Do you have a co-DM? Taking on 10 players is no easy feat.

You might actually want to go through an application process. I would consider the amounts of posts and xP a person has when making a game. Personal experience as a DM has told me that many new players with low posts tend to drop games and you are left shorthanded. Games like those do not last long, so an application process might be wise.

I think your game idea is interesting. Everything you need to know about me is in Players Seeking Games. Just follow this link and a my advertisement will be there.

Please inform me if this will be an novice game. I am looking for a well made game that will last and have in depth posting. I prefer to have neat organized games that will be fun and will not end in a matter of weeks. I do not enjoy having my time wasted as I am sure you do not. If this game is NOVICE, then by all means let me know.

Cheers,
-LoL

You know, just because someone has low post count or low xp doesn't mean they are going to drop games and stuff. That is a bit of a tough view on thigns. If you aren't willing to game with new members, how are they supposed to get their post counts up and stuff. Maybe you should worry more about quality than quantity. Or maybe whether a person is geniunly interested in a game.

I tend to side with JuryRig on the new/not-so-new people thing - after all, despite my pretty green name and my nice RPXP, I've probably only been a member of this site for three weeks myself. I've just managed to make my mark fairly well in three weeks.

I think the occasional game that requires a minimum RPXP/post count is a good thing - kinda like a "prestige" game that you have to earn your way into. But I would never want to see it become any kind of standard around here. We need to remain as newbie-friendly as possible. In fact, I think I'm going to announce a contest one of these days - DM who runs the best newbie game gets a CS subscription on me, or something of the like. But that'll have to wait until January, Christmas shopping is going to make me a very poor gamer indeed.

All of that having been said, Link, no, I don't have a Co-DM, and don't really feel I need one. I'm just that good. (Actually, if this were a chat-based or in-person campaign, there's no way I'd even attempt 10 people. But at play by post speed? I could probably handle /ten/ groups of 10 in two hours a day flat. Not that I'd want to - at a certain point it just gets very tedious, and I /would/ like to be a player in a few of them.) I can guarantee game stability, though, particularly in a campaign like this - in a serious campaign, a person dropping out would create a huge continuity issue, but in this campaign, I've got a thousand choices - the Hand of God could come out of the sky and squish him like a bug, a wandering Bag of Holding could suck him up... you get the idea.

As for whether this is a Novice game... well, I'm not a novice DM, if that's what you're asking. 15 years on the bench, actually 20 but the first 5 I completely sucked. (Then again, modesty aside, it takes a rare 8 year old to even TRY DMing, much less have any success). And the game is not specifically geared towards Newbies - I have "Training Grounds" in the 3.5 Homebrew section for that, and yes, that game sure is going slow as molasses. But then that's because they're newbies - lots to teach.

If you want to see my DMing style in more serious settings, check out "The Politics of Manhood", also in the 3.5 Homebrew section.

As the half-halfling dwarf tumbled inside the room, carrying a door on his forehead and a universe of curses on his lips, behind him a young member of a prestige class with a tie and a black suit whiped the tip of his black shoes with the back of his palm mumbling in a voice that sounded like a keyboard on a spam spree: Unrecognised races without bubble gum to chew. I guess I'll just have to kick ass. And the lawful prestige class stepped right in, making the semi-constient half-dwarf halfling look like a scared elder black darkness pudding of doom.

I'd love to play, it's been ages since I've done something silly.
I'm considering Generic Halfling Thief, or perhaps Lord Samuel, the Lawful Stupid Paladin, but I'll see what everyone else is doing first.

Fennick Wheater, Human Cleric of St. Cuthbert

Fennick Wheater
Lawful Neutral Human Cleric
Domains: Destruction and Strength

Fennick Wheater was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
His parents were trying to choke him with it.
After three straight days of drinking and wenching, Fennick's father, Kurt Wheater,
finally convinced comely barmaid Emilia Grand to sleep with him, with the aid of several
tankards of ale. However, in their drunken stupor, Emilia accidentally became with child,
and, since neither Kurt nor Emilia were particularly well off, baby Fennick was born in the
pigsty of Kurt Wheater's farm.
Unfortuantely for the unhappy couple, Fennick did not choke succesfully on the spoon,
and instead grew into a healthy young boy, despite his parents' best efforts.
On his third birthday, his parents baked him a delicious Black Lotus cake, which he survived
only due to his allergy to nuts, which were sprinkled on top.
At age seven, when he fell off one of Kurt's horses and broke his leg, Fennick was rather
shocked to find that the potion of Cure Light Wounds his father had brought him was really
a bottle of Alchemist's Fire.
Even more luckily for Fennick, as he grew, his faith in St. Cuthbert grew, as each day he
vowed for retribution against his parents. By age twelve, Kurt and Emilia were trying to
kill him almost once a week, with some 'accidents' more obvious than others. However,
Fennick, now a devout cleric, was able to cure himself every time. Eventually, this drove
Kurt and Emilia insane, and they kicked Fennick out of the house and out of their lives
forever.
Now, aged eighteen, Fennick is a working in a small town church of St. Cuthbert,
acting as a healer to the masses.

Fennick has soft brown hair and dark hazel eyes. His hair is worn long, in a pony tail, and he bears the marks of years of near-death experiences. He tends to be rather paranoid, but very good at spotting what could potentially be death in the making. However, he is not very intelligent, taking years to figure out what his parents were up to. He has a large frame, the result of years spent travelling on the road, and he is quite hardy. He has a fondess for cakes, and will stop at nothing to sample one if he spots it.
