AT THE DOCKS IN NIIAS
The party gathers on the docks to prepare for the voyage to Port Steam on Narbakka Island. Somewhere there, could be Thamuz's old ship, The StarWhisperer, as well as the man known only as Roland, who left Shandar on The Dolphin to sink (only Thamuz and those that read 'the note' found on the sinking vessel know of him). The party begins to search the docks for a sturdy boat to take you to your destination, about a five day journey south-west. Nerra searches for the The Crimson Mermaid. She finds the ship that brought her there, but her mother is uninterested in going to Narbakka at the time. She can not spare any of her crew either. But she pats her daughter's shoulder and digs a pouch out of her pocket. She gives Nerra 1,000 gold coins to help purchase a small ship. Thamuz struts about the dock. He seeks out the less favorable visitors (mostly pirates) of the city. He asks about available ships and able bodied sailors. Alias follows him, silently. He watches both for trouble and opportunity. As Thamuz talks to a few merchants packing up a ship with supplies, Alias notices a few crates of to the side, unattended. While the merchants tell Thamuz that they aren't headed to Narbakka and that they have no interest in pirate captains nor adventurers, Alias may have an opportunity to swipe a crate (the boxes are too big to grab more than one and not be noticed.) There seems to be no one looking. Jason Hale seeks out more honest help. He goes to the boat shop and inquires about boats. The man selling boats says his cheapest schooner is 1,500 gold. The only boat Jason, himself, could afford is a rowboat with a slow leak. Jason asks about dependable and honest crew hands and the man laughs at him. Cadrianna stands in the shadows outside a tavern, The Rusty Eel, that Draim has entered. The dwarf is inquiring about boats and able bodied sailors. He exits from the tavern and approaches the sorceress. He has found someone willing to sail with them. He says 'the woman' doesn't look a sailor, but she's big and strong looking, and the only decent seeming individual at the tavern. William watches his dad try to barter for a ship, Looks like a piece of dung. the boy gives Alias a look. Alias agrees. Thamuz is almost comical in his approach to finding a ship. He seems almost desperate; he must really want to get that old ship of his back. The pirate Thamuz is speaking with shoos him off his ship. This time it's William that steels something. Somebody left something on a crate. Must not want it, the boy smiles as he hands Alias a pistol. Eventually, you all gather round and discuss what you've found. Draim and Cadrianna show up with a tall woman with tan skin, brown eyes, and dark brown hair. She has a wild look to her, but she looks able-bodied and fairly intelligent. This woman is Nanaki, a barbarian from north of here. Last edited by Demandred69; Feb 18th, 2011 at 01:50 PM. |

"Ahlroit," Says Thamuz, already half done with one of his signature Koffin Nail smokes and a bit disgruntled. "Tell me ye 'ad betta luck'n Oi did. 'Cuz a' this point, i' looks loik weah gunna 'ave te pony-up an' buy a ship. We kin sell it once we git me ship back, but as fer now, Oi think we may need it." Thamuz looks to the newcomer, giving her a once-over. "Yer a bahbarian from tha north, eh? Ye look moah Bruun then northern. Nanaki, was it?" He takes a long drag from his Koffin Nail. "Ahm Captain Thamuz Iscariot, an these people ah moi crew. The young'n's moi son, William, Oi trust ye know Draim an' Cadrianna, moi Bosun. The Holy Roller theah is Jason Hale, Inquisitor of the Red Hand. The silent one to moi left is Alias, my 'Requisition Expert'. The Ka'shan with tha glaive is moi medic, Nerra. The little girl there is Shandar. Each of them 'as somethin' te offa. If'n yer gonna be a part a moi crew, Oi wanna know what ye kin do."

Nanaki stands a good two feet taller than Draim and a half-foot taller than Cadrianna. She has numerous tattoos on her face and trailing down her neck. Over her right shoulder you see the hilt to a large sword that she carries across her back and a long bow. She wears chainmail armor that looks like she had to almost stuff herself into. She looks as strong as some of the others here. She looks around at everyone gathered, smiles, and says "Hey" as a form of greeting. She nods to Captain Thamuz, "I use these weapons." Here is waves her her arsenal. "I stay standing on deck, but I swim too and climb ropes. I read the sky and survive on my own. I speak Orc and goblin."

Nanaki, knowing she wouldn't be able to help with a ship, she looks around at all the people that are walking around them and keeping busy at the docks. She especially looks out for any half-orcs.

"Mother doesn't want to go to Narbakka Island, so she can't take us. She also can't spare anyone to help us. However, she did give me some funds towards buying a vessel of our own." Her report given, Nerra gives the newcomer a once over. To her, the woman looks like she could take a hit and keep fighting. "As the Captain said, I'm the shipboard doctor. If you get terribly injured find me and I'll see what I can do about patching you up. Thamuz may be the captain, but even he's to follow my orders in whatever cabin of whatever ship we end up getting that I turn into the infirmary."

I nod to the new woman. I tip my hat when Thamuz introduces me, almost Blanching at the use of the term Inquisitor, I hate it when people introduce me as such. It's why we have normal clergy titles, like "Reverand" that we use. Because when people hear the word "inquisitor" they tend to get suspicious and a bit afraid.
"I found a scooner for sale for 1,500 gold" I say calmly "I think we shouldn't have too much problem Acquireing this ship, and the size should be about right for our needs, what do you think Captain?"

Nanaki returns Jason's nod with a smile and a completely innocent look. She evidently has nothing to hide or ignorant of what an Inquisitor is.

"Oi guess if we 'ave te buy it, we 'ave te buy it." Thamuz says, finishing his Koffin Nail. "Now, 'ow ah we gonna do this? Oi'd loik te 'spect it meself befoah we buy it, but as fer gold, who's got what? Oi'd ratha not spend me own onnit 'cause tha Starwhisperer is gunna need repaihs."

"I can give 345 gold if needed." Nanaki says, placing her hand on her belt pouch ready to fish out the coin.

"Mother gave me 1000 gold. I'm willing to put up 100 to 200 of my own gold for the scooner. We just need to get moving if we're going to catch up with the prick that left Shandar to fend for herself." Nerra turned to Jason, a slightly appologetic look on her face. "I'm sorry if I offended you, but anyone who leaves a child to fend for herself on a slowly sinking ship is lower than dirt. I only hope that you'll allow me to help in punishing him."

"Allow you to help? Nera my friend, you may as far as I am concerned, as Shandar's Gaurdian have the right to his festering soul and its deliver it to the gods." I say with a smile. Then with a calm motion I lead my friends to the dealer who had the schooner in question. "I think our Captain should examine the Vessel first. He knows more about ships and will know if we are getting a fair price or if we should argue to shift the price down because of condition."

Thamuz allows Jason (OOC: Almost typed Abel.) to lead him to the ship, where he carefully looks the schooner over. He takes in every detail, every aspect of the ship. He then looks to the seller. "Ye really 'spect us te pay fifteen hunnerd gold fer this? Ahl give yeDiplomacy to Haggle result: 27! 800 right now. I's all i's really wurth."
