I suppose that's one interpretation of events. Technically the beetles won't really have any ability to fight the swarm, but they'll be a pretty good distraction, which won't translate into more zombies for the wasps later.

The whole idea is to get the wasps to leave me alone and not keep trying to get into the carriage, or get at the horses. After all, the beetles will disappear soon enough, and maybe take the wasps with them! Or immolate them before they go.

Fire beetles don't actually have fire attacks...

They can still take the wasps WITH them when they go!

I'll have to look up something about how summons work to see if that's the case.
