Zolan & Esmeria
Walking down the steps of the inn and once more wearing his alien combat armor, Zolan Tymerian arrived in the On Your Shield's common room and noted not for the first time that the Door's new light system was signaling an over-capacity and reminding the strange artificer that due to the rise in the artifact's popularity, he ought to be considering some alternative adventuring opportunities lest he would be made to recuperate without seeing any action for much longer. But no need to be dramatic. This town thrives on adventure. Or so I have heard.
Without less fanfare than during their first emergence from their private room, Zolan turned back to the stairs and admired as his better half Esmeria fluently descended the steps, her quiet grace almost ghostly in its presence as both her flowing walk and the fluttering of her garb were utterly silent whenever she moved. Yet in the noisy common room at least it was not an easy thing to notice how unnaturally quiet she was, at least not from afar.
Knowing that it was impossible to hug or hold his beloved at the time, Zolan's mask minutely changed expressions into the semblance of a faint smile, and he gave an exaggerated bow to Esmeria when she finally had caught up with him at the bottom of the staircase. She smiled beatifically at Zolan's theatrical demeanor, yet there was a love in her gaze that was unmistakable to those who watched this inane spectacle. Satisfied about their entrance, the amnesiac enforcer turned back on his heels and once more scanned the current scenery, spotting a man with an improvised conscription stand who seemed to be looking in his direction as he had nothing better to do while sitting there at his table. "That could be something. Let's check it out, love."
Together the uneven pair of masked soldier and eye-catching dancer proceeded over to the man at the table, and there Zolan leaned with both hands onto the wood, his white mask already back to an inexpressive, anonymizing facade. "Hullo conscriptor! I know not what a magic-con is, but once upon a time, I was an expert at matters of security. And now that I no longer have the experience, I seem to properly fulfill all your requirements too. Splendid! Where can I sign? The name is Zolan, and my partner here is the unfathomable Esmeria!"

Class abilities: At 1st level, you've learned how to invest a spark of magic into mundane objects. To use this ability, you must have thieves' tools or artisan's tools in hand. You then touch a Tiny nonmagical object as an action and give it one of the following magical properties of your choice: The object sheds bright light in a 5-foot radius and dim light for an additional 5 feet. Whenever tapped by a creature, the object emits a recorded message that can be heard up to 10 feet away. You utter the message when you bestow this property on the object, and the recording can be no more than 6 seconds long. The object continuously emits your choice of an odor or a nonverbal sound (wind, waves, chirping, or the like). The chosen phenomenon is perceivable up to 10 feet away. A static visual effect appears on one of the object's surfaces. This effect can be a picture, up to 25 words of text, lines and shapes, or a mixture of these elements, as you like. The chosen property lasts indefinitely. As an action, you can touch the object and end the property early. You can bestow magic on multiple objects, touching one object each time you use this feature, though a single object can only bear one property at a time. The maximum number of objects you can affect with this feature at one time is equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of one object). If you try to exceed your maximum, the oldest property immediately ends, and then the new property applies. Magical Tinkering | You produce your artificer spell effects through your tools. You must have a spellcasting focus - specifically thieves' tools or some kind of artisan's tool - in hand when you cast any spell with this Spellcasting feature (meaning the spell has an "M" component when you cast it). You must be proficient with the tool to use it in this way. See the equipment chapter in the Player's Handbook for descriptions of these tools. After you gain the Infuse Item feature at 2nd level, you can also use any item bearing one of your infusions as a spellcasting focus. Tools Required
Feats & Background: Legal Authority: You have the authority to enforce the laws of Xyco, and that status inspires a certain amount of respect and even fear in the populace. People mind their manners in your presence and avoid drawing your attention: they assume you have the right to be wherever you are. Demonstrating your security clearance gets you an audience with anyone you want to talk to (though it might cause more problems than it solves when you're dealing with incorrigible lawbreakers). If you abuse this privilege, though, you can get in serious trouble with your superiors and even be stripped of your position.Security Protocols | You can cast Silent Image at will, without expending a spell slot or material components.
