The Rumor Mill
Just keep it clean, the name of the thread is not "The Filthy Gutter" for a reason. As this is the only open thread in the game folder right now, if you have stumbled in here from who-knows-where and have questions about something going on around here, this is the place to ask them. Besides that possibility, I don't expect much activity here any time soon. [EDIT 1-28-2012]: Oh, and one more thing. If you are browsing either the Tourists' Guide or the Players' Guide subforums and come across a broken link, a typo, an unfinished sentence, or the like, this is the place to point out my error. I expect I will mess up one or two links, given that I have begun to cross-link the threads in the Tourists' Guide and there are a lot of links to add.

Yeah I don't have any slick rhymes to spit, but I'll still say hi.
"Hi."

Another red stalker!?
![]() Thanks, I'll check it. I might have just started rewriting that rule and forgotten to finish - I do that sometimes. [EDIT]: That's exactly what happened.

You have no idea how true that will turn out to be.
![]() What the above sentence means, of course, I'm not at liberty to say.

Do characters have identification papers of any kind? How does one prove one's identity or nationality?

Of course. One is directly outside the door of the other.
![]() And if you're keeping tabs on people you find concerning, should I refrain from declaring myself Aeternis' green stalker?

Sifer, your question is a good one, which depends entirely on the nationality of the character. For example, one who pays allegiance to the sprawling Republic of Lectan might have an ID card of some kind, properly magically stamped. A character from the Institute might be able to demonstrate his officiality with a specific use of his magic.
Of course, if you're a citizen of the Collectivist Union, you have a whole ream of papers that need to be in order to do just about anything. Most of the papers required to do what a PC does are impossible to legally acquire (unless you are extremely well connected), so such a character would start with forgeries, just like any other PC who calls the Union home. There's no world-spanning documentation system, though. In most places either you're a registered local or you aren't, and if you aren't that's all they care to know. Law enforcement does, after all, have access to reasonably powerful divination, that eliminates a lot of the need for papers. Aethera - You can if you'd like. Somehow "green stalker" seems far less imposing though.
