Shump stands up at a full eight feet tall and looks the Grippli in the eyes. "Ya forgot Shump puts up three fingers.option 4. I eat you and sleep well with a full belly." Shump pauses for a moment before continuing. "Ha ha! I am just kiddin lil guy. They keep me fed nuff round here." Shump laughs a little and stops abruptly. "But seriously, cross me and I will eat ya." He goes back to his bunk and lays down.

The Drow, still cross-legged by the cell door made no threatening movements as the guards brought in another prisoner. He was willing to bide his time and scheme for a long while before trying anything smart or cocky. However, when the Grippli was tossed into the cell, Veidren found himself agreeing fully with the human and stifled down a laugh at the size of the creature.

Then it climbed the wall... and the cieling. Veidren just stared and listened, utterly puzzling over what this creature was and wondered if it had any relation to those frog things he saw in the water. Once all of the talking was over, Shump stood up and was level with the ceiling-clung frog-man. A half ogre making mentions of eating things? Unheard of. Veidren mused in thought.

Then, when all else went quiet, Veidren realized the little frog man may have been serious about his options. Blinking a few times, the Drow made a scoffing sound through his lips. "Ppppft" He chuckled briefly.

His accent was thick as he spoke.

"From hence forth you shall be known as sammoko"

He put up a hand when he paused to ensure he would not be interrupted. His tone got a little more condescending.

"Sammoko, wael, what makes you think any of those are actually options right now?"

One of his white brows crawled up slowly in dangerous inquiry.

Well, if you really must know the grippli continued conversationally still attached to the ceiling, Prison narratives follow only a few conventions and are rarely deconstructed. which is why the options I present are the most likely. They are simply the most popular. Now if our narrative were to deviate from a normal path we might become critical darlings in literary circles or it could backfire terribly.

Chance stopped and scratched his head then switched languages

Anyway, our lives are intertwined narratives therefore we should endeavor to make them as exciting as possible. You know, in case of future publishing.

Shump stays in his bed and doesn't even bother rolling over to face the grippli. "I have no clue what that even means." Shump goes back to messing with a batch of moss on the wall next to his bunk that looks vaguely like a face. Shump whisper quietly to the moss. "I dunno Frank. That frog is crazy"

Well, I've been called many things more elaborate than that, most ending in colorful metaphors. I think my favorite had to be "croaker" since it was a double reference to my anuran body and to the insulter's belief that I would die, or croak as it were, very soon. He raises what would be an eyebrow and smiles slightlyThere was one fellow that called me a "pollywog rapist" but he was drunk and shortly afterwards caught fire....

If you want to call me frog fool by all means do so. I like the idea of playing the jester to the world. But if you want to call me something else then allow me to properly introduce myself.
Chance stands up from his seated position on the ceiling and bows theatrically, I am Chance "Sticky Fingers" Fen and I am honored to make your acquaintance.

Veidren stared for a long moment at the frogman who now introduced himself. Not only did the little fool know the Drow language, he was decently spoken. Even so, Veidren still thought him a fool and interjected smoothly after Chance had finished speaking.

"I did not call you Sammoko Wael. I called you Sammoko and described you as a wael."

Veidren smirked from where he sat.

"Afterall, it was not a stretch to reach that conclusion."

The drow then stood up from his sitting position in one motion and brushed off his rear, arms crossing absently following.

"Well, Sammoko, you may address me as The accent became thick as he spoke the name and the R was rolled smoothlyVeidren. I would say it is an honor to make your acquaintance but this remains to be seen."

The drow leaned against the cold bars once again, arms crossed and red eyes gleaming in what little light there was.

Chance squats back down on the ceiling. I will make every effort to make it an honor Veidrrrrrrrrrrren he said rolling the r into an r avalanche. He looked at each of the other inmates with his large, red, eyes, licking them in contemplation.

Right then, he said once his tongue re-entered his mouth, Until the narrative arrives we may be here a while so why not pass the time by sharing our own narratives? Why we're here in this pit and so forth. He smiled, showing his narrow row of palatal teeth, Of course if nobody wants to start I'd be happy to but it's ungentlemanly to not give you the opportunity if you want it.

Samus. The human said, not looking at the frog. We was very well built, and his blonde hair had grown wildly during his four month boat ride to the island. A beard spotted his face, the thinness showing his young age. His eyes seemed grey and empty. He had removed his armor and was now wearing nothing but tattered leggings. I'm here for hating chains. He smirked and laid back on his bed. Irony.

The sound of numerous footsteps slowly cuts into your conversation, accompanied by the clinging sound of metal rattling against metal. Both sounds grow louder, until a silhouette appears in front of your cell. Those of you with low-light vision or better can see that it is a guardsman, and a veteran one at that. He holds a longsword in his hand, resting it calmly on his armored shoulder.

"Out," he says simply. "One at a time." Behind him are several more guardsmen. One of them approaches the cage door, and opens it.

Veidren's eye twitched a little at the rolling Rs and he ran his hand over his once-bald head with a sigh. The white hair became quite the tuff in the last four months and he had a head of short hair now. The drow was surprised when the human spoke up to share his story, no matter how short it was.

The drow found his muse again and let out a velvety chuckle. As soon as he was to speak, however, the sound of approaching footsteps and the rattle of metal cut him off and the drow pushed himself off of the cold bars, never turning his back on Chance but keeping his back to the wall and watching as the guardsmen approached.

The longsword glinted a little light which shone as a searing flash to light sensitive eyes. Veidren squinted slightly and eyed the guards as they spoke. They did not sound amused. Veidren then gestured to the frog on the ceiling.

"Dos ust, Sammoko."

Chance hopped down from the ceiling landing on his feet with quiet plop on the stone floor. He walked over to Samus and looked into the young man's tired face. I know you're leaving out much because I suspect that it is painful to talk about. Your story has been hard he said softly, but I suspect that you're going to get the chance to-

And there they were again, those thuggish guardsmen, making more demands. Large men with some small power are always dangerous, always quick to punish, often cruel, often corruptible. Of course such men also make perfect foils for a hero's dashing tale if the hero plays his cards right. Best now to follow their commands.

Veidren, now there was a character, he said in response to the sour drowAsanque He says cheerily offering a hand to SamusWell shall we, I wouldn't want to keep these gentlemen waiting.

As you exit the cell, one by one, your captor's faces come into sharp illumination - and none of them look particularly familiar. The men cuff your hands roughly behind your backs, and each guard grabs one of you by the scruff of the neck. The man with the drawn weapon leads the group along like a pied piper, and begins to escort you away from your new home - though to where is a mystery as of yet.

"I'm almost sad that you're cooperatin'," he says. He pronounces it COOP. "It means I don't get to beat any sense into you. You remain ignorant little *****."

One of the guards following you from behind lets out an irritating haw haw.

Veidren stayed silent for, despite all of his bite and snark, was quite savvy to what it was like to be tortured. Even if these humans could not torture him nearly as cruelly as the Ilythirii or the Deurgar, it was still bad enough to wish it avoided. The illumination, though, was more Veidren's concern and the drow squinted, being blinded temporarily. Wael, you will be the first on my list. Veidren thought it in silent contempt.

I've got half a mind to drive my knee into his skull. Samus whispered to Chance, instantly regretting his words. That's not you Samus! Don't speak like these fools! He continued to walk with the others, wondering where they might be headed.

Be careful Samus, Chance whispers back with a smile as he makes his way out, His head looks pretty hard, you wouldn't want to break anything...
