The Genie goes first in this battle. For effect, I'll let your actions happen. If you are blinded by his first attack (a free action), I'll count it towards the second round. Genie goes first. DC 15 arcana to really see what kind of genie this is. As a free action he inhales and exhales a jet of water. It splashes against all of you, possibly blinding some of you Con-based Reflex save. DC 18. Those blinded will be blind for rounds 2 and 3. Everyone takes a whopping 1pt. of damage. He then, still holding his sword, picks up Cadriana and slams her on the ground, doing 14pts. of damage. The genie follows up with his sword and misses. Nerra's touch attack damages the genie. Cadriana (I assume backs up) and fires three times. All three shots miss, though she was very close twice. Linath rushes in and brings his mighty blade deep into the genie. Vlix swings his chopper at the genie but misses. Razor slowly gets up, well back down the street. There, Thamuz and William spot him and then notice the scuffle. Thamuz and William may roll init! Only ranged attacks will be granted them next round as they are running distance away. |

Nerra, blinded by the genie's attack, swung her blade in wide figure-eights. She did one of the only things she could. She healed herself.

Linath snarls at his condition. "Yeah I agree with you, this isn't good. I can't see anything, how about you Ebon Heart?" He nods. "Right I was afraid of that. Now you've raised my Ire and a mages wrath. Salamander Spirit of fire hear my call and lend me your breath." As he speaks the image of a fire spirit, a Salamander forms around him ghostly in aparenace it isn't in this plane but rather granting him it's arcane power from it's native plane. As he breaths in Sharply so does it. As he exhales so does it unleashing aFire Breath Spell, Reflex Save Half. DC 17. No attack roll so uneffected by blindness. torrent of fire and elven arcana. Using the sizzle he swings Ebon Heart Culling in the direction in his mind's eye that he feels the Genei should be in. His first stroke missing horribly but the back stroke connecting successfully.

In the next round of combat, the genie picks up and slams Linath to the ground, doing 22 damage. The genie downs a potion. All ranged attacks miss the genie this round. Linath attacks the genie, missing then hitting with the backswing. As an attack of opportunity, as Linath gets up to attack, the genie strikes Linath for 16 additional damage.

Note to self, always avoid genies.... Nerra kept swinging her blade from side-to-side. She had no intention of letting people get close to her without at least running the risk of getting hurt. As she did, she Summoning in two Hell Hounds.... Again....said, "To me O dogs of Hell."

The Genie summons forth a wind in which blades swirl about. The wind surrounds him. Thinking himself invincible in the summoned storm, he tries to slam and slash Linath. He misses both times and as well, Linath dances through the storm avoiding the bite of the swirling knives. Linath misses with his first swing, but hits with his second. As well, his fiery breath (gotta gargle...) hits the genie. Thamuz shoots the genie twice, doing moderate damage. William hits the genie with a vile. Nerra summons hellhounds, making the genie not all too happy.
The genie is now badly wounded and and floating next to Linath. You and your allies are too much for me. The one who summoned me will pay for my pains. He then vanishes, leaving your party victorious. You all head back to the ship, awaiting a fresh day and a meeting with The Demon Sword. |

"Thank you for coming to my aid. I only wish that you could have done more than arrive," Nerra says, smiling apologetically. She releases her hold on the power that brought forth the hounds, sending them back to the hell from whence they came as she re-sheathed her blade. Strolling nearer to Cadrianna and Linath, Nerra gives the lot a once over. "C'mon. Let's get you lot back to the ship. I'll patch you up once I know I won't have to worry about being attacked by random people."
"If ye're injured, head to the infirmary. I'll treat ye there in a few minutes. If ye're ta the point of dyin' here an' now, I'll patch ye up enough ta get there. Captain, I'd suggest findin' out what Cadrianna did ta piss of that genie's summoner. And why she did it."

Groaning in pain Linath heads onto the ship and goes strait to the infirmary knowing he took quite the beating in that brawl. He feels as if a few of his bones may be broken from the way he was slammed about. On the other hand they had won. That was something.

On board:
Thamuz gathers everyone for dinner and takes note that everyone has indeed returned to the ship and are ready to lift off. The ice mephit that powers the ship's frig is very sick and time is of the essence. But you know you must wait until sun up to meet the one said to be The Demon Sword. Cadriana gives the elixer she stole to the mephit with Nerra's careful gaze supervising. The mephit seems like new for what is but a few seconds then grows sickly again. It would seem the elixer was a fake. Now the mephit's chance of survival depends on how quickly you get him to an arcane specialist with proper cooling treatments or to Port Steam where ice is sold in mass, do to the harvesting of glacier ice (which is picked up by ships with similar coolers that come down from the north). Nerra notes how Thamuz allowed William's involvement with the dangerous genie and watches Shandar sitting at the dinner table reading. Would she allow a child or young teen to fight such a foe? Razer seems to have recovered with little more than a bump on the head and wounded pride. The big tigran is quiet as Vlix discribes how the heroes defeated the genie. When asked how he did, he shakes his head sadly, but is quick to bring up how the elf with the blazing blade kept afoot from such a foe. The next morning isn't quite upon you when the group that plans to meet with the Demon Sword is readied. The party members are both excited and nervous about this. It it the real Demon Sword? How can you tell? It will be no more than an hour and hopefully the ship will be ready to leave immediately. Ferrez goes about checking the rigging and crew assignments and the gnomish mechanic preps the ship's new crystal, which is used but serviceable. |

Nerra watched silently as Cadrianna fed her stolen goods to the memphit. Once she saw that he didn't get better, she shook her head and headed off to patch up Linath.
"Weapons belt and shirt off. You took a beatin' and it'll be easier for me to examine you without cloth in the way," she stated, gathering a few basic A long bandage and the items to treat cuts/scrapes.items from her Is it safe to assume that the infirmary was stocked with basic first-aid supplies? I'm talking some sort of topical antibiotic, bandages, things to fashion into slings/splints, and so on. If not, I'll sink a bit in for basic supplies like those.general supplies. Turning, she walked over and set her small armful on the little table next to the bunk Linath sat on. "I'm goin' to look for and fix broken bones and other internal injuries first. Cuts and scrapes, as long as they get treated properly, usually aren't as deadly." Nerra gently probed the elf's stomach in search of broken ribs and possible internal bleeding. "Broke a rib. Ye're lucky it didn't puncture your lungs with all that dodgin' you were doin'. This may smart." She winced as she felt the rib slip back into it's proper place. More magic seeped from her hands as she mended another rib, a couple broken fingers and his nose. The rest of his injuries were relatively minor. Her last action, before allowing Linath to don his shirt once more, was to wrap his upper torso to provide a little extra support to his freshly healed. "You'll want to be gentle with those freshly healed bones. Don't think ye'd like to have me heal 'em right away again. Now, I'd like you to sleep here tonight, so I can keep an eye on you, but I won't require it." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next morning, Nerra helped prep pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, milk and fruit juicebreakfast before strapping her new sword about her waist and going topside. Pudding should be able to finish making breakfast. It's not complicated, but it's hardy and should help keep our stores from spoiling. I'll need to see if we can get a smoker rigged above deck so we can try and save as much of our meat as possible.... "Ferrez, I'll be taking Kohana and Linath with me. I'd also like to take Sharkbait and Blackear, if you can spare them."

On deck. Before sunrise:
Ferrez agrees with Nerra. Kohana yawns and Linath runs his hands through his hair. Both are grateful for breakfast. Blackear talks with Ferrez, who growls. Blackear disappears below deck and returns in a few minutes pulling a yawning Sharkbait by the ear. They are now ready to go and under Nerra's orders. The Captain still sleeps, Me thinksss, Ferrez states. He looks about. Is early. Even for me. Linath, who still has the directions, is ready to lead to the south west docks and Camptons Boathouse. We'll be looking for a sign with a Swordfish. On the way there, you pass a few beggers and docksmen. But for the most part the docks are empty but for fishermen and trappers. You're very close to your destination. Might I ask about this Sword personage. Why they important? Iss not usss enough? Blackear's sharp ears twitch whenever something moves in the allies by the docks or in the water under the piers. He seems interested and perhaps uncomfortable with demon-anythings. The Kashan are a superstitious lot anyhow. Last edited by Demandred69; Dec 3rd, 2013 at 09:38 PM. |
