Would using Spark on the oil work? Rules state that it has to be a Fine flammable object, so that would probably not work (unless a small patch of oil on the snow counts as a flammable object, which might be a little bit of a stretch), but from a role-playing perspective it might be different. Your call, just want to know that before I make my move!

By oil do you mean casting it on the grease patch from Talhoffer's spell? I would say that would be fine, if it's done in the first round the spell is cast. After that the snow would begin to absorb it and cover it, which would make it too hard to light.

Thought I should check in with everyone and see what's going on. Draco hasn't been on in almost a month, nor has Lightened been on for about a week. PCB has been around but hasn't posted here or in the game he DMs for some time either. So, I'd like to get some kind of update from those three as far as posting rate goes, if possible. Otherwise, the question I need everyone to answer is whether we should press on with the game or drop it. In reality, you guys will be at the half-way point for the adventure following this battle, so if we chose to press on we could probably complete the adventure within a month or so, given regular posting. I know my schedule is about to start freeing up come May, so this should be feasible for me to do. Let me know what you think.

The only reason I haven't given a map for this fight is that I don't want you to know where the pond is actually located, as I don't have an easy way to hide that feature. The pond and the snow blindness is part of the danger of the fight. I'll give it until monday to hear back from the others and then I'll NPC their actions until they can get back into the game or we finish it without them.

So, yeah, things have been hectic on my end, with finals approaching in a week or two. Sorry that monday date went by the wayside. I will get a post up soon, probably by morning, but I can't guarantee regular posting until May 1st. I'll try and do what I can until then, but I figure you could all at least use an FYI. That said, following the end of finals, I should be much more available to give regular posts.

So my schedule is opening back up starting this weekend. It should be at least somewhat more flexible for posting, though with my job it is hard to tell when they might try to give me a dozen more things to do. Sorry it has taken me to long to get back here but I've been all over the place and my posting has been spotty across the board.

I am still game and should be able to respond regularly in the future.
