Posting Interest to reflect the interest and comments I shared in your previous thread in preparation for this game. I have never played CPR, but if it is similar to the Witcher TTRP, I have experience with that, so that lessens my "New System Anxiety" a bit. I'll see if I can come up with a couple of somethings, but regardless if I make it to actually applying finished characters, GOOD LUCK ALL! And Good Luck, Chylopan, on your game. Looks fun.

It's less "inspiration" as it is my own writing self-doubt. Applications are probably my weak point, so I usually end up passing because I read others' apps and just think, "I can't do better than that." Plus, with there being so few selections, I'd feel guilty getting selected over someone else.

Senior Detective Application Name: Andrei Sokolov Age: 54 Race: Eastern European (Ukrainian/Russian) Sex: Male Badge Number: NCPD-01734 Role: Lawman Vice: Alcohol and Smoking, but nothing beats a true 30-Year Scotch paired with a Fine Cigar. Grew up with it as an example of how to 'wind down' and is socially acceptable for his job. Appearance   Andrei looks just like his father did at his age, yet wears the wounds of a career that wasn't without its usual hazards. Between slowly going grey and bald at the same time, most would have opted for a clean-shaven head, but, knowing how awful that looks, he prefers to constantly wear a flat cap that would look more appropriate if he wore tracksuits. Instead, the suits he wears vary slightly in color and signs of age, but are usually hidden beneath a long, heavy overcoat that seems to constantly bead the rain off it. The constant stench of stale smoke follows him, as does the slight tinge of cheap whiskey on his breath. While he has fewer implants than most, he'd had his eye replaced years ago after losing it during a gunfight where he should have died if not for NCPD's adequate Health Care Package. It's far from cutting-edge tech, but it does its job. Between hardened 'Eastern Bloc' genetics, nearly 25 years of constantly working the streets, and taking care of his constantly 'step away from death' father, he's managed to not become the older, portly detective he should have been. Hidden beneath all of those layers and tech, Andrei's flesh is covered in tattoos similar in style and application as those his father has. They had caused some questions and even a full-blown interrogation when he choose to apply and subsequently join the NCPD all those years ago, but with no actual connection to the groups that usually adorned themselves with such, Andrei was reminded to always keep them covered. While there were always those on the Force that would make comments or question if he wasn't secretly connected to such nefarious groups, IA never found any evidence of impropriety, even if some of his more corrupt colleagues wished they had. Background   Old conflicts had brought his family lines to America a couple of generations back, with his parents being born, growing up, and meeting in the communities laid out for such immigrants. They were hardworking people, growing up with the dream of digging themselves out of poverty. Shared experience and language had made them an easy pairing, but the stressors of raising a family forced his father into working for local Bratva. Night City had been a promise of prosperity away from the dangers his father had gotten his family involved in. Andrei, despite being born before the move, never knew anywhere but Night City, growing up in one of the many Megastructures that were owned by the city. Living "paycheck to paycheck" was the norm, with Andrei growing up between running the dangerous streets with friends: getting into fights, stealing smokes and cheap bottles of alcohol, and weathering the 'firm hand' of his father who didn't appreciate any of the times 'Badges' dragged Andrei either home or into a station to have his father pick him up. Even if his upbringing was tough, it hardened Andrei and caused him to idolize his hard-working father in some ways. He even went as far as to get tattoos in the same style he would see when his father took his ragged work attire off. As a boy, he'd asked about them, but was told by his father, in no uncertain terms, that they were, "Not of his concern and to forget he'd ever seen them." With the path he was on, many could have seen Andrei making the same mistakes his father had made at his age, but that all changed when his mother was murdered. Andrei had arrived home one day to find his father the drunkest he'd ever been, with a look in his eye like he'd never seen. The unit was in shambles. Andrei couldn't tell if they'd been robbed or his father had just gone on a rampage. When the young man asked, his father's response was simply, "Your mother is gone." After a few more questions that all resulted in the same answer, his father through an empty bottle at him, missing the young man to have it smash against the wall behind him. It wasn't until several weeks later when 'Badges' came to the door to inform his father that they had no leads into his wife's murder. Andrei's father yelled in protest, pointing a clear finger at some group whose Russian name the son had never heard before, but the cops didn't seem to care. Andrei was twenty-two when he decided becoming one of those that were meant to investigate such things, to bring resolution to those that had been wronged, was what he had to do if he ever wanted to find out who murdered his mother and destroyed his family. His father was never the same afterward. The man worked for years after but never showed that brightness that Andrei's mother's smile and cooking brought to the old first-gen. Instead, there was the drink that comforted him as he sat, defeated, night after night. Seeing his father so only added further motivation to Andrei's goal. Andrei spent the first half of his career walking a beat or riding on patrol. While he had colleagues that went on to be SWAT "cowboys" or focused on advancement, Andrei had only ever wanted to become a Detective, knowing it was they who did the most to bring justice to all those that had lost loved ones to the dangers of Night City. It was a grueling, hard road, but he'd had the kind of childhood that had prepared him for such. Working the streets had prepared him for the horrors and the paperwork, but it wasn't until he'd actually been given the rank and position until he'd worked his first real Murder case, that Andrei understood how solving such heinous crimes were basically impossible. No one wanted to talk to him, wanted to be a narc, or get themselves involved. Fear was constantly present in the faces of everyone he spoke to, every civilian he questioned. Those early days of being a detective were nearly fifteen years ago. Having never been the type to request a promotion after he'd obtained his original goal, Andrei had only taken what ones he'd been utterly forced to take. Being a cop, especially a detective, was a deadly life to lead. There was always the need to replace those killed in the line of duty. Having worked with a slew of partners over the years, he'd done his best to teach them what he could until eventually, they'd moved on beyond his station, usually either moving on to other departments or becoming his superiors, if they survived long enough. Andrei has buried a few partners in his time, both current and former, having felt the pain of survivor's guilt each time. Despite the scars of service he carries, he still can't believe he'd been as lucky as he had to make it this far. Only a few years into his career as a Detective, his father had been forced to retire due to a mix of 'Wear & Tear' from decades of hard labor and cirrhosis of the liver. Being forced from the unit he'd lived in since coming to Night City, Andrei had taken him in and set up what barely constituted a room in what used to be his home office. The old man, now barely able to get himself back and forth from the bathroom, spends all day watching television and drinking. While he is yet another point of stress in his already overwhelming life, Andrei knows his mother would have wanted him to care for his father. These days most of his paychecks that are barely keeping his life from falling apart are spent on the near-constant medical bills to keep his father going despite the occasional and short drunken outbursts caused by old memories that would have alienated most children. One day, once his father finally falls asleep drunk for the last time, Andrei isn't sure if he'd have the ability to convert the room back. It hadn't been the original intention of the two-bedroom unit. Andrei's first marriage had been the original motivator, with the dream of one day maybe having a son of his own, but Night City had seen to reminding the officer that nothing good ever lasted. Jules had just been at the wrong place at the wrong time. The punk had been easily found, arrested, and sent to spend the rest of his life behind bars, but it was a wound that would never truly heal. Even more, Andrei had found himself engrossed in his work. It had probably been the thing to finally get him to be unrelenting in his pursuit of that 'Detective' rank. The woman that followed several years after; a slightly younger colleague whom he'd met thanks to her being the 'rookie' in one of the many IA Post-Incident Investigations he had to deal with, had been promising. Being that close, though, she'd seen through the facade and gotten out after only a couple of years. They exchange glances on the occasions their eyes meet as they pass through the halls, but she never returns the forced smile Andrei puts on. She's seen his darkness and moved on to happier, healthier people after him. His most recent failed attempt…she'd been too young, and certainly caused colleagues to quietly question his sanity. She looked more like the those that now roamed the streets. Some had even asked if she'd been a CI of his at one point, but, as they say, "Opposites Attract." In this case, however, her being so very different, her drive to always be upgraded with the newest tech had sent her right off the deep end. Having to put her down to save his own life had not been an experience Andrei had ever wanted to suffer, but it had been either him or the Cyberpsychosis. He still can remember exactly how the scene looked every night when the lights first flip on when he steps through his door and will have pauses when he catches a woman with the same unnaturally bright hair she did. It's not so much that Andrei has given up on the concept of finding Love, of finding a woman that can make him happy. He's just stopped looking. He's too old to put in the effort, and, with his father now living with and dependant on him, he doesn't see why any woman would be interested. His only goal now is to make it to retirement so he can ride out his last days on his fat pension, cremate his father when the time comes, and follow suit years later when his ticker finally gives out. Hierarchy Preference: Based solely on his experience and story, he'd have to be the Senior Detective. Having had many partners before, he's used to the process of being assigned one, teaching them all he can, doing his best to keep them alive, and then watching them move on beyond him. While he doesn't enjoy the process, he understands the necessity of it. While there are those that would consider being assigned to him a dreadful concept, you can't say that Andrei doesn't ensure results, even if his methods aren't always in-line with protocol. There are few left at his rank that has closed as many cases, but that's surely a direct result of the time he's spent at it, as opposed to his proficiency. Experience trumps ambition. Ambition is how Lawmen get killed. Rookie Detective Application Name: Olivia "Liv" Murdock Age: 29 Race: North American Sex: Female Badge Number: NCPD-21573 Role: Netrunner Vice: Braindances (especially XBDs). Started early as a way to 'escape' her mother's confinement, but grew into how she was able to find 'release' from the monotony. She now makes copies of the BDs she sifts through as part of the NCPD, taking them home to relive the horrors over and over again for that 'adrenaline rush.' Appearance   Liv leads two very different lives when in uniform and when not. The things that permeate between the two are her numerous tech implants that paint a clear picture of where her expertise is, and her 'Silver' hair with a high undercut to allow access to the numerous 'ports' implanted in her skull. When working professionally, one can tell Liv was raised to know what her appearance should be. She keeps her attire both professional and fashionable, making co-workers question both how she came to work for the NCPD and how she affords such suits. Her makeup is always subtle yet precise. Her hair is slicked and tied back tight. If it wasn't for the telltale signs of being NCPD, she could easily be confused with a true Corpo. Of course, the NCPD knows who she really is. Photographing "Identifying Marks" is one of the requirements of the job in case of death. When "Off-the-Clock", one would barely recognize the woman. Some of her coworkers, the people that see her daily, have walked right by her without a thought. Her numerous piercings have been slipped back in. Her makeup is bold and bright. Her hair casts down one side of her face or the other. She's clad in the kind of attire that is normal amongst the urban sprawl of "street kids" that invade the sidewalks, bars, and clubs every night, albeit as one that is trying a bit too hard to keep up with what's "in fashion" in the current moment. Without the need for long sleeves, the bright, faintly glowing tattoos that cover her arms (and much of the rest of her) can show off and be 'reprogrammed" based on her mood. No one would ever think Liv was an NCPD-backed 'white hat'. Background   Olivia Murdock never knew her father. She couldn't even remember meeting him. Her mother was a 'high-up' Corporate Manager that made sure her only daughter was kept 'safe and secure' high above the streets of Night City. Until she was old enough to argue, Liv had been told she was "spun-up in a test tube", but after her desire to reach out led to learning about the whole world the NET had to offer, she found an old BD of her mother's and learned the truth. No matter how long or often she tried, she could never find anyone or any program that could identify his face. With her mother often absent, and nannies bot worrying themselves over a child attached quietly to a screen, Liv only knew a life on the NET. She was what some would consider an 'Amateur Netrunner' by her early teens, but no one stays an amateur for long. With the ability to do all of her work from her confinement in a starscraper, she was able to outbid nearly everyone else at her constantly growing skill level. The programs gained were always more valuable than the Eurobucks offered. Even getting her first neural implants, especially at the age in which she got them, wasn't hard. Her mother preferred a daughter that was quiet and content. From there, especially once she truly entered adulthood and her mother couldn't keep her like a princess in a tower, both her skills and affection for tech exploded. Everything went to funding the next upgrade, to getting the newest program, to gaining more and more access all the while dodging rival netrunners and 'ghosts' like a true pro. But nothing lasts forever. Mom got popped for embezzlement and a slew of other crimes, and the white walls and floor-to-ceiling windows were taken away. Now, Liv only sees her mother through a pane of bulletproof plexiglass or one vidcalls prefaced by, "You have a call from an inmate of…" whatever penitentiary she was located at. With life taking a hit and priorities changing, Liv got riskier. While she'd never been afraid to put herself out there in life, doing so for what was not truly "work" wasn't as comfortable. To make the EB to both fuel her craft and life, she had to make friends…and enemies. "CMRoach," or Clarence as his mother called him, was surely the friend she needed and proved to be a valuable mentor in her new situation. While he was older, and certainly could ease up on the burritos, he taught her much. And Liv was sure his mother was happy to actually see a female around him. His style improved…slightly. Joining the NCPD was a necessity. Liv had gotten herself hooked up with a fellow Netrunner, Zen, when they found themselves in direct competition with overly zealous Boostergangers. Undercutting and booting them at every turn, the 'Dynamic Duo' thought they had finally rid themselves of their rivals when a spike through the NET left Zen brain-burned in the chair next to her. There was no concealing it, no calling a Fixer to deal with the body. The scream and loud sobbing had brought the neighbors, which brought the NCPD. No one had ever gotten that close to her before, and yet, those near-cyberpsychoes had taken away what 'new home' she had started to create. Initially being dragged-in in cuffs, when the NCPD finally brought in a cybersecurity contractor that could understand her babbling words, Liv laid bare her soul. She not only needed the protection, but she offered up everything she had on the Bostergangers. While there was some uncertainty as to how to deal with her, especially since she'd had to have broken several laws to get everything she had, it was like being handed a slew of closed cases on a silver platter. Starting the day after the Boostergangers went away on plea deals, Liv officially started working for the NCPD. At first, she was just another security consultant doing all of the work that was too technical for the average lawman. Then, she decided she wanted to do more, be more. She wanted to know that feeling of clicking a set of cuffs on someone and whispering in their ear, "Gotcha." While her daily work and extracurriculars kept her busy, Live was motivated. She made time for the classes. Worked around her schedule to get her qualifications. She even convinced enough superiors to let her get her minimum hours of Patrol Time. It took nearly seven years from the day she first did her first sanctioned "crack and track", but she'd finally done what most thought impossible: be selected as the newest Rookie Detective to fill the hole made by the last poor soul that had knocked on the wrong door and been left a splatter for it. While she might never truly be able to put her past behind her, she was alive and still using her skills for something. At the end of the day, when she takes off that uniform and gets to live glimpses of the life she had before making that oath, she enjoys it either out in the city amongst 'her real people' or at home with the 'love of her life,' "Brucey": a 'Lab-Grown' Pitbull that Zen had gifted her. Far from the puppy he was when she'd gotten him these days, his genetically-modified extended lifetime brought her a sense of comfort that only one before could bring her. Going everywhere with her when not on duty, the 'good boi' is a fixture at her regular haunts, and has never once had an accident. But while her pet can only be seen in a positive light, he isn't the only thing that comforts Liv. Since she got a hold of her first one at too young of an age, Braindances - the bloodier, the gorier, the sexier, the better - became her vice. Initially, she'd been horrified as a child, but as she aged, as she desensitized, she found she needed them more and more extreme to get that adrenaline high. Working for the NCPD only made it easier for her to get them. Her 'private collection' rivals some XBD dealers' offerings. If it wasn't for timers and probably some mild ADHD, she could easily become lost in that false world. Hierarchy Preference: Liv is set up to be the Rookie Detective and surely is looking forward to her first case. While she may not have the 'Patrol' or 'Real' experience that some of her colleagues believe she should before having been promoted to such a position, she has put in the work, making it undeniable that she checked all of the boxes and could make it as a Detective. Especially so given her youthful connection to the quickly-advancing world and her expertise with the NET that now governs everyone's lives. @Chylopan Both Apps are Complete. As I've never played this system, but have familiarity with "Lifepath Generation" games, I hope I delivered what you were looking for. I very much welcome any comments and critiques and will be happy to edit.

I also must stress that most of my Cyberpunk familiarity comes from CDPR's "Cyberpunk 2077", but I both made sure to keep things vague enough as well as did quick research of the CPR book at times in an attempt to keep things proper for the setting. I don't expect to be perfect, so I'll be happy to adjust if there are any mistakes on my part.

Barring any edits, I do hope one of these two will ultimately be to your liking. Both were quite enjoyable to write, and two entirely different characters, which was a welcome challenge for me, especially back to back.

Even though it's a long way out: Good Luck to both my Fellow Applicants and to you, Chylopan, on your future, highly-successful game. I know you've been pondering/planning it for a while, so I'm excited to be able to see it start to come to life.

There's this online character gen that's free. I've never used it. Unsure if it supports Lifepath gen.Ripperdoc RED

And there are several YouTube videos that go over the full version of character creation. Problem is, I am unaware of any publicly available (and free) document that goes over the individual or role based Lifepath options.

I really like this concept and so decided to roll up a pair of characters. Link to Lifepath rolls. I am partial to the Senior detective

If there is one constant in Ae Ri's life it is that life hurts and Ae Ri manages this pain with drugs. While Ae Ri has used Smash and Synthcoke in the past, her preferred drug of choice is Black Lace for how long it deadens life's pain. Surprisingly, Ae Ri has a sturdy constitution and has not become addicted to the drugs, and only uses them when she's had a truly awful day.
