It sounds like fun! I have a couple key ideas like those two powers being mutually exclusive (at least for now), but I am happy to be flexible on the specifics.

Yeah the end of the game ad says Palliven will go through character creation with us and that each part of a character gets a stamp of approval from him. The DM is more involved in character creation than other systems.

I will do by very best. A lot of it comes down to deciding on the approach you want to take to make the powers reflect your vision. Fair warning, it comes down to trades offs at times.

I recommend Hero Labs (https://www.wolflair.com/hero-lab-classic/). It's a free download and you do not have to buy the Mutants & Masterminds module to use it, only to save the file. Very useful to play around with your ideas to be sure the points add up right. You can save it as a pdf for reference and then compare builds to see what fits your idea best.

Hmm... seems like there's not a lot of time to get a character put together, but maybe I'll whip something up. I'm just worried that I wont have enough time to really flesh it out to match the other options here.

@Palliven - You're not wrong... I know what I'm going for in my head and have seen it many times firsthand, but it's not as easy to articulate. I think I'm more trying to convey that he's like a lot of the performers that I have known: likably awkward nerds who seem to fully transform into majestically confident people on stage. All of that spare energy finally finds a funnel and sprays outward in a plume of inspiration as muscle memory and teamwork take the wheel.

'Songbird' is a fully-realized stage presence. It's like an old glove that slides on with ease. 'Friendly' is like an act or character that Morris is still learning. He's new to SuperHero work and hasn't had the chance to build the muscle memory or find the teamwork. They are very much the same person for now, like the equivalent of basing a character off of yourself in a tabletop game. With time and some character development, that might change and we might see Friendly's Apotheosis into a proper 'Game Face' for Morris. I'd like the chance to play through that.

I've already done the psychic with One thought the other was an imaginary friendmultiple personalities, so as fun as that is... I don't want to immediately revisit that. This is more like, 'what if a stage performer led a double life as a super?' While I'm not really seeking out a bunch of Pathos for once again, did that with the last psychicFriendly, any angst would come more from his uncertainty of whether people like him because they want to or have to. Is his music career doing well because his band makes relaxing and uplifting music in a world that can be stressful and hard, or is it because the people that attend the show have no choice? What would his audience say if they found out that the artist that they follow has not just emotionmind control abilities? What are the ethical ramifications of using mind control to stop villains? I think all of that is a driving force for why he regularly under-sells his mental powers and would prefer to lean on a gadget and the perception that he's just super-likable.

Notably, these are all just hooks hanging out in the background represented by like... a responsibility and maybe another applicable complication or advantage. I probably wouldn't even want to take fame, since he hides his work and mundane personas from his fans.

Does that help pull his personality together a bit better?


As far as a more direct description of Powers... here are some Configurations that have cropped up in multiple rough drafts:

"Psychic Control" - Affliction X; (Resisted by Will, causes Entranced/Compelled/Controlled) Perception Range, Cumulative, Progressive, Incurable, Insidious, Subtle 2, Sense Dependent: Target must be able to hear his Voice

"Psychic Erosion" - Weaken: Will X; Incurable, Progressive, Insidious, Subtle 2, Sense Dependent: Target must be able to hear his Voice

"Telepathic Communication" - Communication X; Mental, Area (can communicate with multiples within range), Selective, Subtle 2

Other things have come and gone. The Professor X style Mind-Blast, Mind Reading, and physical defenses that can be resisted with Will saves have all made appearances. I know that I want to run him as a pure telepath with a couple of handy batman-esque Shark Repellant, anyone?gadgets. While telekinetic powers are super cool, I think that I'm going to fully take them off of the table.

I have an idea in my head for some powers, but want to make sure it works out.

First off I was thinking of using Growth, but on for increasing his density. This increase accounts for his strength and toughness.

What I was hoping to add to it was flying, with the limit being that it only counter acts his added weight.

The powers would have him weighing about 3 tons and I was hoping to use the flight to counter that so he is able to move around without destroying everything he walks on or sits on. But he can't actually fly, at this time. Maybe in the future. And of course if someone turns off or cancels his flight power, or he does, then his weight comes crashing down.

Just want to make sur ethe DM is okay with that.

Also, is Black Ice a name you came up with on the fly and we just make stuff up for his or her powers? Or is it a villain form one of the sources? I don't want to make stuff up if there is some info I can use to get some of the facts straight.

Goal is to get idea of writing and style so ust go for it, don't worry about taking liberties.

Personally, I'm thinking yeah you *could* do that - but why? Seems like half the fun of playing a character that weighs 3 tons is the breaking stuff from weighing 3 tons.
