"That cannot be Barran" Pavel thinks as he frantically dives for cover to the left. Rolling over he comes up on his feet bowstring taut and aimed at the shadow. "Surrender, or you will die!"

"My Sensei would not fire upon me." Pavel said as he shot the first arrow at the shadow. After quickly nocking a new one and letting it fly, he was already on the move.

"Durian how did we get out here." The voice was Durian's albeit an octave or two higher in tone. It was Keywe, his sister.
"I don't know" he answered himself. This time the voice was much deeper. He often wondered why he and his sister spoke at all. Sharing the same body as they had for 20 some years... they could certainly read each others mind. Loneliness he supposed. "Well it wasn't me who took us outside. Not this time." Keywe replied "Last thing I remember was I went to sleep while you were still ogling that wench in the inn." And when you slept I finally got some peace and quiet, Durian thought trying to compartmentalize his mind so his sister would not hear his thoughts. "I heard that" She said out lout in the annoying sing-song tome she knew he hated. "We share the same mind, so why do you even bother...." "Hush!" he told her. "Do your hear that? They both strained though one pair of ears to listen to the myriad of sounds surrounding them. Everything on the streets was covered in a thick mist or fog. So thick Durien swore he could slice through it with his dagger and serve it with biscuits. Somewhere in the middle of the billowing clouds was an ominous red glow. Or does it come from the edge? It was impossible to tell as the light reflected and bounced off of each sheet of the fog. There is the noise again, Keywe thought to her brother. And now... other sounds. Durian could hear heavy rhythmic breathing of some forsaken beasts. The sounds also bounced, so there was no way to tell if the creature was 10 feet or 100 feet from him. Now there were other noises coming from all around him. A dragging... no, not quite. More a scraping on the cobblestones that made up the road. It sounds as if it is monstrous claws of talons, Keywe thought to her brother. Then came the voices, a male and a female. These sounds were louder but Durian still could not make out the words or meaning. After a few moments the males voiced stopped and all Durian could hear was the woman begging in the dark. "Woman. You the one crying, are your all right?" Keywe shouted out through Durian's voice box. "Damn" Durian muttered under his breath. Thanks Keywe!. You just let what ever is out there know where we are. "We have to helps her" Keywe said. She then started walking with Durians body to the North. It was not but a few paces when they saw someone, maybe some thing. It was, Huddling close to the grounds. "What is that?" Keywe asked her brother. |

Cernan, startled out of concentration by yet more noise stops dead. He looks out through his door, and across the hallway to the door facing him, and sees more of these claw marks. "What kind of abomination made these?" He moves across the corridor to examine them closer, and senses, before he sees a female fetchling away to his right. In a commanding voice, he calls out to her "You there! Fetchling! Who are you, and what are you doing creeping around outside my room?"
Cernan immediately felt conscious of the fact he has now declared his presence to the whole hallway, and wondered vaguely about what spells he has at hand to defend himself. He sent a quick prayer up to his god "Grumbar, if it should please you to bless me on this night, let it be so for I sense danger and mayhem all around" While Cernan awaits a reply from the fetchling in front of him, he seems to notice the fog for the first time. "Fog? In a building? Yet more portents of something terrible brewing..." Cernan's mind raced as he tried to discern what the fog was, how it got here and how, if anything, it could be gotten rid of. |

Slowly and steady Krunch begins to chant under his breath, praying to Torm. "Give me the might to slay this ugly beast, savior these broken homes and protect my soul, mighty Torm". As Krunch chants he turns, raising his axe and jumping back before the large beast behind him has its chance to makes its move. "What are you?" he asks in awe as he stumble backwards away from the creature.

As she became accustomed to the smell, Elcia lowered her arm and held her hand near her hip, ready to draw her axe if trouble presented itself. She hurried on, and as she saw the carnage about the marketplace, her stomach turned. Arkos could be hurt, or worse...
Eventually she found him, though she wasn't sure what had happened to him. Elcia knelt down beside her friend and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Arkos... Arkos are you alright? Are you hurt? It's not safe here. We have to go. Go back inside, or find shelter... run for the woods, something!" She waved her sword through the air in frustration.

Rezzi turned her head to look at the man in the hall, with her free hand she moved her goggles from her eyes to the top of her head, then put her finger to her lips. She turned back to the stairs a moment, hearing the sounds coming from there, things seemed to be under control, she then moved to Perception

Cernan steadied, and looked at the woman in front of him. "What do you know of the events that are taking place all around us-you seem to be the quick and nimble type, no doubt you have seen things and garnered any amount of information. We can work together to discover the source of the fog and claw marks if we are quick."
Cernan turned to look at the unnatural fog, and he moved as if to touch it. Then, a thought struck him and he brought his hand back sharply, then began to concentrate. "Ashkneru-b'kathika!" Cernan stood back, and waited for his detect magic spell to take effect. |

"It's magic fog, as far as I can tell. The light comes from somewhere else, just warped by the fog itself. What I really want to know is if it's just some sort of creature."
