OOC: Just so that everyone knows where they are and what is happening: Reynard wandered off to check out the kidnapped Kobold. Basementicus and Angarato followed. Everyone ignored Thomas' question regarding Reynard joining the local guard. Reynard and Angarato are currently standing next to the door trying to listen through it but not hearing anything. Basementicus is waiting at the top of the stairs. I'll even push this slightly further to say that Reynard carefully tested the door and found that it is currently locked.

Blinking in surprise at the hasty arrival of his comrades, he steps away from the door and motions Angarato to follow as he climbs the stairs. He dispels his illusion, again slight of frame wearing a dusty cloak and mud spattered boots. He manages to look apologetic when he quietly says, "Sorry I ran off, I had hoped to catch up to them before anything happened. I don't like to think of what might be happening down there. Glancing between his companions, "The door's locked, any idea how we can get it open?"

Speaking softly, the drow says, "If we were hard pressed to get in now we could try to break down the door. We could also search for the key or try to pick the lock. I'm not too eager to start making enemies as soon as we show up in town though."
"Also, we might want to consider the reason why that kobold was brought down there. From my experience in bars, a belligerent customer is simply thrown out. This is likely a different situation." Last edited by Explosionguy; Jan 13th, 2014 at 03:10 AM. |

Angarato quietly follows Reynard up to the top of the stairs, whispers, "I think the more important question is why should we try to get in? My Sense Motive Roll - 28 from other threadread of the situation is that they are seeking retribution for some perceived harm committed by the Kobold toward their employer. I think they are seeking to exact some retribution via some obviously private means since they went down there. (pointing toward the locked door) I think this is none of our affair, since these guys are obviously working for someone with some type of organized enterprise, we could be jumping into the middle of a something larger. How about we slip away and head to Easton before we loose to much daylight?"
Not that losing daylight was of any real concern, since Angarato could see perfectly well in the dark up to a good distance. Last edited by Angarato; Jan 13th, 2014 at 06:45 PM. |

Realigning himself with the group the stone man states "I am completely indifferent to the fate of a little lizardling, especially when it involves both breaking and entering, and criminal trespass. Nothing about languishing in the local jail will aid our quest, unless that kobold is actually an errant prince and he rewards us for his rescue with titles and land."

OOC: Suddenly remembering his alignment, he feels the urge to do something spontaneous.
"I fear we have all had a bit too much to think here. Damn the consequences, I'm going to go knock on the door." Walking down the stairs, the suddenly less bland drow raps sharply on the door. |

You hear a reply from inside. "Go away, there is nobody here. Just wine and roots. Now shoo!" Whoever answered is either not very bright or very drunk... which is much the same thing.

You hear some muffled whispering followed by a bunch of shushing. Otherwise they don't respond as they continue to pretend they are not actually there. Whether or not you choose to pursue this the day is still ticking along. However, you do still have about an hour to leave before you will have to start worrying about walking in the dark.
OOC: It is currently early morning on a brisk fall day. If the group leaves in about an hour they will arrive at whichever city they decide on right around dark.

OOC: An hour should be plenty of time to bust out a kobold.
"Come on, the stuff's getting flat out here; and it ain't the cheap stuff either! How long are we gonna have to wait?" |

"Aye, but we said nobody is 'ere so nobody is ere. Got it? Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!" The man replies "No go away before I taunt you a second time!" You hear in the back ground a couple other guys laughing and the faint sound of one saying "dude, did you just quote that play we saw last week?" Followed by more shushing.
