Will there be any firearms in this campaign? I want to know exactly what flavour of fantasy sailor I'm building for.

Actually, never mind, I've settled on a concept that doesn't rely on guns. I'll have it up soon.

... still trying to find something nautically thematic. Swarmkeeper with some goblin like mini mermaids perhaps but that feels a little to 'imaginative' for my character

Application Salt of the Wharf (Salty) Tabaxi Swashbuckler Rogue (3) Background Growing up an orphan in a port town meant that Salty had to do whatever she could to survive. From picking pockets to running errands, she grew an eclectic set of skill that eventually saw her eventually live enough of a life. By day she would be running around the wharfs, hauling goods and setting up port for incoming ships. By night she frequented the taverns in which many a bar brawl would occur, often cause by her own drunken rage. Even if they threw her out, she would always find a way back inside for a good time and a ferocious fight. However, every morning, she would face the coming sunrise over the azure horizon. Deep insider her, Salty could feel the sea calling out to her. One day, she told herself, she would be able to find work aboard a ship and make her own journey out into the sea. Clutching a somewhat rusty saber she kept shiny and sharp to the best of her ability, she also thought about maybe one day learning what happened to her wayward father who was said to have died out at sea. A man that her own mother was content with waiting for him at port until her final breath, leaving a child alone in the world. Deep down, she didn't know if her own rage was due to her being angry at her father, or jealous at the life he led upon the distant oceans. One early morning, after minding to her daily chores on the pier, she espied a notice on the board. "Calling all adventurers! Seeking sailors and greenies alike for a hunt of an ancient treasure! Inquire within!". Upon seeing this posted, Salty immediately ran back to her room. In a flash she took the little she owned into a simple rucksack and immediately bolted back to the pier. Finally, an opportunity, she thought to herself. Every ship needed a cat, and she was determined to be just that. Appearance/Personality Bengal-striped Tabaxi, slightly shorter than the average Tabaxi at 5'7", wearing a simple striped bandana and sailor gear. She is quick and nimble, giving her an edge in the many brawls she's a part of. She's very quick to anger and sometimes easily startled. But she will never back down from a challenge, no matter what. However, she has much to learn to be part of a crew as she grew up wary of strangers all. Info Age: 22 Ideals: Become the Master of the Seas! Wanted to make a character that was crafty, but would eventually be able to bend the storms themselves to protect her friends and crew alike. EDIT: Now that i'm going through some stuff, wanted to ask a few things. Can Scimitars count as a weapon that Rogues are proficient in? Can I flavor Ancestral Guardians like Storm Herald where I call down lightning instead of Guardians? If not, I can instead just say that the Guardians are her father's dead crewmates.

Yes to the Scimitars, and you want to replace guardians with lightning. We can test it, if it doesn't work we can call the ancestors her father's dead crew.

So I was thinking Storm Herald until I looked up what the subclass actually does. It honestly doesn't feel like a fun class to play since all it gets is 1D6 worth of damage with Sea aura, despite flavorwise working with the setting.

so its a fighter, but it gets a slightly weaker rogue's sneak attack when it duels? and it gains either double the "duel dice", the ability to cast warlock spells, or to apply condition effects, based on it's subclass... it's an interesting concept, but it seems like it's trying to mix a little too much of everything to me... then again I'm not the DM lol
