G'day everyone! I thought I'd start us off with a brief introduction to your humble GM.
I'm an Aussie gal who made a wrong left turn somewhere and wound up in the (not-so-snowy) Toronto region of Canada. I've been GMing for a number of years now, purely because none of my other friends ever want to give it a try. I love intriguing character interactions and weaving seamless stories with my players. I'm also an avid homebrewer, but I'm trying not to unleash that chaos on you all... for now. I hope we can create a great game here! I have a few things to ask, first of all. 1. Would you all like private threads, rather than discussing your characters in the OOC thread? It could reduce clutter and allows for easier discussion of more private questions. 2. What do you think of the Players Roll All The Dice option in Unearthed Arcana? In particular, making Fort/Ref/Will be static numbers the attacker rolls against, rather than the defenders making a save against. The benefit to this is that you get to roll more, and you get to know that it's your good (or horrible) rolling that is making you succeed (or fail). It's also faster, because I don't have to say "make a Ref save", I simply say, "you take full damage from the fireball". On the other hand, this also takes some power out of your hands to save against certain effects, unless we go the whole way--you make attacks against static DCs, but you save against incoming attacks. I'd like some discussion on this possibility! 3. Do you have any questions or comments about the home rules already established? Anything you absolutely hate and would rather see removed? Any ideas for things I haven't thought about adding to it?

1. Sounds fine to me.
2. If you don't mind me mixing up number the first few rolls, sure. 3. Your druid alternative makes little sense to me, sense Domain Druids gain +1 spells/spell level, that is always filled with their domain. Unless there's a really sweet spell, I'd always have my domain memorized once and don't think I'd need the ability to trade a prepped slot for it, at least not as often as a Summon Nature's Ally swap. |

Good catch on the druid domain thing. I didn't even bother looking up the domain nature bond rules exactly because I've never had a druid that wanted it... Nonetheless, I think it can remain an option, it's not a requirement after all. I could easily see a druid with no desire to have anything to do with summoning animals wanting to cast their domain spells often. It's probably less powerful, but if it suits flavour... *shrug*

Hello every one! I am glad to be here and thank ange for giving me a chance to prove myself in my first ever play by play posting, so please bare with me if I ask questions that may seem like stuff any vets would know hehe
![]() 1.I don't mind either way but it would be cool to talk in the occ thread to get to know my fellow players! 2.I don't mind these rules it will take a little to get used to but I really don't care if you use them or not ![]() 3.Nothing really to comment but I do like a lot of these changes! |

Hi everyone! I'm super honored to be here playing with you guys. I'm brand new to the Pathfinder system so any advice you all have for my character construction is very, very much appreciated.
1. I'm cool either way too. 2. Don't really care, it sounds like it would speed up the game though. 3. Nothing on there affects my class :P |

This is what I have for my character sheet so far. Please give me suggestions for improvements or tell me if I've done something wrong.

Do we use the Dice Rolling thread to roll up ability scores?

Hey guys! Its nice to meet you all, and I'm looking forward to the game. I'll be working slowly over the next two days or so on my charsheet. There is a fifteen page term paper that has my attention today. My apologies for that.
1. I welcome private threads. 2. I'd like to try to see how it plays out in PbP. I'm relatively new to tabletop gaming. 3. I like the profession skill rules, since it greatly clarifies how it would work out in the game. |

Wolfs: If you check out the characters thread, it says that we're generating scores via 20 point buy. Here's the rules about point buy. If you want a simple calculator rather than figuring out a table, I can recommend this site. Just plug in your scores and the bottom will tell you what your points add up to.
LaydeeD: Eww, term papers. Good luck on that one. I'm a university student myself, so I guess it's fair to warn the group now that there may be periods where posting slows down a little (read: midterms and final exams). uga: Your stat array looks good to me. Pretty typical archer ranger. You won't have a problem with them. I'm guessing you'll pick up some studded leather and a longbow? I'll go make those private threads now. We can still use the OOC chat for things of course! ![]() I'll wait to see what the others think of the "static saves" options. As an FYI, even with this option, I'll still ask you to save against things like "Oh no, you fell down the cliff! Make a Reflex save to catch yourself!" because I can't really comprehend how the cliff would attack your Reflex defense... ![]()

Yikes LaydeeD, I always hate term papers. Luckily, being a science major, I don't really ever have too many of them.

Linguistics/Japanese major here. I also technically study Biology but I'm on the verge of dropping out of it as I can't stand it anymore. Ughh. Hah. Okay, the private threads are up, but you can discuss things here in general OOC if you want some group-think on an issue

Biology major, changing to Chemistry though. I like Chem more...there's more math in it

That's what I can't handle, the math. I tried biochem and bioinformatics and just... flopped. Ugh. I'll stick to being endlessly fascinated by language methinks.
