3) So this says Cyper system, which it is, but it's a kid's game that actually acts as an intro to Cypher. So if people don't know how to play Cypher, this will be an incredible way to learn.
And we may end up segueing into other, more adult settings.

I'm hoping for a healthy mix of silly and serious. This is based on a kids game, but it is a great intro into the Cypher system, which I will be shifting into eventually.

This sounds kinda fun! I've seen the system before at the local game shop, but never looked into it. No promises, as I'd need the rulebook first, but a definitive maybe.

Also, how do you stand on other entertainment material being used as inspiration for character ideas in the game?
For example, I had a notion to base my child's imaginary self on a very famous X-men character, who utilizes the tiger claws (snikt snikt), but with some young child misunderstanding - such as being called 'Wolfarine', and having a candy stick in the mouth (rather than a cigar, since his dad told him it was candy), etc.
I would say you should choose between Fighter and Superhero, then refine the flavor of your character concept. You also have to select an adjective, so do you want your Fighter/Superhero to be Fast, Super Strong, Powerful, Smart, etc.?
But no, I don't mind riffing off of pop culture. It's actually accounted for in the Rulebook.

Description of Child Self (kid): Joshy is a fairly typical pre-teen. He's small for his age, but has a big imagination. His hair is shaggy and dark brown, his eyes are blue, he wears a lot of comic-themed t-shirts, because he likes them (and so does his dad). Joshy loves shorts, especially the special ones with pockets on the legs, and usually has a scrape on his knee from playing outdoors. Finally, he has hand-me-down shoes from his cousin, which always tend to have a single shoelace untied at any given time.
Companion: Joshy has a really cool robot puppy, Scrappy, and he's had the toy since his eighth birthday. It was Joshy's first beloved toy, one that he connected with because he can't have a real pet, so Scrappy is his pet now! The robot pup moves and barks and hops around when Joshy talks to him, and Scrappy even has a bone that stays in his mouth - dad says it's because of magnets, like on the fridge!
But when Scrappy travels into Storia with Joshy, the robot pup becomes a huge super awesome big wolf! Scrappy grows almost as big as Joshy, and he can roar really loud and make things shake and rattle that are in front of him, and he can jump really high and run fast! Sometimes, if Joshy needs to, he can even ride on Scrappy... and it's so much fun, because it's like having a real pet!
Room Details (home): Joshy's bedroom is - well - awesome.
His bed is a super cool racing car, which is bright red with yellow stripes down the middle, and he has Pokémon sheets, blank and pillowcase. Sometimes, when he can't sleep, Joshy pretends he is racing in a racing car race, and gets a little excited with the engine noises (and sometimes his parents call out to quiet down). He also has a clip on nightlight at the head of his bed, and sometimes Joshy uses the light to charge up his glowy stars on his ceiling!
His closet is full of stuff. A lot of his old toys, some boxes at the very top with old stuff in them his parents wanted to keep, and all his clothes. He has some cool sweaters, a really thick raincoat that is bright blue, and three pairs of shoes. Those shoes are from his cousin, who drew some awesome pictures of lightning and fire on them, so they're super special. Joshy also has his t-shirts and pants and underwear and socks in there, in shelves that his mom helps keep tidy. There's even a folded up inflatable swimming pool on one side, which gets used in summer, but Joshy thinks it's getting a bit too small now.
His bookshelf is really high, taller than his head, and is painted red. It's covered in all kinds of books, a lot of coloring ones from when Joshy was younger, and a heap of action figures and toys. He has some Pokémon statues, and some comics, too. The comics were a gift from his dad, who took him to the old neighbor's garage sale down the road a while ago, and they bought so many boxes of old comics - it was really cool! There's a little clock there, too, so Joshy can tell the time and its face lights up when he pushes a button on the top. Even a spinning globe of the world, too. And he also has a toy ninja sword that he sits on the very top shelf, and it's just like his dad's ninja swords in his office on the wall!
His window is kind of cool, he supposes. It slides open, and the curtains are covered in superheroes, all kinds. The window ledge has some old scribbles on it, when Joshy was little, and he got into the crayons. His mom kept it there, because she said it looked pretty, like swirling water. The most interesting thing about the window, though, is the crack in one of the glass bits. It happened when Joshy was outside, kicking his ball, and it hit the window. Sometimes, when the sun goes down for the night, the light hits the crack and makes it look like a huge crack is across the whole room... it's pretty awesome. And a little scary.
Description of Imaginary Self:
When Joshy enters Storia, he transforms to resemble one of his (and his dad's) favorite superheroes ever, the mighty X-man, Wolfarine!
His costume is black and yellow. He wears a mask, with big whooshed ears. He has a belt with pouches of stuff, and he has gloves that his super sharp claws come out of!
He also has a candy stick in his mouth, and calls everyone "bub".
