Hmm, alright, I'll put in my 10 copper pennies in the ring. Though, I ain't gonna lie, my concepts tend to just be stuff a threw around. I have no confidence that I'll be accepted but can't blame a guy gal sword for trying.

Biting the bullet because! I think I can also manage the pace more long-term.
I know it's a bit thin, but I wanted to just start with a seed and see if it's something you can work with! So please do send feedback my way if you're interested. ![]()

Since there's a good amount of reading to do to catch up on the whole story, do you have a selection deadline in mind? Also how tied are you and your players to "Common Races preferred"? Is it like... 90% chance you won't select an application based on exotic race? 30%? You definitely wouldn't at all?

Wow, we have had a ton of interest, and I am pretty flattered! Especially those who are taking the time to go read through the game threads. There are certainly a lot more players, and a lot of good really ideas here than we will be able to accept into the game. We are planning on closing applications Monday, August 15th at Noon EST. You have until that point to read over the game threads, and make any updates/changes to your applications that you would like. At that point, mountainbound, zebedee, and I will read over everything and make a decision on the direction we want to go.

Regarding race: I can't give you % on the numbers. If you are going for an exotic race, it needs to be absolutely critical, and organic to the character. Not just selected for a desired racial benefit.

Damn! Just saw this. In case I get time enough to get a good app in, what is the expected post rate? (I may have missed the info)

At best once or twice a week (when in combat). We have had times, like during Outplay, when it has been more like once a month. I expect with new players, there will be some added energy, and the posting will probably be closer to the weekly mark initially.

Name: Remy Le Pew
Race: variant human (halfling) Class: Bard (college of spirits) 6 Background:Haunted one Description/personality/History: The halfling was hit on his head during the initial assault causing him to lose consciousness. No hair grew on the scar above his left ear. Rudely awakened by a dretch gnawing of his left hand. Luckily the fiend was slapped onwards by one of its masters before it could chump his way further up the arm. Needless to say that the pain and the blood loss combined with the commotio cerebri and the Hell that was unleashed upon Tribblefork sent the boy into a delirium. It had to be a delirium. How else could he explain the swarm of villagers floating around him while he could clearly see their butchered corpses. There was Halen, the old gatekeeper. And there little Lise, the normally so lively toddler was clutching her teddybear and looking at him in silence while tears meandered down her translucent cheeks. Was that? "Elsie?" As his trusty mule hovered closer, the word escaped his lips before he could stop it. Remy cringed. He had to run, or hide but either choice meant death. Even as he rested his weary form, clutching the stump of his left arm, against the north wall of the Inn where he had spent a few nights entertaining the good folk of Tribblefork. Just then Pebbles, the innkeep ran by, several demons in his tow. It was clear they were hunting for sport because rotund as he was, Pebbles hadn’t ran in several decades. Soon after they vanished from sight, a gurgling cry rose up and just stopped. Running was not an option. Then he spotted a mound of corpses nearby. He was small enough to hide underneath and the stench would smother the smell of the blood dripping from his head and stump. It was the only chance he had, so Remy ran to the pile, got flat on his stomach and crawled backwards underneath the bodies, their fluids soaking his clothes, his left foot trapped in a loop of intestines. The Halfling gagged and struggled to keep his meal down. The spirits kept him company, assailing him with their cries for help and questions. "Where is Sam? This is all your fault. I want my mommy." The despair in that last cry finally broke Remy. He could not hold it back any longer. Spewing his partially digested meal out, the bard collapsed in his own vomit. When he finally came by, the others were destroying the portal. As he crawled out from his hiding place, Remy was a changed Halfling. Gone was the merry entertainer, here stood a man, scarred by horrors, a bleakness in his eyes that have seen and still see too much. A man determined not to let the fiends get away with this ever again. As the chasmes returned to the village, Remy snuck out, aided by the helpful remarks of a few young rascals who seemed to know - have known their way around town. Links Irene Glitch Aza

Applications are now closed. Thank you everyone for your interest! There are a lot more great ideas and characters here than we will be able to accommodate. Over the next couple of days, we will go over everything and make a final decision on which characters to add.
