For example, Grudge does have powers just by virtue of circumstances of his birth but they're explicitly magical in nature.

I don't think we need a specific definition of "mutant" unless the nature of those mutations is central to the game, such as in an X-Men type game.

I've been playing that as well. In fact this Pandagirl is based off of a CoH character of the same name.

Yes this is correct unless GM says otherwise - “mutant” is just a descriptor tag and does not alter effects. However, certain items/powers in game might specifically target mutants. Like some weird power suppression machine could send out a radiation that nullifies mutant powers, but it could equally as likely “dispel magic powers” so labels are occasionally important.

I was already going to say: very nice, Runetide, I absolutely adore CoH. But yeah it's a great game of cool character customization and power sets that has never been done so well anywhere else.

I spent more time making characters than I did getting over level 30. But this time I'm determined to make it to ancillary power pools with a spines/cold armor Brute speedster. They speed themself up and slow enemies to a crawl.

Agreed, Mitsubachi. I hope descriptors will spice things up. Visions of a Mister Sinister type cloning or turning off mutant powers. Or an enemy immune to psychic attacks. There's so much potential!

As an aside, @Girlplay, my favorite and first ever CoH hero was actually called Silver Seraphim! She was an empathy/psychic blast defender. Made her with the full metallic skin outfit and when they added wings, I was totally there to add them!

Not 100% sure RiftGirl works to be honest, but it's not bad. Just seems like your name is trying to go Golden-Age/Retro while the hero design isn't. But I picked the name "Grunge" so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

Speaking of which, similiar for Grunge. Comments and Critique welcome, even for the name.

So? Is this game set in the DC universe? There's no hard rule we can't use their names, just don't make it too obvious. Wink is pretty good too, and that was used in Marvel's Rise of the Imperfects.

[And I'm pretty sure Grunge was the name a character in Gen13 if I'm remembering right. :P]
