Hey, can I play? I'm not all that experienced, but I've done quite a few free form rp's, so I've got the roleplaying part straight.

Vertigo Blackheart

Vertigo was born into a noble family: the Takeryn House. His parents, Geldier and Ameryc, were renowned for their political position; they had a large influence on other houses and officials due to their wisdom and knowledge of the political games. They were manipulative and conniving at times, bending the will of others with their charismatic aura. Ameryc’s pregnancy was a mistake; Geldier had not intended on bearing a child with his wife, and Ameryc felt that they were not prepared for the responsibility.

At the first chance they got, Vertigo’s parents left him bundled up in blankets on the doorstep of Regall and Tyrin Blackheart’s cliffside home. When the couple found Vertigo the next morning, they were bewildered; his parents had left no information about him. Unprepared but unwilling to allow such a young child to be left without guardians, they accepted him into their home. They named him Vertigo for his fear of the height of the cliff near their home.

Regall and Tyrin could not have been ready for the trouble that lay ahead of them. Vertigo, upon early discovery that his guardians were not his true parents, refused to acknowledge them as such. He was a constant nuisance, wreaking havoc in the nearby village by stealing and setting booby traps for unwary residents. The people of the village shunned him and chastised the Blackhearts for not being able to control their child. It didn’t matter how many times they explained that he was not their brood.

Eventually, Vertigo grew to an age that he felt was the proper time to leave home. Without so much as a word to his foster parents, he gathered his things one day and disappeared. He left no indication of where he intended to go, although it wasn’t long before the town discovered that their general store had been invaded, and many supplies had been stolen, including several lock pick sets.

Vertigo traveled for years, migrating from town to town. He would stay for a few months in one area before moving on to the next, often emptying their shops of important or expensive items. Naturally, such a massive amount of theft caught the attention of the authorities, and it wasn’t long before he was under their custody. Vertigo served fifteen years in prison for his crimes, waiting patiently for his sentence to finish.

Once he was released, Vertigo attempted a quieter lifestyle, settling down in a small hamlet, and associating with the residents there. However, because his childhood was littered with tainted memories that he wished he could forget, his attitude towards other people was often aggressive and irrational. Try as he may, he never managed to truly adjust to any one location. Currently, he lives a somewhat nomadic way of life, traveling from village to village, avoiding too much contact with other people.
