Wow. This gained more attention than I was expecting. Seven apps in two days (not that I'm complaining)

For those who worry about taking on more games, I am willing to one decided and agreed upon by the groupgo at a slower pace as I want folks to be comfy and not stress about the game. Stress turns posting into a chore and increases the risk of dropping the game.

For those lurking and worried about concepts, I've adjusted the link in the second post to have a guide that outlines what to expect as a player.
It feels complex and crunchy when you read it. But in practice, its incredibly simple and straight-forward as Strangemund pointed out.
There are no modifiers or math, just simple: "Does this make the task at hand easier/harder?"

So. Many. Choices... So much potential... but I think I'm happy with where I'm at. I might add another paragraph about Jolm's personality if I can think of more to say, but basically he's outgoing and exuberant, but with "episodes" of cold logic as the machine temporarily takes command of his mind.

Back in 2015, ItsaVerb was doing a Numenera game (that was the older Numenera, before Cypher System and before Numenera was split into Discovery and Destiny). I remain rather fond of the character idea I applied with (didn't make it into that game), so I think I'll apply with it here. When I have another moment, later, I'll fill in some of the other things you requested, like sample posts of my playing.

Esch is a hideous nano who works miracles. "Get your rotted self out of here, Gristle!" yelled one of the two brutes propelling the young man out the tavern’s door. Gristle. Esch was his name, truly, but no one he’d ever met besides the old priest (now dead) had ever bothered to learn it. That’s what people think when they see me: chewed up gristle. Esch had worked on a disguise that day, trying to mask his disfigurement in a way that looked like a normal person’s face. He had really got pretty good at mixing the materials together to match his skin color. The whole thing had to dry, though, and Esch had been too eager this time. When his upper "lip" fell into his drink, there was no saving the deception. Esch was contemplating this lesson when he found it punctuated by a kick in the back. He was in the mud, and his back hurt, but Esch knew there was more where that came from if he didn’t move quickly. He scrambled to his feet with a wince, leaving the rest of his sculpted mask stuck in the mud. He ran, pulling his hood over his nearly hairless head as he went. He turned at the second cross street, and made for a familiar alley a block and a half away. As he drew closer, he heard the sound of what he thought was a woman’s scream, although it was muffled. In another ten seconds he was rounding the corner into the alley, and he saw the source of the scream laid on the ground, unmoving. Beside her was a figure holding a dagger in one hand and retrieving a purse from the victim’s coat with the other. The attacker saw Esch’s approach, and stood. Esch felt a righteous anger rising, and he brought it into focus. Reaching out with his mental faculties, he sought the locus of the attacker’s consciousness, then threw his anger like a spear, driving it deep. The would-be murderer-thief’s eyes widened in shock, his dagger and the coin purse dropping to the ground. Esch drew back his hood, revealing his terrifying visage, and spoke darkly, "Run." That threat averted, Esch lowered himself to his knees and turned his attention to the woman before him. Her eyes were closed, but her chest was still rising and falling shallowly. He quickly found the stab wound in her side and wrapped his hands about the area. She had lost a lot of blood, and Esch knew using a bandage couldn’t possibly stop the flow quickly enough. He closed his eyes, then, quieting his mind to attempt what he had only done a few times before. He felt the power move down his arms, out his hands and into the woman’s side. Seconds later, Esch removed his hands and whispered, "You’ll be ok." Her eyes flickered open, then widened as she saw his face above her. She screamed, slapped and kicked at him, terrified. Esch turned his face, pulled up his hood, and ran.

Dont worry too much on nailing down a statement/concept 100%. As a GM I typically let folks swap around character builds in the early-stage of a game before things really get going

He travels from town to town, place to place. He scavenges what he can, always searching for new treasures, new prizes, new cyphers. Wearing a hooded cloak to cover much of his face, his crystalline blue eyes sparkle with magical energy from beneath the hood. He wears dark leather gloves to cover his hands, the left of which is withered and black, another reminder of the dangers of playing with things that may be better left forgotten. Cypher/Numenera Experience?: I have experience running Cypher games, mostly the Strange and a Homebrew Superhero game – I’ve no experience playing table top Numenera, so I’d like the chance to learn a little bit before diving in myself. While many Aeon Priests would have been impressed by the medical marvels the family displayed they have faced difficulties in recent years. Due to some unfounded rumors the family is viewed negatively despite their indisputable positive contributions to society, nay to history! Those who take their sickly child to the doorstep of a Vatrice compare it not to visiting a beloved village healer, but to making a desperate pact with a covetous witch. Rumors of experimentation and deviance swirled around the family, made all the worse by the sudden fire that broke out one night, burning the Vatrice Plantation to the ground and killing the entire family... well... except one. Violet Vatrice. An elderly woman, severely burned, was ultimately saved by the very technology of which her family was so well known for. Violet denied knowing anything about the night of the fire, only that it overtook her so quickly she only had enough time to apply anesthetic jell to her burns before locking herself in a cryobed. And yet, this poor old woman, victim to some unsolved crime was treated like a pariah in her community. This was the last ill omen they were willing to take, this time they weren’t buying the old woman’s sweet words, and soon she found doors closing and backs turning time and time again. Which made one thing more painfully clear then her third degree burns... time for a change of scenery!! With a silver tongue and razor wit the old woman saddled up for adventure. She scavenged old medical technology from the forgotten corners of the world as a little girl. If she could do it then, she could do it now! She helped build the reputation of the House Vatrice... the uh, the good one, not the diabolic witch thing, that was somebody else, and she would do it again! Concept: Somewhere between Altruistic Doctor and Fast Talking Mad Scientist, Violet is someone who simply refuses to admit that she might be too old to go adventuring anymore. Cypher/Numenera Experience?: I have played a handful of Numenera/Cypher games, loved them all! All of which have been run by everyone’s favorite eldritch horror, Strangemund! As for the module, I haven’t read this or... any other module at all! I’m just excited to go in totally blind and have a whirlwind adventure in the wild and weird world of Numenera.
