World of Psemeria
They raged back and forth for centuries, no colour gaining dominance over the other. The blues, greens, bronzes, golds and all the wide spectrum of dragons fought tooth and nail over landscapes that forever have remained ravished since their passing. No-one could see the end of the battle, no-one knew of a way to solve the problem. Until the 5 leaders of the chromatics-ancient dragons from eons past met in secret. They knew their races were dying out, they could see the battles drawing heavier casualties. It was time to put a stop to it for good. Aelitrax, leader of the Blue dragons proposed a merger, a covenant between the chromatics to drive out the metallics and destroy any trace of their existence for good. This was known as the Chromatic Concordant. And thus, the Metallic dragons could not withstand the combined force of the full chromatics, being naturally averse to banding together themselves, they were easily picked off. And the world knew peace for some time, at least a kind of peace where each of the chromatic colours went their separate ways and formed their civilizations far away from the others. That was the year 0 CDE (Chromatic Dragon Era), and it was the last time a gathering of the Chromatics had been seen in this world. The lesser races, all the varied species of humans, elves, and other, less common races were greatly worried by the events had differing opinions on their best course of events. They splintered into 2 groups, the humans, dwarfs, elves, halflings, gnomes, half-elves and half-orcs all advocated for submission. They had the largest civilizations, the most people and the greatest stake should the dragons turn on them. The other races, the catfolk of the north, the aasimar, the vishkanya and all the collective races left over, thought they could gain some greater dominance, some greater stake in the world should they topple the dragon's reign. And so they rose up. In a rebellion that lasted 10 years, the lesser races waged war with the dragons for control, but ultimately proved futile. As a consequence, the dragons attempted to eradicate those who actively hated them. As a reward to those races who advocated for peace, they took under their wing the greatest warriors produced by those races and trained them to be champions. The other races have kill on sight notices, and great rewards from the dragonkin to whoever can bring them a head of an outcast race. They still exist, the Tiefling and the Undines, but they can and will in no way be part of the dragon's protective collective. It is now the year 1354 CDE, and the dragons control is slipping. For whatever reason, they feel their powers growing weaker, and have met in a great conclave to discuss the cause for this. Not since the Great War had they felt like this, and it troubled them greatly. They resolved thus: That their champions would go out into the world, together, as one group to find this evil that had been let back into the world and quash it before it became too strong. What these champions do afterwards is entirely up to them, although many of the elder dragons have their own motives... Last edited by pianoman90; Mar 1st, 2013 at 09:52 PM. |

Black Dragon: Lawful Evil
Lording over the darkest swamps and marshes, black dragons are the undisputed masters of their domain, ruling through cruelty and intimidation. Those who dwell within a black dragon's reach live in fear. Black dragons tend to make their lairs in remote parts of the swamp, preferably in caves at the bottom of dark and fetid pools. Inside, they pile up their filthy treasure and sleep amid the roots and muck. Black dragons prefer their food a bit rotten and will often allow a meal to sit in a pool for days before consuming it. Black dragons prefer treasures that do not rot or decay, making their hoard, full of coins, gemstones, jewelry, and other objects made from stone or metal. The black dragons reside over the great north-western part of the world. Ulfang was a powerful elder dragon in the days of the Chromatic-Metallic war, and led numerous victories for his kind. This did not stop him from being defeated and killed at the battle of Balelt. Nevertheless, his bastion still stands, and marks the central point of the Black's territory. It extends down to Ilantre, the city of the ghosts, far across to the Maerda Forest and everything in between. Their lands are typically covered in swampland, marshes and bogs, and the blacks rule directly over 2 major cities-Gaford, the city of thieves, and Cahryst, a major port to the Empyrean sea. They control their area with an iron fist, quickly eliminating anything threats they percieve, but rewarding their most devoted followers well. Last edited by pianoman90; Mar 4th, 2013 at 08:28 PM. |

Blue Dragon: Lawful Neutral
Blue dragons are consummate schemers and obsessively orderly. In combat, blue dragons prefer to surprise foes if possible, and are not above retreating if the odds turn against them. They prefer to lair near those that they control, sometimes even within the confines of a city. The Blues control a vast slab towards the eastern edge of the map. The Maha waste marks the western edge, and the Bolarbrygg the eastern edge. Throughout the world, the City of Illusions in the blue's area has become the centre of learning and teaching. Betwsy forest as a result has become a magical forest, filled with illusions, and often cannot be mapped through. Most who try to traverse this forest never return, or waste days and weeks inside. Their territory also covers the monastery of chains-a fortress that has remained completely untouched by any dragon rule whatsoever. While it lies in the Blue dragon's territory, no blue has ever gone near. It is an enigma as to why it has remained so, and the monks that reside there have become stuff of legend for a great majority of the populace. Last edited by pianoman90; Mar 4th, 2013 at 07:58 PM. |

Green Dragon: True Neutral
Green dragons dwell in the ancient forests of the world, prowling under towering canopies in search of prey. Of all the chromatic dragons, green dragons are perhaps the easiest to deal with diplomatically. The Greens reside next to the Blacks, in the western region of the world. From the Maerda forest in the west, to the Whispering wood in the east, their domain is full of great forests and vales. There are no major cities left in the Green's realm, of note there is only the one to speak of. Wydale, city of spells is overstated in the extreme. While the Blue's domain contains the greatest city of learning in the world, the Green's city of spells can hardly be compared to. This was the site of one of the largest rebellious battles as the powerful mages gathered to prepare their spells. When the dragons descended however, all hell broke loose and spells went flying every which way. The result of this was a city very much in ruins, all the mages destroyed, and thousands of years of learning destroyed. People still live there, but since the terrible destruction, they have only made make-shift shelters, and have never pursued magical interests in that place. Red Dragon: Chaotic Netural
Few creatures are more cruel and fearsome than the mighty red dragon. King of the chromatics, this terrible beast brings ruin and death to the lands that fall under its shadow. The Reds control the Easternmost edge of the realm. From Bolarbrygg's twin town in the north (Habrygg) to the tomb of horrors the Reds patrol with flagrant destructive force. They were the most vile and dangerous chromatic dragon throughout both the Dragon wars and then the rebellion from the people. Any threats to their existence was dealt with with extreme prejudice and devastation. They also control the coveted Dragon's vale-thought to be the birthplace of the first dragon. It is from there that the secret meeting was arranged, and now the meeting is once again held there. The mountains in the Red's realm are where they tend to reside-steering clear of any of the major cities within their realm. Last edited by pianoman90; Mar 4th, 2013 at 07:58 PM. |

White Dragon: Neutral Good
Although most consider it to be the weakest and most feral of the chromatic dragons, the white dragon makes up for its lack of cunning with sheer ferocity. White dragons dwell on remote, frozen mountaintops and in arctic lowlands, making their home in glittering caves full of ice and snow. They prefer their meals completely frozen. The White dragons are definitely considered to be the weakest of the chromatics, and have thus been allotted the smallest area of land to govern. In total size however, it is comparable to most of the others, which is how the Whites themselves view it. From a viewpoint of an outsider, their realm consists of mostly water. The Empyrean sea belongs to them, and the land on the northern and eastern edge is also theirs. Sandwiched between the Blacks and the Greens, the Whites nevertheless control the most important seaport area in the world, as well as a vast majority of the other great water bodies.
