Also. "speed-running hedonism" is a combination of words I didn't know I needed in my life, but I am happy I have it now, ohmygod. XD I cannot wait to see what you develop with that. That sounds wild.

Edit: And yes, feel free to pick on The Beast and The Naga even if you don't have the exact Playbook. I love shenanigans.

Application Name: Anais Inanna Physical Appearance: Dark hair tied back, freckled face and arms, calloused hands and dirty bare feet. Bushy, dancing eyebrows and an impish, pursed-lips smile, both frequently on display when she spots something new and delightful. Rarely shows her teeth. Playbook: Nature Witch Concept: Country hick who has fallen in love with the fabulosity of Prism City, wants to experience everything, and sees no reason to be at all circumspect about it. Fashion style: Draped garments, knitted wool, shawls and long skirts (for now). Familiar: Robin the herding fox, as energetic and strong-eyed as any border collie. Has helped Anais out of (and into) no small amount of trouble. Known for his larcenous streak and rakish good looks, both employed in the pursuit of food (the famine-faced beggar). Sword: Shepherd's crook/wooden sword with a hook at the end. Motivation: Anais's eyes have been opened to a whole new world of people and pleasures in the city, and the Iridescent Palace and Party of the Century are the ne plus ultra of everything this world has to offer. And maybe, just maybe, the glamorous noblewoman who inspired Anais's move to the city will be in attendance. Granted, it's not at all clear if Anais wants her or simply wants to be her. Tropes: Fake relationships (including the fake-out make-out), optionally becoming real; tol and smol; love triangles -> OT3s; characters growing into intimacy as they discover more about themselves and each other; given where Anais is coming from, a makeover will probably be in order Discord: Yes, please! I find a Discord server really helps with OOC communication.

Like I said earlier, applications are open until September 4th, and if I do end up closing it early, you'll have at least a week worth of a head's up. But for now, you are aces!

Oh heck yeah, bring on the electric guitars! I'd probably say it is a combination of magic and tech than just straight up electrical. However you wanna design that is up to you-- you could utilize magic crystals, could be an ethereal instrument you summon, and other really cool, extra stuff like that.

Most definitely! As the rulebook notes, Nature Witches can be hot messes just as much as anyone.

I dunno if you are aware, or interested, but you don't have to restrict yourself to normal animals, either, for your familiar. You could choose something a little more fantastical, too!

Aurelia AURELIA DRAXUS "Remember the name... you may just be moaning it into my ear later." Appearance/Fashion Style: Aurelia was gifted with the fine features normally reserved for prissy, high society types; excellent skin, shining, raven black hair, high cheekbones and full, pouty lips. Her eyes are a dark, deep brown that masks a fiery and unbridled spirit. Standing 5' 8", her height is emphasized further by her relatively slender build. Despite her lithe frame, Aurelia is surprisingly muscular in a lean, agile way, developed by her years devoted to the sword and to dance. Aurelia likes her clothes form-fitting and easy to move in. While she keeps utility in mind, she never skimps on fashion; dark leathers contrasted with bold, colorful fabrics. Out of "uniform", she tends to favor the pastel goth chic; dark lipstick, gradients of alluring color contrasted with dark skirts and tops, with plenty of room for pins eclectic flair. All of Aurelia's fashion choices suit her personality: a woman who comes on strongly and confidently, never apologizing for taking what she wants out of life. Whether it's a shining jewel, a decisive victory, or the attention of some gorgeous creature drinking on the other side of a bar, you can always count on Aurelia to pursue what she wants with passion and a smile. Playbook: The Scoundrel Concept: A flirtatious thief on the run who'd rather die locking blades (or lips) than lay low and play it safe any day. Your Sword: Aurelia's sword is actually two swords; a pair of long knuckle blades that practically act as an extension of the woman's own limbs. They are truly her two oldest friends, honed to gorgeous, razor-edged perfection, practically singing in her hands when she fights. They're the perfect weapons to compliment Aurelia's style; a blend of dance and precise, deadly strikes. Your Motivation: Aurelia's motivations are relatively straightforward; she likes to live an exciting life. She's spent most of her life working as a thief or other type of outlaw, not really for the love of coin, but because she loves challenges, and she revels in outmaneuvering the law. She could never rot away behind a shop counter, or serving drinks in a bar night after night. As for why she's in Prism City... well, the short answer is to try to evade the bounty hunters that always seem to be hot on her heels. Of course a big city would be easy to lay low in... but where's the fun in that? No way Aurelia's going to keep her head down in some ratty little dive while "The Party of the Century" is going on! The music! The dancing! The women! The poorly-secured, high-value jewelry! No way in hell she's not going. What tropes do you like as a player? I love cheesy tropes! Fake romance. Enemies to lovers is a big one. Oh, and of course, breaking down the emotional barriers that characters use to keep their companions at arms length. I feel like a big part of Aurelia's development could be her learning to legitimately trust someone other than herself and maybe, for once... be vulnerable? *GASP* Discord? 100% yes. I've found that the games I played in with a discord group have become SOOO much better for it. The immediacy and availability of a convenient OOC chat option really helps build the tight knit group vibe that you sometimes lose in play by post. Ugh, I reeeeeally hope I can join this; I can already tell the game will be an amazing experience for everyone involved! ARE YOU READY TO PARTY!? *throws a chair through a window* LETS GOOOOOOOOO!

*fans self* Ooh mama, I don't know if I have much feedback other than that Aurelia is one spicy lady that I'd like to party with! It's an excellent application, Touketsu, no critiques on my end. I feel like I have the full picture when it comes to this party animal!

Quick question: do we know anything about the characters that Qat and Marshmallow will be playing other than the playbooks they selected? I just ask because to me TSL is so much about relationships that it's hard for me to totally flesh out a character concept without knowing who they might be interacting with. After all, She-ra as a character is a little boring without Catra, and Catra without She-ra ... well what would she do? It's kind of like the "Garfield without Garfield" comics.

I have to protest at your comparison. Garfield minus Garfield is a stroke of absolute brilliance; turning a mundane comic about a cat who hates Mondays into the hilariously chilling tale of a lonely bachelor's downward spiral into madness.

Qat will have more time over the weekend to chat about her character here. I'd say what her plan was but I can't recall what was supposed to be a secret and what wasn't. That's on me! As for Marsh, I prodded her in Discord to come and give a quick blurb when she's able! I recall her using the phrase 'smol angry pomenranian' for The Beast character but I could be paraphrasing.

So far, it does seem the personalities across the board are pretty varied. Nobody's falling into the same tropes or vibe. I do recognize it's better to have more information when building a group that you wanna chill with, maybe even ~smooch~, so I'll get the info as soon as possible! Honestly, same. I just learned about Garfield minus Garfield the other day, and it is hilarious, and also deeply concerning. Truly, only a mad men could create something so perfect and so unsettling. XD
