Ok, your GM is confessing to something I do all the time: I had to look it up to remind/refresh myself.
Here is a quote from the book:
Try again: Yes. You can try to sense something you missed the first time., so long as the stimulus is still present.

What that tells me is, you can all roll another perception check. DC is 20.
OR, and this is on another page, someone could just take 20.

No, I understand about metagaming and player knowledge vs character knowledge. But in this case, you've all been searching rooms all along, this was just a case of no bad consequence if you fail, so that allows the 'taking 20' although it means it takes longer than a cursory look-see.

Y'all just rolled terribly! And there is information to the story line to be imparted through these items, so if anyone rolls high enough, I can provide those items of information.

Kazgar only has craft- traps; so none of the items are useful to/by him

Would a good Knowledge Arcana Check help us figure out if we can use the cursed items that we found? Otherwise Cronus is considering trying to destroy them

I have to think about that. Its not a 'fact' thing that can be known from history, its more of a 'situational' thing that, I don't know how, might be detected, if at all. Definitely in the necromantic, or religious topic than arcane, though. Not sure if your cleric-types have any spells or skills that might reveal it. Let me think on it.
