Relief floods through his system as Vania responds to the treatment and sits upright, Cross lets out a breath he hadn't even realised he was holding and can only watch frozen in surprise and confusion as she pulls out a device from the Void and before he can stop her she plants it and switches it on. He can feel the life being drained out of him for a moment before Snowlily responds and destroys it. too late for some of the other patrons.
"VANIA!" his voice shocked and angry at what she had just tried to do, for the moment though he was ignored as the sisters spoke and planned, Snowlily finally turning to Cross and asking for permission to form an army it seemed, Cross took another shot of the purple drink Declan had brought before he answered.
"What was that? that isn't who you are Vania, you are not the monster they say you are. Genocide? really? is that really your response to this..to kill everyone on the planet. Trillions of people for the actions of some? Millions of children like you were? Declan? Your aunt and uncle? your sister? Me? Where is your patience girl? didn't i promise you i would always protect you? that we would pay back every pain that was done to you and your sister? i'm disappointed"
Cross looked at the girl with sadness in his eyes for a moment before turning to his other daughter, looking at him excitedly.
"Yes Butterfly, get the troops ready, we will need them when we go after the emperor but they are not to be used on innocents on this planet and they are not under the command of Vania, they are yours until she proves she has the patience to use them properly. We have been labelled Renegades and Monsters, we will not prove them right"
Cross leaned down and gave her a small hug and kissed her forehead, whispering "Thank you princess"
"I promise we will get our revenge on Sara very soon but right now we have to shift our focus. Your sister was just attacked and he either thinks he was successful or that we will be focusing on the Specter first with the information he has given us. I do not want to give him time to prepare for the retaliation he must know is coming"
"Declan? i'm sure an informed gentleman like yourself can tell me where i can find Mr Beuford this evening?"
"Rose. please will you contact Xel and Mari and ask them if they have retrieved their supplies and inform them what happened to Vania. they need to be prepared for repercussions. There is an animal which needs to be put down"

When Cross metiones Xel and Mari the orc and his wife come through the door Xel wearing heavy combat gear And carrying a large item on his back aside from his minigun Mari of course carries her sniper and now wears combat gear similar to Cross's "Crossy do you need even call for me an Xelfor as Rosey there is ahead of you on that she called when Vania was poisoned" Xel set the item on his back down and it open up into a portable armory sporting several weapon types Lily also having several of her crates teleported in by her station but the crate actually holds a change of clothes for herself she runs into the bathroom with the crate coming back five minutes later wearing a thick red turtleneck shirt and black sweats "I'm sitting this one out Daddy i have to coordinate the drones and the ships construction we have approximately a month on the ship but assault company's one and two are ready as well as the heavy battle suite i outfitted for long range sniping for you" Declan who had disappeared comes back with a small data stick "you'll find Al there and do me a favour let Vania do the deed she needs the closure speaking of where is the lass" Declan and Cross spend the next half hour looking for Vania finding her sat on the roof of a nearby empty apartment drinking the same esoteric black fluid with purple fumes from the previous day in the raven right out of the bottle "Go away" her words slur for once Cross can tell she's not just buzzed but very drunk the bottle being nearly empty with several more littered throughout the roof Declan leaves back to the bar letting Cross handle Vania "i should have killed that ass down there in the bar" she stands on the ledge her hair casting a glittering curtain over the city skyline the orange lights of city center beckoning rebellion Vania's cyberarm fingers still curled into sharp points her other arm dripping glittering black fluid from the wrist "I still can't die not from blood loss or poison he would have killed me for about three days then i'd come back" her embrace of the everlasting void within her having a strange effect on her physiology or at least what was left she then drops the bottle behind her plunging her cyberarm hand into her chest and pulling out her heart the arteries still connected and the heart still beating she gives a drunken nervous laugh" so dose still beat cute" she takes the beating organ holding it for the world to see was anyone but Cross watching "What do you think my heart beats that has to mean something right" she marches over to Cross taking his hand in hers and places her heart in it "you decide does it beat like a humans or something else does it even beat because i'm high out my mind and very drunk im probably hallucinating i swear it stopped beating when i was ten cause i stopped hating killing things and started to love it more than anything no remorse people ask if i feel the sins of my life crawling on my skin my answer is no every time" as she rants drunkenly about the past Cross feels the heartbeat steady unphased by it's presence outside the body and the fact Cross holds it Vania even stopped holding his hand up black fluid staining his palm as it drips from the messy removal however Vania becomes increasingly frantic the more she dwells and rants about the past

Cross can't help smiling as his family comes into the bar as if they warped themselves when they heard their names, he wasn't surprised really. Despite her new stubborn streak, Rose had always anticipated his needs long before he realised it himself, he should have expected her to make the calls as soon as she heard what happened.
{B]"Thank you Rose"[/B] he whispered into his sub-vocal microphone as he watched his family effectively take over Declan's bar as a staging area. He should probably say something but Declan seemed the type who would deal with it himself if he had an issue with it. Seeing Snowlily returning, having changed he smiled, definitely approving of her clothing choices more than the ones Vania had picked for her from the vile Tailor, giving her a nod as she told him she would be staying behind.
"Thank you butterfly, we will keep that till we go after Sara, i have a feeling Long Range isn't going to be possible when we confront Mr Beuford, so..."
Cross turned to Mari "As much as i value you watching my back, you will be more use to us here watching over Snowlily, please will you stay with her? I would like to borrow your husband though if he is up for it. his particular expertise is going to be ideal for close quarters. Beuford is bound to have bodyguards who will need softening up"
At Declan's return, Cross takes the data stick and slips it into his Pad, letting Rose download and collate the data the way she did with Beuford's data, thanking the man, though he was unable to promise to let Vania be the one to take care of him, it was then they realised that Vania had disappeared and went looking
Finding the girl on the roof of a nearby building, several bottles deep in whatever she had found which was capable of effecting her enhanced metabolism, Declan took his leave and left Cross to deal with his upset child. For long moments all he could do was ignore her repeated calls for him to "go away" and let her rant and rave, only moving to guide her away from the edge of the apartment when her stumbling steps get too close and she kicks empty bottles over the side.
Finally her ranting escalates and she pulls her still human heart from her chest, Cross doesn't know how but the cybernetics in her system keep her alive as she holds it in her hand, seeping and dripping black blood onto the roof top with every pulse and beat. He is shocked for a moment as she takes his hand and puts her heart literally in his hands and all he can do is look at her, tears forming in his eyes as he see's how much pain she is in.
As the girls words become more frantic, he reaches out with his free hand and takes her own, placing it on his chest as he holds her heart in his other hand, holding it there as he speaks softly through her tirade of emotional words
"Vania. Vania listen to me. Look at me sweetheart. Vania"
"Do you feel that? it beats just like yours. it hurts just like yours and when your's stops, whether its just for 3 days or for eternity, it will stop just like yours. but look at your heart Vania, look at it. its not an hallucination, it beats because you are not what they tried to make you, you are human, you are my child"
"It doesn't matter what happened in the past, what they made you do and what they tried to turn you into. You are not that person anymore, I see it, your sister see's it, Declan see's it. he could see what i can see, that you are worth helping, that you are worth saving. Its time you started to see it too Sweetheart"
"I can never imagine what you have been through and i wont even try to say i can understand everything but i do know this. You are afraid, we are all afraid of the same thing, to Live. Its so easy to die, so easy to hide in a bottle or a pill, to just lose control to a needle and pretend that anything that happened was out of our control, but you are stronger than that, stronger than they made you"
"But are you strong enough to do the scariest thing of all and live Vania? to let people in who care about you? to trust people with your heart again the way you are doing right now with me? to risk being hurt for a chance to be truly alive again?"
Reaching out gently, Cross placed the heart back into the void in her chest, he wasn't sure exactly where it was suppose to go but he had a feeling she would be able to sort that out herself when it was back where it belonged. Afterwards he stepped forward and gave the girl a big hug, a long hug without words, just the two of them alone on the rooftop before he stepped back again and held out his hand, the one covered in his childs blood and waited
"Your family loves you Vania, Snowlily loves you, I love you. Come back to us and Live"
