Welcome accepted. I'm still in the process of getting all the threads together. Campaign and character creation rules will be posted shortly. All character creation rolls will be done here. Once your characters are finished, post your original application from the advertisement (name, character info) and a link to your character sheet in a post in this thread.

Welcome aboard.

Awesome, I look forward to it. Most likely I won't be able to start much character work until Monday. I think I mentioned it in my app, but in general Sundays are no-computer days for me. We try to make them family days.

No problem. We probably won't get rolling for a few more days at least, and that will only be the introduction. For that, sheets most likely won't be needed. It'll be mostly roleplay to start.

I did just post the character creation rules in the Commandments thread though.

Well, my sheet's almost done - primarily because I've been building the sheet for a few days already "just in case". Glad to be a part of the team!

Wow, what a great looking group you have assembled here, I truly look forward to being a part of this. As to my sheet, I'll be getting to that shortly!

One question I had: would it be possible to move a point or two from one score to another, in order to achieve a penalty in that ability score? I'm aiming for a 9 Charisma, but with the current method of rolling that would be mathematically impossible for a gnome.

If he is going by the Pathfinders SRD, then maybe ...

After all the points are spent, apply any racial modifiers the character might have.
If we can shift points, I would sure like to be able to as well.

Oh man, I did a test roll in my other game thread, and I got ridiculously good stats, so I decided to opt for the roll instead of the buy. I do the roll here, and *flop*....

Same here, I previewed them first, much, much better, but I can work with these. Not the stats I needed for how I wanted to play her, but whats life without having to adapt to change?

Hmm. The dice don't seem to be on our side so far. So I think I'll maintain Arden's calculating nature, and use Point Buy. That will at least give me an 18 somewhere.

Question: Can a crossbow benefit from being made of Adamantine? i.e. does a weapon's special material pass its material effects on to its ammunition for purposes of bypassing damage reduction? I could see the argument for an adamantine weapon being powerful enough that its bolts could pass through stone, but silver I'm not so sure of; and a crossbow is really the only weapon I can think of that launches ammunition and is still made of enough metal to be considered viable.

I'll allow a max of 2 points to be moved. 2 point buy points, not 2 ability points (i.e. reducing moving 2 points from a 12 to increase a 14, would net you a result of 15)

On the rolls thus far... the dice have not gone your way. Instead of being unmerciful, I'll allow you all to reroll all 1s and 2s in your ability rolls. You can re-roll as much as you need to get something other than a 1 or a 2.

Everyone may take advantage of both of these changes.

It's tremendously tempting. I've got my Point-Buy array set up, and everything looks great except that I've left myself with a Strength score of 9, and a good roll might offset that.

On the other hand, I don't want to risk losing the scores I've got.

On the other hand, with the exception of Dexterity, none of my scores were higher than 14 in point-buy, which equates to a 6 on the d10 roll. Which is still higher than average. But if need be, I wouldn't mind losing a few points off wisdom or constitution. So really it comes down to that 17 in Dexterity. The unfortunate thing is that I can't shore up any weaknesses with magic items; whatever I end up with is pretty much what I've got.

And it also seems kind of silly, given that the lowest I'll be able to roll is an 11, which means a 13 Charisma, which is a whopping four points higher than what I'm going for. Although I suppose I could just fidget that number down to a 9.

Screw it - let's do this!
