Probably not a horribly idea. Kinda tiptoe back out and grab help, and some rope.

Speaking of Aid Another, my Wild Empathy only works on Aquatic types, but I do have +4 on handle animal. That'd get me a +0, then you could aid me to get a +2. Problem is, we're probably asking the animal to do a task it does not know, so the DC would be a push check of 25.

The solifugid is actually a vermin, which means that technically speaking it shouldn't be affected by Handle Animal at all. My take on it is that it's stupid to not allow vermin to be affected because how else could you have cool things like a drow riding a giant spider?
![]() I guess I should add a house rule - something around the lines of, vermin are considered animals with an Intelligence score of 1 for the purposes of Handle Animal and Wild Empathy checks. Possibly also various animal specific druid spells as well. (I always thought that it made no sense that they were not animals; a vermin subtype would make more sense...) But you're right, it definitely doesn't know any tricks, so the DC is quite high. Everyone working together might be able to manage something though.

You know, we might could lure it back into its cage. I have to do this OOC, because, you know, druid: Kill a parrot or whatever, lay it down in the cage and let let it go for that for food. Alternatively, try to get it to chase my SNA dog or something into the cage then slam to door gate closed. Problem with that is SNA is round/level.

I'd allow you to use a summon nature's ally spell for that purpose, or anything similar. Out of combat, the specifics of time are much less relevant, and if you're only doing one single simple task (move into the cage, for example), I would allow it for sure, even with the 1 round duration.

Actually, I might have the solution to our problem. The Mite has Handle Vermin. Maybe with a couple assists from us, it could convince it to enter its cage?
The other alternative is maybe a stirge: tiny might be able to lure in, but slip out the bars. Actually, how far apart are the bars in the cage for the sulfghud? |

We should tie a rope the cage door to pull and slam it shut.

So what's the plan, guys?
@aivanther: Just noticed the question on the size between the bars. A stirge or other tiny animal could certainly slip through them, no worries.

Now that we got the group lets go take care of that thing in the Cargo hold! << My suggestion :P

I asked the question to consider the mite. If the mite doesn't work with handle vermin check, it wouldn't be able to lure it into the cage and slip out the bars as a mite is small.
Luring it with a stirge it is. |

I'm thinking we tie a rope to cage door, summon the stirge to attract the spider, and when it goes in, we can pull on the rope to shut the cage door.

It's worth a shot!
You can climb down into the back side of the hold from the hole near the mast, there's a ladder heading down there. If you Stealth down there you should be able to sneak around and tie the rope to the cage door without attracting its attention. Closing the cage will be easy then, although you might need to hurry and properly lock it up somehow (whatever lock was on the cage was broken when the rhagodessa busted out). Not really sure if any sort of check would be applicable with the lure; let's just see how well you roleplay it out. ![]() Creative posts will get you a success!

We got lots of rope. Not exactly ideal, but i'd think it'd hold the cage for a bit.

Okay, let me try to sneak down there to tie the rope, since my stealth is high (+8)
