Chemisty notices that 'Ken' has quite a few small non-serious injuries, such as welts and bruises, perhaps inflicted by the guards after he was put in the cell.

Chemistry talks quietly to Gustav about the guards' mistreatment of Ken. She's not surprised to see it, but asks, "He's being beaten up. Can we get someone down here to keep an eye out, so that doesn't happen anymore?"
How many guards are there?

There are two guards present on this shift.
Gustav threatens the guards, tells them he'll go to the Chief Judge if it happens again. They seem genuinely afraid of that happening.

Keeshraal and Cronus also notice the marks on Ken.
Keeshraal also notices some smirks on the face of the guards when the abuse is pointed out to the lawyer.

Keeshraal looks at the smirking guards but addresses the lawyer, "Would it not be prudent to inform the judge now?"

The lawyer looks at the guards, and at Ken, and tell you he will tell the judge first thing in the morning.

Cronus nods "I agree, it would be very prudent to let the Judge know. First thing in the morning if we may accompany you, we should."

Chemistry suggests they go back to the crime scene, and this time ask to search the office thoroughly. Hopefully the group's status as defense assistants will provide some authority to be able to ask that.
When they reach the offices of Dr. Crowl, she asks if they can do a more thorough search of all the areas the defendant was known to have invaded. She encourages the others to do the same, and she casts Detect Magic before doing so herself. Dice Perception:

The Dr explains that they caught The Beast in the one room, where the damage occurred, and that he was attempting to leave that room when they caught him.
You find no traps. There are some scrapes on the window sill that no one else seemed to notice. Outside that window, which is too small for The Beast to get through, there are a couple trampled flowers in the bed beneath the window. But grass and then pathways outer from that, now with literally hundreds of footprints from normal campus activity.

(If the window is big enough, Kat will climb out onto the ledge, cast Levitate lower herself so she is just above the grass and try to examine the footprints for any clues they may give
