Hangs back, silent, trying to look friendly. Dice diplomacy 'aid':
Keeshraal steps up beside Chemistry. "Hello. We just came from Lepidstadt. Heard about the Beast and came to see if we could help in any way." Though he smiles, his long, feline incisors may not be seen as friendly. Dice diplomacy:

Lazne responds most friendly to Chemistry. He eyes a couple of the other warily, but doesn't seem to put off by them, but clearly he's talking to Chemistry.
I will show you where the crimes took place. The beast snatched 10 more victims before finally being driven away by a mob of villagers. They chased the “Beast” into the swamp, where they saw it attacked by a blood caiman and assumed it was killed. He relates to you the sequence of events, The villagers only realized that the “Beast” had escaped when the village elder, Lazne, was called as a star witness by the prosecution for the Beast’s trial, since he led the mob that drove the Beast away. Lazne claims that at first the Beast only took lone villagers who were outside at night, but soon became bolder and began to attack houses. These attacks only ended when Lazne organized the villagers and set a trap for the Beast. He recalls that night well. The villagers were lying in wait for the Beast, who attacked just after nightfall. Armed with torches, the locals attacked and wounded the creature—a huge, hulking brute about 7 feet tall. The Beast took to the water, but the swampers gave chase in their boats, pursuing it to the village boneyard, where it was attacked by a blood caiman. Lazne grins as he recalls how the Beast yelled oaths and curses that even the worst whore in Lepidstadt would blush to say as the gator attacked it, and describes the deep bite wound the gator made on the Beast’s shoulder as it dragged the Beast under the water. Although the Beast’s blood tainted the villagers’ burial ground, forcing them to abandon it and build another, the swampers thought it a small price to pay for the thing’s death. Hearing that the Beast actually survived was all that Lazne needed to tell his story to the authorities, and he’s looking forward to seeing it burn. He will escort you to the Burial ground to see the area for yourself. He tells Chemisty, your friends can come too.

Chemistry listens carefully to Lazne's story, and makes a few points to check. She wonders if the Beast here might still be in the swamp. She also wonders if Ken had any significant injury on his shoulder, and tries to recall. She thanks him for his explanation.
She agrees, and lets the man escort them to the burial ground. While they go she'll ask him for more description about the Beast - eyes, hair, any other distinguishing physical traits. She also asks about the blood caiman; it must have been pretty large to be able to pull a seven foot hulk under the water.

His indication of a blood caiman is what we OOC would call an alligator or crocodile,
His description of the beast is pretty vague. about 7 feet tall, large build, ragged mudstained clothing. it takes 3 boats to take you all to the island, since Lazne is somewhat smitten with Chemistry, he waives their usual fee of 5 gp per boat. Takes about half an hour of slow movement through the waterways (if you can call them that) of the swamp to finally get to the island.

Chemistry asks when these attacks happened. When they reach the island, she thanks the boaters and says to Lazne, "Could you please show me where he was taken under by the Blood Caiman?"

Once they land on the island, Keeshraal will look about for tracks [ even though it's been SO long and he's NOT skilled in it ] or signs of struggle.

The old village boneyard lies about a mile north of Morast on a low, wooded isle. Some 40 graves, each marked with a simple wooden fetish man, lie on the island
A tiny, miserable island rises from the swamp, a tangle of trees covering its dour, reed-choked surface. Hundreds of fetishes hang from the trees—simple, roughly humanoid fgures made of sticks and bound with twine. Larger fetishes are planted in the ground on various parts of the island, leaning drunkenly in the sof mud. A large nest built of sodden swamp wood sits high in the boughs of a trio of tangled trees on the northwest side of the isle. Lazne tell you he's staying in the boat. He points to a section along the shore of the island where he says the caiman took the Beast. GM to players; Whatever you do, roll the appropriate skill for that activity.

Chemistry climbs out of the boat and onto the island. She quickly casts Mage Armor on herself, then heads to the shore nearest the spot where the Beast went under. She looks around for any sign of Beast or beast.

If nothing is seen, she'll cast Detect Undead, and start scanning around with it, starting with the same location - where the Beast was taken under.

Cronus will cast Air Bubble around himself and risk going into the water and looking around
Kat will cast Detect Poison and scan the area on the island where the party is standing

Lazne shows you where the caiman attacked The Beast.
this island is approximately 85' by 85' but not square.... its wooded. If you leave the vicinity of where Lazne landed you, I need to know distance and direction. He landed you on the west-most side of the island, and just south of that a bit is where the caiman attacked. Again, whatever you're looking for, I need a Perception check. No poison, no undead.

Keeshraal and Kazgar will go to look where the caiman attacked - to see if it's an active hunting area; perhaps they'll find something more
