I wouldn't say they'll influence my decision, I won't pick one since they tell me to, but I prefer to appeal to greater collection of creativity than my own insanity. Other people's ideas may prove to be a voice of wisdom.

Haven't heard from either Athena or Hydra... can you two weigh in, please and thank you? I don't know what your driving forces are going to be in this game, whether your focus will be out in the wilderness searching for lost things or in the city's intrigue. The direction(s) you prefer will affect how I choose to focus Mina. Thanks.

Well, I was under the impression that we were going to be doing both. At to what ratio, that's hard to say. Depends on things that haven't happened yet and the like.

That's why I'm having trouble making a choice. It's a current status versus potential status issue.

Would either of you have issues with me turning Mina into a potential ruler? The IC dynamic wouldn't change abruptly, she's not like that, but the dynamics of the group both IC (and a little OOC) would change if she actually became focused on trying to become Queen. There'd be a lot more politics I imagine, if that were the case.

Also, Gav would prefer to find a legitimate heir, if he can, and would probably spend a couple years running down leads before turning to the possibility of trying to put a fake Queen on the throne.

My boy Denny's gonna be a straight-up mercenary. He's looking to make enough money to buy back his daddy's farm. He'll take coin any way he can get it, which oughta make him pretty flexible in terms of where he goes.

Oh, she's about as legitimate as it gets this far down the line, so she would be a "real" Queen, not a pretender. The issues with her as heir would be because of tainted blood, not because she wasn't a legitimate descendant of someone royal. It would turn the game into the fight for the throne, not just the precursor searching part. But if you're uncomfortable with Mina getting put forward like that, I can go the other direction instead and just make her a solid supporting role, instead of center stage. That's why I asked... there can be OOC ripples when one PC gets focused on so much, and I don't want to undermine the game by putting her further forward than you all are okay with. If it'd bring down the game later on because you're sick of The Mina Show, I'd rather just not go there to begin with. She would make just as good a focus for a push to the throne as she would a solid supporter of an NPC heir.

Okie dokie then, Mina's sheet is done, except for spells. I left blanks, but damn I hate choosing spells. I'm just really bad at it.

I did end up buying a horse and riding kit, since outside the capitol there are larger distances between things. If I end up not needing the horse, well, maybe Gav has an extra stall in his stables? I'll deal with that then.

So, um. I know I haven't exactly been around anyway, but is there any kind of ETA on this game? I'm doing some planning of my expected time this fall, and I would like to know how many games I'm actually in.

Ooookay folks. Believe me when I say I hate to do this--because I'm a DM too and I know how much this messes with everything--so yes, I HATE to do this...but my life has plunged past the point of no return in terms of busy-ness. That means there is absolutely no way I'm going to be able to commit to this game with anything resembling an acceptable posting rate. I just informed my own players in my own game that I'm only going to be able to manage 1 post per week for the foreseeable future, so there's nothing I can do but withdraw from this game.

I'd like to think that it's better I do this beforehand instead of cut out in the middle of the game. Either way though, I understand the headache this sort of thing causes. If I could stay, I would. Trust me.

Thanks to you Aeternis for inviting me in, even if I never got started in the game. I'll hopefully be able to follow this game along and see how things play out.
