A few moments later, the 'welcoming party' arrives. "This is my vessel gentlemen," a tired Nerra Diplomacy Dice Roll:
Dice Roll:
While she waited for Jason to decide if he wanted to comply to her request or not, she continued. "Sadly, my captain is currently unavailable. However, as ship's owner, I have as much authority on Mystic's Grace as he does, I'd be more than willing to sign your ledger in his place. You fine gentlemen will allow a ship's owner to sign in the place of her captain, won't you?"

Thamuz wholeheartedly agrees with Nerra's proposal and heads below deck, where he wakes his feline brother. He then pulls out the note he obtained on The Dolphin and rereads it, remembering what Shandar and Lady Gray were saying...
"What did the mean man look like?" Lady Gray had asked, raising an eyebrow. "Like him," Shandar pointed to Jason Hale, the Inquisitor. "He looked like that. But he had less hair and was older. He had a scar..." She put a finger through her eye to her lower cheek. "I know where he's going, Lady. To the city of steam. A place where there's a ship. A special ship. He was gonna take me there and sell me, but he changed his mind." Lady Gray trembled. "You mean the High Inquisitor Sorvos? Child are you sure? He's a well respected man." "High Inquisi'ah Sorvos, Ahm comin' fer ye. Sellin' girls an' takin' ships. Ahl 'ave me answers (it's a bit tricky, but his accent's tricky to transcribe)ansa's or yer 'ead... oah both." Thamuz says to himself, making sure his pistols are loaded and his weapons ready. He lights a Koffin Nail and takes a deep drag. "Oh, yeah... Ahm comin' fer ye."

Nanaki stands to the side and listens to Nerra speaking. She talks too much. No one comes right out and says what they mean. Nanaki keeps looking around, unknowingly giving everyone a clear view of her heavily tattooed face and neck.

On the Dock:
The man with the ledger writes something down and holds the book out to Nerra. Please sign your name. And if you could, write in any cargo or business here. If you're not a merchant or slaver, feel free to write 'Visiting'- unless you're immigrants, then I'll need to have to show you to the immigration office. We, at Port Steam, keep track of all the local and foreign business within our walls. May we inspect your cargo? One of the guards asks. It won't take long. We just want to make sure you're not storing illegal substances and such... |

"You may inspect the cargo hold of Mystic's Grace. However, one of my crew and I will be accompanying you to assure the rest of my crew that you do not go through their personal gear," Nerra replied evenly. She took the pro-offered book and filled it out quickly.
"Nanaki, would you join me as escort to these fine gentlemen?" she inquired of the tough looking woman. The feline woman returned her attention to her soon to be guests. "I have granted you permission to inspect the cargo hold on the provision that myself and one of my crew be present to assure the privacy of personal gear remain intact. If you consent to that condition, welcome aboard for the duration of your inspection."

Nananki stands a bit straighter and nods once sharply. She walks up to Nerra, waiting to follow. Her eyes travel over the men, judging them on how they would fare in a fight. She smiled, hoping she would get a chance to fight something before the day was over.

On the deck:
The guards call over another pair of guards that were 'wandering by' over to Mystic's Grace. They stand by the mooring ropes while the first two come aboard. Both men are average in size and looks with sun-burnt skin. They look about twenty-five. They walk about, cautiously inspecting the ship and crew. They fish through a few things and check many of the bags and boxes, some possessions of the crew, but put everything back in place. When they see Sharbait lying below, they ask only give dry looks and say nothing more than Poor bloak. Looks pretty banged up. Thamuz tries to look anonymous, but they ignore him anyhow. One guard comments on the crew's racial diversity, but seems to shrug it off. Satisfied with their search, they come back up and inform the old man, Nothing to fret over here, Sir. Poor fellow down below looks like he needs a priest for last wishes. Nothing interesting in the cargo. A few fire arms, but not enough to be alarmed. 'Visitors'. After a few minutes of sorting things out, the guards leave. Er...Welcome to Port Steam. Please enjoy your stay, the old man turns and heads over to another boat just docking. Alias stays away from the men, not wanting them to notice the half-elf with gold eyes and white hair. He fiddles with his daggers when the mens backs are turned and when they leave, he strolls up to Thamuz. Standing next to him looking out onto the Port, he speaks slow and meaningful.
"That man that we found on the good Lady's ship...he was a man of the church was he not. It gave me no qualms looting his body. Exactly what was the poor girl on the ship alone for is what iI am wondering? And I'm concerned about the dragon, How on earth are we going to find your ship, Captain? This is meaningless of course but whatever you decide I will follow along with no complaint. You have my blades in your crew for as long as we last on this quest." Surprising himself with his unusual excessive talk he falls silent and continues to look out at the Port, listening as Thamuz responds.

Once the men were gone, Nerra turned to face her crew. "Alright. I need everyone to search for someone who's more of an actual medic than I am. I heal primarily by spells and I can't heal my Brother without proper help." Nerra made sure that her request was stated loud enough for everyone on deck to hear her. "I will be below deck if you need me. Whatever you do, stay out of trouble."
