@Remorraz: there should be ways not to start in slaveform... but they are also spoilers for the books! (Probably book 2 for the reveal I'm thinking about? It's been a long time since I read it.) Last edited by namo; Sep 26th, 2024 at 06:04 PM. |

Nasrith, you asked for my thoughts on the Plot Dice and I have played with something similar in a game system called Blades in The Dark or Blades From the Dark... something like that. The idea, as explained in your link, is exactly what I remeber. But, in the two (sadly) short games that I played using that system, it absolutely added more oomph[ to skill tests and the story.
More than once, I recall a spectacular fail on a skill test, but also a few big successes. Dice rolls like this don't turn me off, no not at all! But the thought is absolutely appreciated. Win or lose, the characters have to live with whatever happens! Super fun idea taht I am glad to see is mixed in here! |

Believe it or not, I hadn't put that together at all but wow, yeah, maybe a little. The character parallel I'd been thinking of was Axies the Collector... but for cremlings instead of spren. And (presumably) less immortal.

It makes complete sense to not start as a Radiant, both because we're "low-level" and because it's cool to RP through the oaths, but I figured I'd state my interest upfront. |

@Everyone, I don't normally do this, but nothing about recruiting for this game is normal for me. I'm actually going to move UP the timeline for when applications close to the morning of Wednesday, October 3rd.
We've got enough players, and my decision will be challenging as it is. I don't expect to cut off anyone halfway through writing their application with this move since the whole application process is super simple. I also want to give anyone who is accepted and isn't a weekend poster time during the week to start building their characters with everyone else. So, want to apply? Let me know by Tuesday night MT. I'll let everyone know who's selected on Wednesday morning.

I leave for a wedding the 3rd (Thursday, no?) but I'll be checking the site from my phone the whole weekend!
About the Parsh forms, I was thinking about the Dullform, which (according to Wikipedia) is identical to the Slaveform but has a bit more consciousness, just to have a bit more personality from the get-go. Apparently is a form resulted from "an incorrect bonding, or a bonding with a spren that has no newer forms to offer". I'm still pretty ignorant about Parsh bonding and forms (as I'm still 1/5th of the first book), so I'm ok to start in Slaveform and in the course of the first adventures, to gain Dullform and/or others more evolved forms, as I'd like to roleplay a Parsh who slowly discovers its own culture and its own place in the world. (if chosen, bla bla..)

Since you found it on your own, I'll say that Dullform is a good choice! (I'm not the DM, though. He might let you have another form.)
If we were to stick to canon, you would then have to roleplay your PC as fairly slow-witted though. Which can be nice RP but might grow tiring in the long run. |

Nano's right on with this one.
When you referred to Slaveform instead of Dullform, I assumed you meant Dullform because I don't think Slaveform is mentioned in the Cosmere rules. Dullform is absolutely fine to start in.

I am going to withdraw my partial app. As much as I would love to give this a go, I am just too strained with real life to give this the focus it is due.

I'll be honest with you all. Normally, I'm pretty confident when I pick players for a game. Just this once, though, I reeeeeally wish I could take all of you. I can't, though. The game would suffer, largely thanks to my own skillset.
With that in mind, here are the selected players:
For those selected, you can head over to the Bridge Nine Game Forum, introduce yourself, and start thinking/talking about who you would like to play. Everyone else, thank you so much for applying. I appreciate you immensely and you are squarely on the reserve list if we have anyone drop.
