. This came to a head when several veteran heroes gave their own lives to down the beast. It was Aldric that was found standing over the monstrosity... Gaining the adoration of an entire town. The rumors, however, spiral ever outward, out of his control.

Rumor 2 - With magic lute in hand, Aldric the Everlight can call on the powers of nature! - His lute is surprisingly ordinary, carved of wood and strung with care. He has learned bardic magic... and the wounds on the dragon look as though it had been struck by lightning, which was the wizard, Rhyss's doing. The townfolk incorrectly assumed Aldric was the one to do so, and that his powers are much greater than they really are.

Rumor 3 - A shadow follows him! - Unbeknownst to even him, the rogue Martel had been afflicted with the dragon's frightening presence and fled from the battle that killed his party, Rhyss, Typhon, and Rygul. He felt immeasurable guilt in abandoning his friends; his found family. He would have returned, but he saw another burying his friends, and in his grief, he felt it best he not be present. It would be two weeks later that he'd learn that Aldric had taken credit for killing the dragon, never once mentioning the heroes who had died. Martel now plans to avenge their memory.

Quick update: I've scanned through previous applications and updated any progress in the master list. Please let me know if I've missed something! I've also added all of the new applications to the master list.

I'm seeing a lot of really interesting characters so far! I'm already enjoying fiddling with potential character rosters, and I'll admit that there's now a very low chance I'll stick with just 5 characters for this--there are just too many great characters already. Choosing between everyone is going to be a Herculean task, and we've still got about two weeks left!

I'll pop back in here in about a week or so for any updates I've got on my end. See y'all then!

Character Name: Lysandra
Race: Nymph-Dryad
Background: Hermit/Sage
Class (and intended subclass / build desires): Druid (Circle of Sacrifice) healer, wildlands guide
Epic Path: (preferably none but if I have to have a selection; The Cursed One/ The Gifted One

Character Description: Like almost every Nymph born in Thylea Lysandra is a beauty by mortal standards. Every mortal is attracted to nature, finding something that connects with them in the nymphs; Nature brought to animated life. It does irk her that everywhere she goes she is stared at; it makes her uncomfortable. Small and petite Lysandra looks like a child with little defined muscle on her frame. Born from a Birch tree her skin is a silvery-brown with darker stripes like her parent tree. Her hair changes depending on the season from shades of brown to green and back. When not in a civilized setting she also grows a circlet of twigs and buds that she sheds when she spends time in a cultivated place (town, city Etc) She wears loose white/cream colored robes of her order Keeper of the Oldwoods and carries a oaken staff carved with ruins and symbols only her order can read. She carries a small sling bag that holds a pot with a small cutting of her parent tree that she dotes on. ((I honestly can not find a picture that matches what I see her as. If selected I will find something suitable for her)).

Brief Character History: Born in the Oldwoods towards the end of the great war shortly before the Oath of Peace was enacted Lysandra has known nothing but relative quiet, order and routine. Raised to worship and revere the Great Mother Thylea, Lysandra has a strong connection with the mother earth and does everything to keep the balance as it is. With no allegiance to either the native races or the settled outsiders (nor their gods and titans) Lysandra and her people of the Oldwoods are often sought to be unbiased third parties when conflicts arise about land or resource rights/access in the wild lands outside the cities. With rumors spreading like wildfire that the Oath of Peace is coming to an end Lysandra has been sent with a deligation of the Oldwoods to speak with the rulers of the cities to see if anything can be done to extend the peace or if it is too little too late to bring everyone together once more.

Creative Writing Sample:
Rumor 1: There is Elf blood in her family line. Back when the outsiders where first washing up on the shores the Keepers of the Oldwoods welcomed some of the elves into their circle due to their love and reverence of nature. After some time a small population of elves gained some of their magical abilities back, although altered since they were no longer on their home lands. Some elves were so enamored with the Nymphs that half-elf children were born gifted with both Elf and Nymph beauty. Is it true? Maybe, there are elves and half-elves in the order.

Rumor 2:
Lysandra once lived in a Merchants Garden. On one of her many trips to the cities, mostly out of curiosity to learn about the mortals, Lysandra became lost in the labyrinthian streets. Lost and Upset she willingly took the help offered by an old merchant whom led her to his palace garden. He locked the gates and doors to the garden and kept Lysandra as a trophy pet for some period of time. Eventually one of her elders tracked her down after she did not return and freed her from the merchant’s garden. Now she is not allowed to go to the cities alone. Is it true? maybe. Maybe she was just too curious like every Nymph. You would have to ask the elders if it is.

Rumor 3: Lysrandra’s Parent tree is diseased and slowly dying. The grove where Lysandra was born is blighted and no cure has been found. She tried many times, unsuccessfully to grow cuttings from her parent tree before she had one servive. Now she carries the one that has managed to grow outside the Oldwoods with her at all times. She dotes on the little twig; watering it, keeping it warm, keeping it shaded. Doing everything she can to get it to grow bigger maybe one day planting it again. She has kept all the dead cuttings trying different potions and elixirs on them hoping one may be the cure. Is it true? Maybe, or maybe she just likes having a 'pet' that will never leave her.

work in progress Name: Deamon

Race: Drow

Class: Fighter( plan on eldtitch knight)(Soldier)

Alignment:goodish....

Background: Deamon was born in Demoncraft. A drow city in which demon and deamon summoning is normal. And at some point all males are sacrificed to do this. His was second in the 23 house city.
He was bred and raised to be the best fighter in the city so as to train both male and female drow (of course he was beaten each time he won against a female). As such he's stronger and bigger than the average drow.
But as all males are sacrificed no matter rank he was still seen and treated as property, slave, trash... A life he neither liked or wanted. He was taught to believe all from the young to old, weak to strong must be able to fight. And so he sees those who can't as weak and useless. As even those like him are considered nothing. He excelled at all weapons especially 2 weapons fighting. Blind fighting. And as magic and demons were constantly used fighting and using magic. He would be a powerful eldritch knight if he lived long enough.
As house weapons master he was also in charge of the house soldiers. His house and rank insignia could be tracked at all times, so both those under his command and all females could find him. His rank marked him as both general and house Lord... but still lower than the lowest female in the city.
His life was not good. better than most males but torture pain and enslavement was his lot. And the best he could hope for was a quick death in battle, rather than a sacrifice to lloth.
At age 20 that's exactly what his house matriarch wanted to sacrifice him . As they were about to wage war on a moon elf city . His house figured that the best way to gain favor of lloth was to sacrifice the best they had. But they had him trains Deamon ( named such cause he fights like one) to well. And when they came to kill him he took the sacrifice dagger from the matriarch,s hand and killed her with it. He then killed everyone else of his house. In a fierce battle, which.the dagger was not made for. So somewhere along the way it broke. But he stopped by the armory for surface armor and weapons. Once he killed everyone he set the house on fire and tossed his insignia in. So as to give the impression that he was killed with the rest by a rival house.
It took him 2 years to make his way to the surface alone. And 2 more to get used to the light. Now he travels as a sellsword/ mercenary. He hated the drow life but has as yet to learn surface life well. He is mostly cold. shelf concerned killing machine. Who wants a better life a is slowly learning. As no one is actually teaching him that killing for killing sake isn't good. It seems he is expected to know this.... And if ever his racial heritage is discovered( by forgetting a glove, or slip of his hood) he is chased and hunted. So far the surface hasn't been any better in his 6 years here than drow life was in the underdark.
Deamon has no home friends or family. And is always traveling.

Traits: I can stare down a hellhound. I face problems head-on.

Bonds: currently none!

Ideals: Independence
Flaws:I leave little respect for those who aren't proven warriors.
I'd rather eat my armor than admit I was wrong.

Appearance: 6ft muscled drow warrior.

Personality: give me a reason to kill you anything will do.

no epic path.

ooc Rp. 1. He's evil.... He's a drow drow are evil so he must be..

Deamon entered the town cloaked and gloved dressed head to toe in black. Always Keeping his head down and hood pulled over, shielding his eyes from everyone. It had been weeks since the last caravan was desperate enough to hire him.

He was low on coin but wanted a meal and bed to sleep in. And maybe to find a new job. He walked into a tavern. "Do you have a room?" he asked the tavern owner said last one that there's dock workers in waiting to find jobs when the ships arrive. They always arrive this time of year. " That's good news. I'll thanks the room and a meal. Maybe I'll check out the work to.", he said then with gloved hand paid.

As he ate a drunk stumbled into him. Knocking his hood off. The tavern fell silent for a moment. Before, " He's a drow! Drow are evil! He's a Drow spy here for our goods on the ships! Kill the drow!" was screamed by so many Deamon didn't know if there were any not screaming.
His food dropped. His swords in hand. "Here we go again..." he sighed. And killed 13 men making his escape. And again was chased from another town. With out hiss money.

2. He's a assassin. All drow are assassins.

He can kill better than most assassins. But prefers a face to face fight. Only problem is he don't know who to fight. Like the poor drunk in the tavern. Who stared to hard at him. He barely beheaded the man. And of course was then chased out of town. By a drow witch hunting party.
3.He's untrustworthy and unknown. He's a total stranger here.

Interest, I got a barbarian sorcerer multiclass I've been dying to try, here's the premise that I semi ripped off.

Forgive me if this doesn't fit the setting perfectly, I haven't edited it to this specific game yet.

Antillus Locke
Variant Human Artificer (Artillerist)

Epic Path: The Haunted One

Background: Clan Crafter
  • Personality Traits: I'll settle for nothing less than perfection. I don't part with my money easily and will haggle tirelessly to get the best deal possible.
  • Flaw: Once I pick a goal, I become obsessed with it to the detriment of everything else in my life.
  • Ideal: Calm: I am content when I'm am working on something.
  • Bond: I will find my family and get revenge on the evil forces that destroyed my place of business and ruined my life.

Description:Antillus is not a man who readily stands out in a crowd. He is at most average-looking in appearance. If there is anything that stands out about him it is the sharpness of his eyes which always seem to be evaluating whatever it is they examining or looking at. He has long brown hair generally worn in a single ponytail or loose down slightly past his shoulders. He typically wears a leather long coat, high boots, and a foppish-styled hat similar to that worn by duelists.

Backstory: Antillus was born and raised near the base of the Mithril Mountains. His father was a merchant who trasnported and sold dwarven craftsmanship and in return sold mineral resources that were not found within the mountain itself. Growing up it became apparent at a early age, that Antillus was an incredibly bright young man, and quite skilled with his hands. So much so that he was taken on as an apprentice to Thorin Swifthammer. Thorin was well know for his ability to craft unique weapons, sometimes imbued with magical properties as well.

Antillus took to working the smithy learning the basics at first, and quickly advancing to working on weapons that were sold at the forge where he worked. BY the age of 13 Antillus had advanced to making custom orders that Thorin himself was too busy to handle. Still those who came were more than pleased with Antillus craftsmanship. Thorin seeing the potential in Antillus, decided to teach him the ways of Artificing, how to mix magic into his creations.

By the age of 17 Antillus was working fully on his own a full-fledged Artificer. It was them he met Melania a local girl with hair the color of golden flax and brilliant green eyes. For Antillus it was love at first sight, and within 6 months the two were married. It was only a few months later that Melania became pregnant. Within two years the couple had their own home and two young children. Thorin needed Antillus to deliver a custom-crafted weapon Antillus had crafted to a buyer in Mytros. It was an exciting opportunity for Antillus to meet other craftsmen in the large city. Bidding his family farewell he rode along with a caravan heading to Mytros.

Upon arriving Antillus was amazed at the size of the city. While there he made his delivery and made a few stops as well buying a new dress for Melania, and gifts for his son and daughter. While his stay was brief he enjoyed the city greatly, even though he missed his family greatly. Catching the next caravan he returned home, or what he thought was home. Upon arriving he found the village quite different in appearance. Something was definitely off but the change was not apparent until he reached the forge.

Greeting Thorin he was met with cool indifference at best, in fact it seemed blatantly clear that Thorin had no idea who he was. Antillus thought it a joke at first, but it slowly dawned on him that Thorin in fact did not. Suddenly he was filled with terror running from the forge to his small home. He knew instantly as he arrived it was not the home he left behind. Out front, an elderly woman worked a small garden, Antillus though barely saw her, as he moved past and into the house. As soon as he was inside he realized this was not his home at all. None of his family's things or any of his family were there. Terrified he moved through the house searching for any sign of his loved ones.

It was only when the guard came in and grabbed him that he realized others were there at all. Dragged from the home he tried to explain but no one knew who he was or anything about him or his wife and children. The guard locked him up in a cell for a day before letting him go and ejecting him from the only place he had ever known as home. Antillus wandered for some time from village to village trying to find any semblance of the life he had lost. Eventually, Antillus found his way to Mytros once more, even there no one knew who he was including the buyer he had sold the weapon to.

Rumors:
  • Rumor 1: Antillus is stark raving mad. Antillus has grown accustomed to this from people who have only heard of him. It is said he went quite insane, dreaming of a family he never had in a place he never lived. While brilliant at his trade he is nonetheless out of touch with reality. The fact of the matter is he knows what he experienced was real and he intends to move the heavens if necessary to be rejoined with his family.
  • Rumor 2: Antillus is the Son of VolkanRumor has it that Antillus is a direct descendant of Volkan the product of the gods mating with a beautiful human woman. His great skill proof that he is destined for greatness, and to one day join his father above in the heavens.
  • Rumor 3: The goddess of Dawn herself cursed Antillus Antillus is destined to roam the realms in search of a family that was indeed taken from him a way to punish his father for his wandering eye and loins.

Credit to Touketsu for the format. Very Nice indeed.

FANTASTIC!! I've been waiting forever for a game where I can actually play a medusa

Application

Cythia
Name: Cythia
Race: Thylean Medusa
Background: Hermit
Class: Sorceress (Looking at the Demigod Origin. Otherwise may fall back on Divine Soul or Aberrant Mind)
Epic Path: The Cursed One is the best fit for Cythia, though she could be adjusted to be a Demi-God or possibly a Doomed One.

Description: Cythia is a tall, slender woman. Her movements somehow appear both awkward and gangly, while at the same time serenely graceful. Her heart-shaped face frames a warm and inviting smile. Her captivating eyes gleam with a knowledge far beyond her apparent years, iridescent magenta irises with slightly elongated pupils floating in a sea of gold. Of course, even those breathtaking eyes are never the first thing people notice - that would be the ever shifting nest of emerald vipers that crown her head.

Despite her somewhat unsettling appearance and her cursed nature, Cythia maintains a surprisingly irrepressible spirit. It seems as if nothing can shake her optimism or her belief in the fundamental goodness of people. She can be a little shy and socially awkward as a result of spending much of her life in isolation, hiding from those who label her a monster, but this has done little to dampen her desire for friendship and companionship. She is quick to trust others (provided they don’t try to kill her on sight), often to the point of oblivious naivete.

History: Many ages ago, when the ink with which the Oath of Peace was writ had yet to dry, and the Five were but new-fledged godlings, the Nymph Astraea served as priestess to Lutheria. The aura was famed throughout Thylea from Aresia to the Greater Steppes for her beauty and her grace. It was not long before news of her reputation reached the ears of Pythor. The First War having ended, the Lord of Battle turned his attentions from victory on the battlefield to conquests in the bedroom. Drunk on the adulation heaped upon him by mortals for his role in turning the tide of the First War, Pythor could not fathom how any woman would possibly refuse him. And yet, refuse him Astraea did, having sworn a vow of chastity in service of Lutheria.

Enraged at the blow to his pride, Pythor cursed the nymph. If she would not allow herself to be taken by him, then he would suffer no other man to look upon her. Her fabled raven locks fell from her head and coiling serpents took their place. Blood pooled within her steel-grey eyes, forever staining them. And, should any still find some semblance of beauty in her visage, the Lord of Battle decreed that all who met her gaze should find their blood run as cold as stone. Astraea found herself bereft of kith and kin, her loved ones slain by her mere presence. She wandered the wilderness alone, and her mind began to unravel from grief and despair.

Finally, the three sister goddesses took pity on the object of Pythor’s scorn. Though they would never reverse the work of one of their fellow gods, they each bestowed a boon. First, Mytros sought to ease the pain of Astraea’s isolation. The Lady of the Dawn crafted a companion for the lonely nymph, shaping a child of clay into which she breathed the Light of Life.

Next came Kyrah. She too did not wish to confront her brother directly, so she granted her boon to the newly born child. She gave to the child the gift of magic, teaching her to nudge the scales of fate and to bend the wills of men.

The last to arrive was Vallus and when she did, she saw that Astraea herself was too far gone in the grip of madness. In her wisdom she sensed that the nymph’s time was nearing its end, and she pitied the child that was soon to be orphaned, and so her gift was knowledge and connection. She tethered the mind of the young child to that of her mother with a bond so great it would even withstand the cold of death and bridge the great beyond.

Such was the birth of Cythia.

Rumors:
  1. "She's a monster! She seeks revenge on all mankind and wants to kill everyone she sees on sight." - Nothing could be further from the truth. Cythia is a kind and gentle soul. She generally likes everyone, though she shies away from those who have typically ostracized her.
  2. "The gods have marked her as cursed. Ill-fortune follows her wherever she goes and any who come across her will be tainted by the same mark." - Kind of true ... maybe? Pythor absolutely cursed and punished her mother, but he isn't actively following Cythia about to rain misfortune down upon her. To be perfectly honest, he barely even knows that she exists.
  3. "An unnatural abomination! How can anything good come of a creature born from no father. It's a mockery of the natural order, I tell you." -Well, the basic facts are accurate (Cythia was shaped of earth and had the Light of Life breathed into her by a goddess), but the opinion there is really steeped in archaic patriarchal attitudes.
