Orichulum: I would recommend some adventuring gear.
Ermine: I would recommend some ranks in craft (poison-making). There are some significant poisons in your homeland, even though you are good aligned your people consider poison a part of life. High fort save fits your homeland very much. I would also recommend something a little more for your long term goals, (Maybe why is reading so important? what is it you wish to learn?) Good build btw. |

Took some ranks in it. Skill ranks had to be rebalanced anyway.
I'll come up with another long-term goal, but expand that one, too, when I have more time (I'm on break at work right now and my time's almost up). Edit: Does that look okay now? Last edited by Ermine; May 28th, 2020 at 09:09 AM. |

Are Lesser Planetouched available from the Player's Guide to Fearun? I'm considering Lesser Air Genasi.
Also do you care about favored classes? Sorry if this is a weird question, I've just been playing in the same 3.5 group for years and they never did, but I know that's not by the book. Last edited by smeowlin; May 28th, 2020 at 08:03 AM. |

Name: Ilod Dolbin (prounound "EE-lod")
Character Sheet: Ilod Dolbin Basic Physical Description: A pale middle-aged mountain dwarf, 4'2" tall and 145 lbs (which is slightly below average for a dwarf). The cursed serpent tattoo below his left eye is a well-known mark, common to all people of the Broken Lands. Ilod's has hair the color of straw, though it is now graying in many places. He typically keeps his beard cut fairly short to keep it out of his way, and he frequently covers his balding pate with a hood or beret. Race: Mountain Dwarf Class: Wizard (Specializing in divination, with necromancy as his restricted school) Brief Background: Ilod is a second-generation immigrant to the Broken Lands, as both of his parents were mercenaries hailing from the dwarven nation of Limār. Hired for one of the countless skirmishes against Bloodcrown, his parents were offered a small tract of fertile farmland at the northwestern edge of One Seed Forest as payment for a very successful defensive effort, saving hundreds of civilians. They decided to stay on the surface and raise their son together here. Ilod learned his craft while serving as an apprentice to an elven wizard living nearby his childhood home. Though the dwarf's lawful bent often put him at odds with his mentor, they got along well enough. Finally having acquired enough knowledge to set out on his own, Ilod leaves the service of his master in search of a way to break the curse over the Broken Lands. His recent ascension to level 3 is due to the experience he's gained while following multiple dead-end leads. Personality: Ilod values knowledge above almost anything else, which is why he chose to specialize in divination. Unlike many less scrupulous diviners, Ilod tries to make sure his art respects the privacy of others as much as possible (this sentiment does not extend to villains. In Ilod's view, the wicked have no rights). He is calm and confident in most situations, and seeks to impart these qualities to those around him. He is noticeably silent in regards to his religious beliefs, unless pressed on the subject by someone he trusts very well. Though the dwarf is lawful neutral, he tends to think of himself as good. Most would probably agree with this assessment majority of the time, as publicly Ilod seems to share many of the values common to good individuals; he protects the innocent, does what he thinks is best for his community, and seeks to eradicate evil while fighting with honor. However, he does have a darker side rarely seen by most. EDIT 2: More last minute stuff to cram in here.

Is there a deadline for applications? I didn't see one in the opening post, but I've already demonstrated my inability to find things many times. ^//^

Don't feel bad Ermine. It happens to the best of us, whether we admit it or not! As of yet, I don't see a deadline for applications mentioned.

Smeowlin: I allow lesser planetouched. I also forgot to put in the house rules that I don't really care about favored classes.
Crimson: I like the concept, even a low level mage would know that the curse is near impossible to break. there are rumors of some very powerful individuals wishing it away, or gods removing it, but that is only on one individual. I am sorry about not putting a closing date. This is my first time on this board I did not know how long it would take; especially with house rules and me having no reputation/friends as of yet. However I do like to keep things moving, hopefully you can tell that I respond often, so am going to put a date of June 5th. I have four who have stated interest, three who have a character submitted. I would like 5 (someone always seems to drop out) so if you know anyone who might be interested maybe throw them a link. i will update opening post. lol, yeah. Its one of the things I fill in after all the more meaty mechanical nuts and bolts have been tightened down. I'll probably continue to make minor adjustments until the last minute. I have some further thoughts on Claudine's condition that I might like to discuss in PM if that suits you.

I won't lie. I was originally going to make a red-headed psionic scion of Phoenix but thought that would have been a bit too tongue in cheek for taste.

Crimson: not trying to get you to change it. I was giving you some information on what rumors says might work.
I think it is a great motivation. Last edited by Dieuoffire; May 28th, 2020 at 03:41 PM. |

IMHO the more epic and difficult the motivation is to complete, the better. Then again, I played Exalted for some years and that game tends to color your view of character motivations a bit. "Uniting the barbarian hordes of the North under a single banner" would be act one for that game.
