Eandhyrst, city of Illusion (courtesy of CityGen)
A great centre of learning, Eandhyrst has become a wealthy city since the Blues assumed control. Without Eandhyrst, much of what was lost in the City of Spells desecration would have remained lost to time. In the early days, it was easy for adventurers to be sent to the city to retrieve what they could from the ruined city. No-one dared go near it unless prompted by a large sum, and the Blues had great access to that kind of prompting. Scholars and mages alike descend on the city in search of rare tidbits of information, ancient spells and mysteries beyond belief. As such, the Blue dragons have gained much respect and power over their domain-much more so than many of the other chromatics. This has led to jealousy from the other chromatics, and more than once the Blues and the city guards have had to deal with covert threats to the city. So far they have maintained great control and security within the city and it continues to prosper and grow. Last edited by pianoman90; Mar 2nd, 2013 at 05:45 PM. |

Gaford, city of Thieves (courtesy of CityGen)
Sitting within the realm of the Blacks, Gaford epitomizes decadence and corruption. The city, while technically being ruled by the Blacks, has in fact retained a great deal of freedom from them as a result of their council of thieves. Far from seeing this as a problem, the Blacks have let the city fester under the council's rule as they control the city as they wish. The sprawling city has far exceeded what was once the confines of the wall, and the state of decay in some parts are appalling. Wandering through the town is like descending into a rat-filled sewer with every corner spewing mud and other waste out onto the streets. Those that live there are the well used to this style of living however, and hardly complain. Not that anyone would speak ill of the council, as they will come down hard on those who do. In an extremely stark contrast, the centre of the city radiates beauty, richness and decadence. Centred around the port, this area of an otherwise sewrage-ridden city shows the spoils of being in favour with the council. The finest merchants, most gaudy materials and trinkets are all on display in the marketplace (but of course for an enormous amount of money). Sucking up to the council has its benefits, and those who conduct their trade there do so in full knowledge that if anyone tries to steal, or damage any of their wares, the council will be swift to act. Security, promise of great returns and favour with the council attract many merchants to brave the journey either by boat or through the city itself to the marketplace to sell their wares. Monastery of Chains
The Monastery of Chains is quite the enigma. The only way to enter is by becoming a monk, renouncing your former life, and swearing an oath to share no secrets, or tell anyone of what you saw inside the walls. Even the dragons have not been able to penetrate their walls, through brute force, tricks of the mind or other means. It was said a young green dragon, upon hearing of the monks in the monastery, set himself to enter at any cost. Eventually he saw the only way to get in was to become a monk, and so he did just that. He entered, renounced his former life, and said the words. Nothing was heard from him for 10 years. When he finally emerged, there was an expectant air to all those around him. But of course he never divulged any of the secrets, nor spoke of anything he witnessed inside. Many believed he had been brainwashed by some powerful magics inside, the same magics that prevented anything to get in by force, but whatever the reason, this green dragon took those secrets to his grave. Ruined City of Spells
The city's ancient history with the rebellion against the chromatics is well known. What is not so well known is the stories behind it. In eras past, this city was the greatest of all the Psemerian cities. Its wealth, proud history and traditions of attaining glory were well known. This city was the hub for any and all adventurers to come and try their luck in the arena of magics-a marvellous place where combatants could be seen to fight most anything the mages could imagine up. The library at Wydale (a small sector of the city) was famed for its knowledge and wisdom. For centuries this was the grandest city in the world, even untouched by the great Dragon wars. But for the rebellion, it would have stayed this way. From the viewpoint of the city, its biggest regret was being placed inside the Green's control. The council of mages who governed the city previously, could forsee what they city would become under the Green's influence and so decided to rise. It proved to be their undoing of course, and now the city is a veritable shell of its former self. The arena lies in ruins, the trade quarters, desecrated. The library was ransacked (mostly by those adventurers hired from Eandhyrst to recover valuable documents) and the city destroyed. Few now live within the ravaged walls of the city. Those that do are constantly on edge, never staying in one spot for long, for rumours abound as to what else might have taken up residence since the sacking of the city so long ago... Cahyrst, Last city of Eliorthon
Cahyrst, the great trade centre of the modern world. With the Empyrean sea tightly under the control of the Whites, Cahyrst has risen in power as a trading port to the rest of the world. Nestled next to a sea to call its own, it sends fleets of ships out to dock all around the Empyrean sea and beyond, carefully guided and guarded by the Whites. The city as a result has grown incredibly rich, and items of immense worth can always be found within its walls. Rare and exotic spices, materials, cloths, weapons and armor can all be found inside, and the centre of the merchant world is always accepting of those who have large pockets. |
